Holy shit whoever thought up this increasing production cost for everything mechanic in VI needs to kill themselves. It has to be one of the most shitty unfun ideas I've seen in a modern game. I hope they patch this shit out in one of their next fixes, or give it a proper look at and think up something else less shitty for an expansion.

The answer to your problem is the same as all military problems in Stellaris: build more ships. If you've got 30+ corvettes, you should be able to take out the 500 - power spaceports; yes you'll take losses, but that's a given with corvettes.
Alternatively, take the Military Dictator ethic so you can make Grand Destroyers, which at 1250 or so base health can tank most of the station's damage while your corvettes chew the station up.

thinking in civ terms because i don't really play the rest

Why is there no game option to cap a match at a certain era?

Like, why not let you start classical, then end in medieval. would let you really play around with your favorite era, and kinda alleviate (by removign) the whole "zip past an era before it makes a difference."
is that just too similar to a "research takes way longer but production doesn't" mod/mode?
>>
Are non-domination vics possible on Deity or just no?

>>
>>161089010
http://www.nexusmods.com/civilisationvi/mods/27/?
There's the option of 2x, 5x or 10x.
There's also one for civics and one for great people (or all three in one) by the same guy.

I've been using the 2x all in one and it's pretty good but you get in these weird situations in the early game where you haven't unlocked new things to build so you're just spitting out builder/settlers you really don't need.
It gets solved later on because you can just do the district boosts.
>>
What would be a good government mechanic that appropriately represented forming/creating a government but still was "gamey" enough?

Like I was thinking something sort of like Civ 6, but where you gain slots the longer you have a government type enacted, and it takes a considerable amount of time to peacefully switch, you can switch right away though and have a period of anarchy.
>>
>>161086824

Couldn't you just, like, not use them? I think Firaxis fixed some exploits already, but not all of them.
>>
>>161080954
That guy was right, it is an rts and there's no campaign. It is really fun, though yeah, you're pretty much stuck with multiplayer
>>
>>161080954
Skirmish/multiplayer only.

3 great factions, but with loyalist/rebels subfactions who are a little different (mostly defensive/offensive).

Lots of options (can use missiles launcher to painlessly take out defenses, or use bombers, or just go in and go in like the US marshall and his three daughter).

Space pirates that are meh but can help fuck the enemy up.

Pretty straightforward game, you see what you get.

Is there any way to force alien pops to emigrate from your empire? I've been using the intersterllar railroad event to slow drain all my alien pops, but I've got 300ish enslaved aliens so it's taking some time.

Just took a screenshot of the new troop management for ground battles. Before it automatically divided your manpower among infantry/armor/air when you unlocked the techs. Now you can control the distribution and upgrade them.

On your entire empire i.e. everything you control so on planets and ships as their the only things that actually use manpower.

Speaking of manpower, as all ships now take manpower, they can also contribute to planetary invasions even if they don't have invasion modules on them so a fleet of pure space superiority ships can do a ground battle with a planet.

I'll post it in spoilers so that people who want to figure it out can still do so:
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

I'm fairly certain this isn't the correct general but do you lads know any decent youtube series for Crusader kings 2? I want to learn the game but reading all the tips is a drag and don't explain everything too well.
>>
I once played the Sythians and Spawned on the north edge of a continent where Mountains blocked me completely off the rest of the continent apart from 2 tiles on either side of the mountains.

It was honestly the best game I've played. I grinded and flooded my land with cities and districts. As soon as I got nukes I completely wiped the civs south of the mountains that I didn't have trade routes to.
>>
>>161109752
On Youtube? I don't know.
The game changes a lot with each patch anyway, so tutorials are quickly outdated.

The good general is /gsg/ by the way.
>>
>>161109752

Wrong thread. But honestly, just pick a big kingdom or duchy that will let you make some mistakes and play the thing. You'll pick it up.

>>

the general is gsg

Youtube: Look up Arumba's videos. They helped me quite a lot.

Personally, I just played the tutorial up until my character died, loaded up a new game with the same character (King of Leon, 1066) and went on from there. Ended up assassinating my two brothers (king of Galicia and Castille) and went on several holy wars to the South. Eventually formed the Empire of Hispania and went on to conquer Africa. Play a Spanish king to learn the basics of warfare, economy, and politics. Enjoy the crusades, but only put all your chips in if you have nearby territory.

