I disagree, the peak of dota was TI3 and shortly before and after that.

Before was mostly the scene developing, after that is the crash and we're currently witnessing the downfall of competitive dota and dota in general not only as an esport but as a game with any sort of integrity towards it's own future.

Valve has said in multiple interviews that there are barely any people working on Dota anymore and they've been using it largely as an experimental game. Get ready to play Dota 1 again when they fire icefrog to save costs and (((take the game in a new exiting direction.)))

thats why 'tank' is so unfitting when you think of how its normally used for champs in LoL and in WoW
a tide can be called a tank because he wants to get in their faces, and he can deal with it, and most of the time is happy to die for his team if it leads to a good ult, but leshrac needs to LIVE while frontlining
dark seer and earth shaker are also initatiors, but they want to use their spells then gtfo out of there, and then re-initiate if the oppourtunity arises
tl;dr 'tank' normally implies a selfless, sometimes wreckles position in order to trade your life or your safety for the good of the team, and thats not lesh unless you use your death to overwhelmingly win the fight and get objectives like forced buybacks, towers, rosh or rax afterwards

The crazy thing is though that I was a lot more successful as a support pre-2014, it was easier to just auto-win your team the lanes off of two smoke ganks early game and then all you had to do was keep the monkeys in the barrel coordinated enough to not bash their brains against barracks three times over because a good 15k+ lead took 3 teamwipes to throw instead of just one.

I don't like that it's so light now because certain effects (namely Witch Doctor's healing spell and Jugger's healing ward) are very light visual effects and I cannot distinctly see the radius of them during the day while on Radiant's default map.

If the team playing from behind manage to score a kill in a important target, they get a boost to close the gap, they're not fed 15 levels+ 3 rapiers


Also,pre rubberband - you can play good at the beggining to get advantadge and it won't matter if you commit mistakes mid game because the chances they can comeback are low
Now you're forced to play right all game long to not be dragged down

You don't have to like it, but you can't say now it helps retardation from the losing team because it also punishes retardation from the winning team.

i actually think the hood active will receive a small nerf in the next patch, its borderline untouched OP'ness
AUI already did several strange hood purchases on np, but it worked out super good. it basically allows you to play like you have bkb since they can never commit enough on you that early on in the game to kill you without losing a fight, and then it scales excellent later on with raw HP and if you run out of slots just sell it for a bkb
remember its +30% ehp against magic dmg AND +375 or 400 hp on top of that, so if you have between 1k-1,5k hp (which is not uncommon on any carry 10-20 min into the game), you are basically unkillable with a raindrop, a wand, a mek on your team or a force staff or whatever. the only lineups with that much burst that early on are magic lineups, so you put it on someone that can push towers and frontline and dadida you're good to go

i'll get half a dozen kills on either their mid or carry in the early teamfight stage of the game, gank them into bankruptcy, never let them rosh but then we always lose the lategame because he aint an iron talon pseudo carry.

Picking Legion Commander should automatically place you in low priority.
The hero is actually unironically the worst. Even with a good early game and +150 damage by 40 minute it still manages to lose because it doesn't do anything and once people get linkens it's basically a waste of all that farm.

The issue with pub LCs is that they have little to no understanding of items so they tend to always go with the brainless blink blademail deso bullshit. The hero has high potential in the right hands and with a coordinated team, either of those things is a fucking toss up in pubs.

Warlock entered the meta for the same reason Omniknight became a really contested pick for like 3 weeks - every meta supp got nerfed and the untouched heroes were already nerfed or already weak.
The problem with LC is that it is a carry which is available among the abundant amount of carries in the game already. They determine the pace of the game and so they rarely get nerfed to shit tier in one patch.
For a hero killing specialist, LC has too many steps to get there compared to a few of the meta heroes like PA, which can build straight damage items without intermediate items like blink/sb/echo sabre.
