Depends on how you do it. Don't forget that it regenerates 500k every turn. And that it one-shots your unit with the highest attack every turn, no matter what.

If you go for maximum cheese with 3x Rikku + Setzer, you can expect a 50+ minute fight.

If you can't cheese, you have to kill one arm 10 times and the other one 3 times, which will require you to deal 62 MILLION DAMAGE, not to mention the 500k regeneration every turn. Altema estimates the fight time around 2-5 fucking hours.

If I remember right, it's about 5 usable ones. The methodology behind it is just like with the magic, they do more but give you less of them total.

I can see why, given how the meta usually works, instituting like 50 spells that people will use less than 30% of them throughout the journey is a waste. So make the spells and summons you get do more and have repurcussions as well as pluses to using them.

I still remember how little some materia was used in 7 and realized that this was actually a pretty smart way to do things in XV. Making spells more versatile as well as having status effects and buffs is a good way to counter the 5 spell meta most rpgs run into.

Either way, the climate of it seems like it might be another X or XII, some people will undoubtedly shit on it for a bit, then it dies down as their views and subs dwindle and people have fun playing it thenselves, and it becomes yet another branch of the fanbase, like pretty much every FF. And my Raslers' Holy attack was banned recently anyway so that made things even worse, and then there's all those assholes with Petrify weapons that I don't have.