Its not hard if you play on normal.
>Got awaken fallen empire in 2330 something
> Only had 40k fleet for their 130k
> I left some buffor between but its gone in first five years of awaken empire war campaign
>Use that time to spam navy and get to 70k
>Declare war and took two of their worlds (they got around 15 at that time )
> Build wormhole station and bait them to engage me there.
>take down their fleet in two battles (50k and 90k)
> Tour around their systems to destroyed all the defense stations.
> Split fleet and blocade their planets for easy warscore

That last part was important. I probably could take their planets, but they had 'strong' merit and my guys we're 'weak' (and i didnt have better soldiers/xeno ect.)

Most important is to take them on as early after the awakening as you can. If you cant warp to them its probably game over.

If you're worried about money just pick up the complete Civ V edition and work through that. Otherwise picking up Civ VI probably won't be too heinous seeing as you're new.

If you're super-strapped, get the expansions for Endless Legend and try that out.

I actually really like the idea of making more people ugly in some games/shows but it doesn't square well with cartoony style and cartoony/innacurate history. They should just aim for aesthetically pleasing/fuckable as possible.

Depends on what type of species I'm playing as.

For example my current elf species are the Orion. Taken from the Orion Belt, my headcannon is that the reason we call it the orion belt is some far lost knowledge of the species that potentially had contact with far ancient humans or the people that seeded life on Earth.

For reptillian and mammalian species I use names that are similar to ancient species that have gone extinct, usually species that relate to the species I'm playing.

The balance is terrible, look at Scythia. Norway is only strong in an island start, on a small map where you can get a strong longboat rush in. And in MP, this slight window of advantage can be nullifed by avoiding coastal city placement and relying on harbor districts.

Cossacks 3.

Pretty fun base building, giant armies, and an AI that recently got nerfed and is barely a threat anymore.

To the left of the picture, there's a spearmen wall. When in a formation, they get +3 armor (that's big), and when standing still, they get fucking +9 armor, which stacks with their normal armor. Earlier, the Turks attacked the spearmen with normal men. Despite being outnumbered, I didn't lose a single man there. That's how powerful formations are.
Up there, is the strelets pack. They're musketeers. Extremely powerful against infantry because each one deals roughly 15 dmg. And a standard pikeman has 90 HP, so a pack like that drops everything instantly.

The one attacking are archers mercenaries. Normal units can't attack buildings, so I had to recruit them to remove kebab.

In Stellaris, can I delete a colony somehow with a mod?

A new race just came up outside my borders and I forced them to cede their only planet.

Can I not delete a colony once it's empty of population?

>I actually really like the idea of making more people ugly in some games/shows
That depends on what you're going for
If it's a 'gritty' game then for maximum immershun people need to be average and dirty or scarred for the most part by default, you can mod in perfect titties if you want but it shouldn't be default.
If you're going for simulation i.e. a GS game then it doesn't really matter so it's completely up to the developer.
If you're going for 'gamey' and 'cartoony' as Civilization VI is, then make everyone fucking amazing looking because why the fuck wouldn't you?

I want Civ VII to be gritty and realistic, with world leaders appearing more scarred and mutilated based on how much I've fucked up their societies.
>>
>>161159442
A thing to note though is that with the cartoony style the look of the female leaders does fit though, since they overemphasize certain features about them in relation to their character, like tomyris has a really strong jaw that helps emphasise her proud warrior queen personality, Catherine looks slimy as fuck and has a face that screams "do not trust me I am a plotting little cunt", Gorgo is similar to Tomryris with her prominent cheekbones and so on. Victoria looks condescending and smug as fuck and is actually more attractive than she was historically as she wasn't particularly amazing.

I think they did an overall pretty good job

Cleo is just a fucking melting wax sculpture though, although perhaps that's also appropriate as she also wasn't terribly amazing to look at if I remember my history right, she was just powerful, had big tits and applied makeup with a masonry trowel which was apparently all that mattered in those days.

At that point you should just use portraits or a lifelike 3D.
Personally I prefer either portraits / actually realistic 3D like the intro movie for Civ V, or everyone being pretty good looking whether you go for anime style (just stop with this stupid pixar 3D shit honestly and get some good 2D animators, it's lighter on performance and probably looks better because you fucks obviously can't animate for shit) or Civ V style.

