Does Echo suck? Seems like he sucks. Loud stompy feet. Meh weapons, not bad but meh. Only 1 drone, does no damage, many people can still shoot fairly accurately while stunned.

If they came out of the corner you were looking at, then you were playing against a team that didn't know how to use Echo.

He is best used when the enemy doesn't expect it, because it's precisely the "Dazed and Confused" shock aspect that you need with him to succeed.

For example: You're in Kafe defending Train room. Echo is on objective, other teammates covering other angles. You're Jaeger and roaming upstairs. You hear enemies rappelling because they clearly want to take over reinforced top hatch with Thermite/Hibana and rain death from above. You tell Echo that, he sends his drone over and hides it on the ceiling, while you lie in wait in the Wash-room. You get intel from Echo that they're in, and that it's 2 of them. You lurk slowly towards the piano room when Echo lets you know they're not watching that, and he tells you he's gonna stun Thermite when he starts planting his charge. He does it, you go in, kill Thermite instantly, and get the fuck out.

That's a good Echo use.

Having a drone on defense is already a huge advantage because of this. a mobile valkyrie camera that can even give you that information to begin with is already amazing. The sonic burst provides a guarantee that they won't have it so easy in those crucial seconds when you run up to them to peek and kill them.

Also, it is a good stalling/deterrent tool, think Smoke 2.0 basically. And since Ranked is all about stalling, then it's very valuable - even if you don't have someone ready to flank, they'll be paranoid that they're about to die to someone from the corner of their eye.

I couldn't tell you, to be honest. It's not an insane amount, but it might take you a couple of days or so depending on how much you play. And also, people usually frown upon newer players playing with the DLC ops as they can take a bit more practice than the vanilla ops, and new players often won't know how to use them effectively.

To be honest I bought mine to actually *support* the game, because I love it despite it being published by Ubisoft. Have 400 hrs since release.

3 speeds move faster and are quieter, this is part of why Ash is so good

Attackers are a bit trickier since you need to know the maps and the basics with everyone, but generally speaking if you don't know how to breach get thatcher and just throws EMPs wherever you see teamates attempting to breach.

I would only recommend silencers for pistols. Get cameras and all that out without making a huge ruckus. In general its not smart to use a silencer, but keep in mind that with a silencer, the bullet trails are barely visible, making your position when firing harder to figure out.

Yeah, they can be. I use one on IQ's pistol to make as little noise as possible when I shoot electronics. Automatic weapons with high rates of fire can offset the damage reduction.

It works for defense too, mostly for the roamers who want to ambush groups. The extra second or so while they try to figure out where you are can make the difference.

First run through all of the situations to get a handle on things. This way you at least know how to handle things in the game and how to maneuver around

Second, it's kind of going to be the norm for a bit, and that regards not just towards Valkyrie. People know the maps and tricks of those maps, and it'll be inevitable you'll be shitslapped by them. Anything from people hiding in corners you don't except to getting killed through tiny holes in the wall you passed off as nothing.

Drone frequently, collect as much intel as you can before you move(either from callouts or watching teammates positions). Learn camera positions(the normal map ones) and to take them out as an attacker. Similarly, learn to use them as a defender(spotting at first but gradually switching to callouts instead). Whenever you die watch the killcam and see why you died, and learn from it. Might have been a killhole you didn't see, or someone got the drop on you. You learn that stuff, how to avoid it, and how to also utilize it.

I've played 15 matches today. I've won 1. A single fucking match. Every game, my team generally looks like this:

Me (2.0 w/l and k/d)
Level 136 with a 0.4 k/d
Level 2 with Castle
Level 0 with no ops
Level 20 who is somehow 2nd best on the team

In all of those matches, only one guy had a mic, and he killed the fucking hostage. I just want my turkey charm, /r6g/. That's all I want. I only need 2 more rounds. Why can't I get 2 more rounds? I cannot keep carrying these former free weekend fags.

I know this didn't answer your post, to be honest the jarring feeling you get, the sense of horror you get from a hearing a noise but not knowing how to deal with it, or feeling completely hopeless at the thought of helping your team achieve victory is temporary. You're going to get pummeled and bullied and stalked and murdered, but in time you'll get acclimated to every aspect of the game just fine.

In short: I'd recommend you stick with it. It's pretty good, and their customer policy, against all odds, is one of the better ones in the industry right now - since they don't shill their DLC and section off the community. kek, you wanna know why they dont fix shields or blitz? you wanna know why you rubberband when you try to run thru walls? their hit detection is based around models/mesh ingame rather than determined hitboxes. thus when you run thru hole in walls and your screen looks like your character goes thru but then rubber bands behind the wall its because the game detected the model clipping thru and thus has to readjust you back.

by using this kind of detection model shields also can't be fixed, blitz cannot have a "smaller" head, mountain cannot "turn" his shield fast enough to block bullets because the collision detection is their hitreg system.

its pathetic you will stoop this low to defend this garbage and let them get away with it, hopefully ubisoft pays you enough to CTR this thread.

I don't need to show you evidence, try testing it ingame vs every operator they dont have real hitboxes. they use model collision for hit detection vs hitboxes (unlike every other fps game). Why is this? Well because they want procedural destruction in this game but didn't do it properly.

From early on they should have removed most if not all the physics from the destructable environments. Once something is destroyed it should be 2D non collision object that can clip thru the environment instead it's all 3D physical space and their garbage programming cannot deal with moving players as moving 3D object spaces interacting with all the 3D debris and small objects.
