j.D setups are useless when it's 90% of her wakeup game, hence why every combo vid ends in j.D ender?
Also 66 5D can be used after 214C214C ender to pressure the opponent on wakeup, either they don't tech and eat an easy confirm or wakeup and block crest. Beats most DPs.
6D's crest activates fairly fast, can be used for throw setups if done as an ender. Only combo filler drive tool is 2D.
By the way she has an instant fucking overhead with rising j.C, you can combo that by going into delay j.2BBB and en623C that into 3k. Or just have a j.D crest ready for more damage, or meter. It's risky because no gatlings but with resources, the opponent WILL be trying to block you.

Mai normals chain in specific order and it can be done on wiff, similliar to 3d games or ramlethal.
She has 3 overheads but 2 of them chain from the same normal (long spear thrust) and are +8 and -2 respectively for their speed (slower one is plus). Third one chain from her guard point stance which blocks mid attacks as long as mai holds B and is -8 on block.
She can't chain any lows from standing strings other than 5a-2a or low attack from guard point stance which is -2 afaik.
Her charged dive (which is 2 hits) is +3 and you can contest mai after it on IB. However if you're in the air second it doesn't touch you and leaves Mai largely negative on landing so against dive spammers jumping forward with block to contest that shit is not a bad idea.
She doesn't have any full invul reversal outside of OD-EA, though one of her supers have guard point starting frame 1.
Air spear throw has recovery till landing and is punishable if not canceled into backflip.
Backflip is low invul from frame 1 (untested but seem so), and full invul later on, though it still is throwable.

Ribcage is a tool that can be stalled out, and her Drive isn't something that lets her get in for free, it's something she can use in conjunction with her other hits in order to keep her pressure going, and even then it has to be used in beforehand. Activating ribcage in a position where you are not already at an advantage is basically asking for your Barrier to get drained and to not get as much off your next corner carry because you won't be able to get the full setup.