>>161160338
It doesn't really fit because they all look like garbage which doesn't mesh with the 'clean' and cartoony look they went for everywhere else. Everyone but Tomyris and Victoria looks like they're going to be a villain in a new pixar movie, while Victoria just looks like a background character.

>Pretty much gated off a huge section of the arm for unrestricted expansion, and my empire has a booming industrial base by the time they're still trying to get their second and third starting planets.

>Other side of the galaxy arm is blocked off by three solar systems with 1K+ AI hostile mobs, serving as a galactic equivalent of the "Alps", nobody can set foot in those solar systems without getting reckt.

>Everything's going fine and dandy

>>161172042
That reminds. Did they added nebulaes, asteroid fields, and black holes in Stellaris yet? I remember Distant Worlds having these.
>>
>>161172206
Black holes just act as stars
Nebulae doesn't make sense in context, they'd just be the entire system.
Asteroid fields would anger the casuals.
>>
>>161172395
So no system that slows your shit down or anything?
>>
>>161172560
nebulas do, they slow ftl travel and restrict sensor range.

But since the game is so slow you're usually playing on a maxed accelerated time frame anyways so you don't really feel the difference.
>>
>>161172560
Black holes don't slow your shit down to begin with and if they do then that's scientifically bullshit, since at normal distances they literally act like a star. If the sun got replaced with a one solar mass black hole (who knows how it formed), the earth would freeze but it wouldn't have a disturbed orbit or get ripped apart.
The reason black holes have such strong gravity is because you can get infinitely close to their center of mass, and gravity gets four times stronger every time you halve the distance.

No, nothing slows you down. Stellaris is shit.
>>
>>161172734
Ha, so there's is the space equivalent of a swamp.

But no asteroid field? No mines?
>>
>>161172734

>>
>>161172814
since literally forever
>>
>>161172907
Oh wait they're the huge blobs that cover the galaxy right?
Yeah I forgot about them because they do literally nothing and are never relevant
>>
>>161171689
Maybe, but like I said it's every game with him.
I've seen OP civs like Germany and Scythia snowball that hard but I've also seen them get absolutely crushed.
But not Mvemba. I've played 5 or 6 Deity games with him and every single time he's just miles ahead of anyone else, even in science which he shouldn't have an edge in.
At this point I just really want to know why Kongo of all civs is constantly doing this well.
>>
>>161172990
exactly.
>>
Has anyone tried enslaving primitives early on in Stellaris? I just played a game where I'd just land armies on primitive worlds and conquer/enslave the population, still needed some influence to do it, but I didn't have to pay for colony ships early on, just for three assault armies. I felt like I got a huge boost not only for the industrial base I got for a planet full of slaves, but because I could easily colonize another type of planets early on.
>>
>>161103564
so if you focused on space battles for the whole game and need to do an invasion, you can quickly spit out a shitty invasion module fitted ship and put it in fleet so the whole fleet gets the benefit?
>>
>>161144571
Civ 6, sorry for the late reply.
>>
>>161173419
if they're an industrial civilization or higher you can full reptilian and infiltrate their government, subvert it, and then have them hand it over to you all it costs is the price for the observation outpost and maybe a few years.

Technically the cheapest way, but it's a long time consuming process.
>>
>>161173419
yeah it's a good strategy especially if you combine it with full ethics divergence and/or happiness. So spirtitualist autocratic government that gives a huge boost to ethics divergence plus spirtualist plus xenophobic for symbol of unity and symbol of purity plus militarist for virtual combat arena
>>
>>161174396
Is there any way to get the governor to build or at least keep those buildings in sectors? It seems as soon as I build happiness/ethics divergence buildings, the AI instantly destroys them when it takes over the sector, unless I turn off land redevelopment.
>>
>>161174658
you can build them yourself and then set your sectors to not tear down already built buildings however I don't believe sectors build them on their own.
>>
>>161174740
That's probably my most hated thing about sectors, unless I fully plan and build the planet myself, the governor will always seem to fail to build in any sort of efficient manner. It's worst because sometimes the need changes (Such as times when the empire is unhappy), so I'd have to go unsector things, build the right stuff, and resector them.
>>
>>161174905
someone posted a slightly indepth analysis in a previous thread a few days ago but apparently building a mine or power plant is more effecient than building a happiness building.

In the end the happiness boost to production doesn't outdo just straight up building another mine or power plant so that's why sectors don't build them. The problem is sectors aren't taking into consideration the fact that unhappy pops, especially conquered ones, will rebel and join factions
>>
>>161167005
does stellaris even have any aoe weapons
arc whatevers say they bounce but i've never seen them actually do so
>>
>>161173814
>tfw I don't have 6 so I can't help you out

I'm upset.
>>
>>161175349
That's the big issue. Lack of happiness causes ethics divergence and rebelling. 10% happiness above 50 is worth -4% ethics divergence, and when ethics diverge less, you have more happy pops since they're not mad about your policies.

I'd rather squeeze out as many loyalist pops as I can than get a few more minerals for my trouble.

Against the AI it is. If you start making tourism they will all immediately drop everything and pump all their time into building wonders. They elastic band the shit out of you. Why is there so much hate towards Stellaris?

What's wrong with it?

I have a couple of houndred hours in it so far and my friends and I still like it a lot.
>>
>>161229867
I'd like to know as well. I'm actually just in this thread trying to decide whether I'd buy it.

I haven't gotten it yet just based on the general principle of it being a Paradox game, so in a year and a half it would be DLC'd and patched to a far better point, but I don't really have much to play right now, so I'm considering getting it anyway.
>>
>>161229867
I think it's just one salty guy here who spams Stellaris hate a lot.

It's good.
>>
>>161229396
Personally, I'm not a big fan of hyperspace, I heard it used to be that it could be used from anywhere in the system, which sounds pretty cool, but now that it's only on the edges, I don't really see the point. It just felt like a worse version of warp when I tried it. Depending on the mapping in your area, if it's too many small jumps, you will often end up needing 2 jumps for a distance that warp can reach in 1, which doesn't even make it faster along those paths.

And that's not even taking into account the biggest flaw of not being able to move in all directions. I ended up in a place that was essentially a "hyperlane corner", i.e. I could only move to the left, even though I was in the middle of the galaxy. So the faction from the right could just freely enter my territory, while I would've had to carve out a large route around if I want to return the favour.

And your setup doesn't exactly seem like you plan on being friendly with others anytime soon.

So yeah, not a huge fan of hyperlane, but maybe I just haven't figured out how to use it.
>>
>>161230123
I have lots of hours in Sword of the Stars 1/2, Endless Space 1/2, Sins of a Solar Empire, GalCiv, BE, MoO etc... and I still find Stellaris to be my favourite because of all the stuff you can do.

I've also tried the Star Ruler and Stardrive games and they dont even come close to the other ones.

The only other 4X game that I like about as much as Stellaris is Endless Legend.
>>
>Great Generals stack
>This is considered balanced
>>
>>161230123
The main strong point of Stellaris to me is kind of a roleplaying aspect, especially with the workshop you have a huge amount of customization options to add flavour to your species, from looks and genetic traits to their form of government. Then you have small stuff like the name of your species and the name of your empire as 2 separate things, your homeworld, your home star, the title of your empire's leader, the title of the heir of your empire's leader, if hereditary, etc.

The impact on gameplay is quite small, it essentially comes down to amassing minerals and building your fleet. Even if you use slavery, it makes it a bit more difficult to manage the factions, in return for a bit more manual labour, but the gameplay isn't much different either way.

That's why I call it mostly roleplaying, do you wish to collect minerals, conquer your opponents, then live in a multicultural society, collect minerals, conquer opponents, and enslave them, or collect minerals, conquer opponents, purge them, and resettle your master race on their planet (if you use habitability trait)?

An unpredictable AI is more challangening because you have to consider everything.

Just stop being bad.

Only a few of the weapons are unbalanced, but it all comes down to checking what your opponents use and counter it. There are guides for this you know.

They cost litereally nothing.

Amplitude grew way too fast as a studio. Having the HQ in Paris, an expensive as fuck city, doesn't help. They needed a sugar daddy so they signed up with SEGA. But they just can't produce content fast enough and daddy is getting impatient so ES2 will launch incomplete.

This is probably my biggest gripe with the game, war and empire expansion is fucking tedious because of this. Why can't you purge when you're at war? it's fucking war! >>161242212
Only two of those make it easier, and its smarter rather than easy. It makes no sense for barbs to have advanced horseriding techniques before actual civilizations do. In terms of aggression that should be based on the civ's personality, but most should not go to war on sight on turn 20. This is objective.

>>
>>161243720
It feels better than on release, but still you can't really tell it to control the pops the way you want to. For example, I can't tell it to purge or relocate to prison planets all pops that are drifted away, so they will influence new pops, planet turns into a clusterfuck and succumbs to rebellions.
>>
>>161242662
Agreed

Collectivists have a huge advantage when it comes to expansion because they have access to purging.

I feel like when it comes to Purging, it should only be counting towards you're own pops, kind of like how Communists irl purge there own populations for whatever reasons, whether its dissent or overpopulation.

Killing Enemy populations should not be counted as the same as purging your own pops, It's fucking War. Sure you should take some kind of penalty from diplomacy for exterminating your enemies pops, but there should be no reason only Collectivists can exterminate entire worlds DURING A WAR.

At the very least, Militarists should also have access to purges.
>>
>>161242083
Even some human players declare war on turn 20 if they see the other person left their only city unprotected, envoys are given after a certain "influence" requirement is met.
>>
>want to have 19 AI

>>161244627
Humans make logical decisions. The AI often chooses to attack me when I have a more advanced army, mock me for the army, then offer me all their cities and luxuries after I kill 1-2 units. That or the opposite. I'll have almost no units and the AI (including barbs sometimes) just circle my city for ages doing absolutely nothing until they get bored. Dont try and defend Civ VI AI.

There already is. Settler/builder/district costs become fucking retarded. I once had a 3man continent to myself after clearing it - attempted to blot out the whole thing so no asshole AI settled on my turf. Everything became stupid expensive to build. Deleted the save, and never again tried to get a whole continent to myself early without multiple AIs building some cities first.

if you have the chance to buy them then do so. they improve the game.

Forget Civ.

Civ V is good with expansions, but Endless Legend is much more fun.

EL gives you a much more fun and varied playstyle between factions compared to countries in Civ.

Another thing I dont like with Civ (which is something that cant change much because of its historical relation) is the linear tech tree.

I love how different the factions are in EL, ES, Sword of the Stars etc.

Better combat.
You can choose equipment on units.
Has heroes that level which can be used as leaders and generals that has their own specific skill trees.

Much more fun spying system than any Civ game.
Much more replayability because of how different all factions play.

You'll never be alone playing EL or Civ.
Both games has many people playing them to be able to join a MP game anytime you want.

It's just that EL will last longer because of its depth compared to Civ.

Just pick one of the plain factions like Wild Walkers in EL and it will play out more like your traditional Civ game, and when you want more, play any of the other more exotic and specified factions.

This seems to be a positive development.

If The Dominion and the Enclave go to war with each other I might try and help take them out while they are distracted.
My fleet supposedly has equivalent power and size compared to theirs, but their tech is still overwhelming, so I might just get crushed.

If I do it I have to act fast, since they have already started to make Dominions out of the smallest empires around. Their first dominion even crushed the humans from Deneb, who had become a distinct faction from the Commonwealth of Man, which I already turned into my protectorate.
I might try and take them back and fight the Dominion, without getting the Ascendancy involved.

To be fair, Paradox has free updates with the DLCs. So even if you don't get the new features, you get the patch, and they sometimes change a lot of stuff.
You're still heavily encouraged to get the expansions, otherwise you have a lot of unavailable options.

The key to winning in Stellaris is blobbing. Expand early and often. Even if it fucks your research costs at the outset it will pay off by mid game when most of the territory around you has been snatched up. So be aggressive early on and don't miss out on all those sweet systems. Even if they look barren now research will reveal more resources in the future.

When making your own faction consider traits like adaptable or talented. Adaptable is good for helping you expand quicker and talented will give you a bit of an edge in research and other leader-related things. You can make most ethics work, but I find it hard to play without collectivist because it's the only ethos that lets you purge your own populations.

It's a travesty and I'm convinced it'll flop like the first game did - perhaps not monetarily, but definitely from a gameplay perspective; the developers are afraid of adding any kind of depth to anything. Apparently they imagine their playerbase to be colossal retards who need their hands held through every moment of gameplay.

And it doesn't even matter how many cities you have. 1 city civ is allowed the same amount of spies as 100 cities. FUCKING WHAT?!

The offense is taken at gamers who pay money for barebones content

That's why Creative Assembly is putting lots of time and effort into adding stuff to older DLC as FLC now, with the addition of Morghur as a LL for anyone who bought the Beastmen DLC because they got so much shit for having a half-assed DLC priced at nearly 20 dollars

For whatever reason releasing tons of barebones shit doesn't catch Paradox the same flak, but then the argument that it's useless cosmetic stuff anyway is probably their main cover.

The only time I was "good" at CIV games was in 3 when I built cities everywhere and overran everyone with huge numbers of soldiers

Now I'm playing 5 and trying to figure out if it is a good thing to plop my settlers down on top of rare gold-producing resources like gems and silk

It gives me an immediate boost to my income without having to use one of my city's pops to work that tile, but is there some negative effect to settling on top of resources that I'm not aware of?

And is it a good idea to just let my workers be automated and improve things, or does the AI just mindlessly build farms? I've noticed the automated workers never seem to build roads between my cities so I'm wondering if automation is shit.

And why did they remove unit stacking?
>>
>>161317952
>I was just playing and got siphoned funds for more money than was in my treasury. First of all there is no way that should be possible. Then it caused bankruptcy and my entire country goes into a rebellion which can never be ended. Amenities keep dropping each turn after that more and more negative and ever more rebels spawn for an endless cycle that essentially ends the game. For a single spy to be able to end the game shouldn't be possible. Also, there was no way for me to stop it with counterspies because more than one AI civ was attempting siphon funds. If you put more than one counterspy in commercial district, as soon as one of them captures one enemy spy, both counterspies are removed from the district and returned to Capital.

I'd say Distant Worlds.

Darkest Dungeon is grind + RNG. Avoid it.

Plague Inc is merely an ascended flash game. You can wait.

Distant Worlds is fine, but unintuitive. I'd suggest it.

I know nothing about Democracy 3, so I don't know.

I heard Galactic Civilizations II was better than the third one.
>>
>>161319708
DD is good if you enjoy rng punishing you for no reason. Plague inc is something I played on newgrounds twelve years ago, it's not worth 7.5$. Democracy 3 is fun to faff about it but there really wasn't any replay.
>>
>>161319802
>>161319860

I'd say D3 can wait because not that much of the price is filed off.

Going by what you said DWU and GalCiv3 are the only ones that seem worth considering
>>
>>161319708
>Darkest Dungeon
fun at the beginning but RNG slowly rapes your ass without lube. Extremely unfair, makes you want to choke puppies
>Plague
It's fun, has many different scenarios and plagues. enjoyable
>Distant Worlds
i bought it because i wanted something else than Stellaris. This game is just huge "what the fuck is happening". After 5 hours of play i still had no idea what was happening and game was doing whatever the fuck it wanted. Only for advanced autism.
>Democracy
i thought it was fun but after playing a little longer it just felt meh
>Gal Civ
never played, would like to try though
>>
>>161319708
Darkest Dungeon is shit. It relys heavily on grind that only gets massive and more massive the closer you crawl towards the end. I really love the idea of the game but its so badly done it makes me want to cry.
>>
>>161319898
I only played GalCiv2, and it seemed extremely complex. APPARENTLY, GalCiv3 isn't that good, but I don't think if it's been fixed. You need a second opinion on it.

Avoid Darkest Dungeon like the plague, Plague Inc is also very repetitive.

You would love Aurora, it's even worse.

i do not dare to imagine it

To be honest, Distant Worlds' main (and only) flaw is that it doesn't explain anything. You have to figure out by yourself that your ships stopped moving because they're out of fuel, that building a station here would be counter-productive, or that your battleships don't have enough reactors to fire all these lasers you put on them at once.

I think I'll settle for DWU, wait for a more convenient sale on Democracy 3 and scratch DD off that list.

i understand concept of WHAT is happening on screen but not WHY it is happening. This shit was just accepting whatever advisors told me to do because i actually couldn't keep track of what is going on.
Another thing is being overthrown, this shit is gay.
I got game over literally 5 (five) minutes in and didn't have slightest idea why and how it happened.
This game plays itself.
Maybe Stellaris is too simple but at least it is transparent enough to know what is going on
>>
>>161320765
That's because the game's basic setting is to have EVERYTHING automated, kinda like Star Ruler.

So your ships will form fleet and move around by themselves, your advisors will tell you to build stations but not why or how, and pirates will bully you for money.
