Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't sure. I also have a question about the Stun perk for Sharpshooter. I'm not really sure what it does exactly or what weapon would benefit. As far as I can tell, the Railgun and Crossbow already stun even off perk. The LAR is weaker than the M14, so can the M14 stun anything with that perk?

If you use the M14 with the stun skill you can stun Scrakes in 4 headshots, it also allows the Xbow to stun Fleshpounds in 1 headshot.
If you're using the Railgun, it's better to just run the extra damage skill though.

Thanks guys. Great info. Is Tactical Reload ever better than Rack 'em Up? I've used the Bow on Survivalist and I really like how fast you can shoot it with the reload speed. However, I feel like if I ran M14/Crossbow, Rack 'em Up would be superior for the M14.

I'm the guy who hadn't used the evis for 300 hours. Gave it a try before and I've gotta say, it's easily one of the most unsatisfying weapons in the whole game.

There's barely any audio or visual feedback on zed damage with it's alt fire/bash. And the oddly slow projectile speed is disgusting

Use rack 'em up if you're using the M14, as you are able to get multiple consecutive headshots.
Use tactical reload if you're using the crossbow or railgun as they don't shoot fast enough to get heads. It's also a lot more helpful because you need to reload more with those weapons

You can take rack 'em up if you need the extra 10% damage on 6-man HoE.
for anything else it is unnecessary.

So if you're using M14 and Crossbow which perk is superior? I was thinking M14 for trash and crossbow for bigs so I thought Tactical Reload would come in more handy. But I'm not sure of the breakpoints on 6p HoE for a level 25 Sharpshooter. It might be more efficient to stun a Scrake/Fleshpound once with the Crossbow, then use Rack 'em Up with the M14 to finish. This is how I feel whenever I play Sharpshooter on HoE. I feel like everyone is just trying to get in my way and fuck up everything. All I need is 4 quick bolts with my Crossbow on both Fleshpounds and Scrakes, but I feel like someone is always knocking them down, raging them, setting them on fire, stumbling them or just getting in the way. I agree with this. Combat Medic is probably the best role it serves as the heavy weapons feel a bit weaker on Suicidal and HoE. The weapons I've seen that have been good on Survivalist are basically

P90, Kriss, Scar on semi-auto, HSG, Crossbow, Railgun, RPG, Medic Assault RIfle, Medic Pistol, M14, M79, Eviserator and Deagle.

SWAT and Commando weapons don't really need the reload speed, but things like the RPG, Crossbow and HSG benefit heavily from it. Gunslinger weapons have too much recoil and really need the reload speed, which means mixing heavy weapons with them doesn't work well. The single Deagle is really the only Gunslinger weapon that works well due to having a pretty fast reload and lower recoil. It's also one of the few secondary options that's decently strong.

Which brings the biggest problem to getting the extra carry weight perk over the ammo vest. Too many primaries on one slot. This is the problem created by wanting to make sure KF2 could be played on a controller. There's a lot of neat combinations you can explore with Survivalist, but they are immediately ruined by having 3-4 primaries on one slot. Trying to cycle and keep everything loaded will just get you killed on Sui/HoE.

Most of the loadouts I've had the most combat success with include the HSG, Deagle/Med Pistol mixed with a strong weapon like the Crossbow, Railgun or RPG. The HSG is just a really great flexible weapon. For combat medicing, the Medic Assault Rifle and Med Pistol mixed with a good fire and forget weapon seem to work well. The M79, Crossbow and HSG being the easiest to use.

Medic AR + M79 seems like a good combat medic combo. Use the M79 to delete Crawler, Stalker, and Clot groups with one shot, then use the Medic AR to pick off single targets getting close to you and heal.

That is a good loadout. Slap on the Deagle for some spare ammo and you're good. I also wanted to try the Evis with the melee damage perk and the extra carry weight. I'm not sure what other weapons to pair it with. AA12? RPG with med pistol? M14, Deagle, med pistol? Lots to think about.

The alt-fire is amazing. If you jump and immediately fire, you go flying. It's how I avoid raging Scrakes and Fleshpounds and bosses rushing me. You can fly around the map too to create some distance.

*The game is noticeably easier than KF1 if you have good crowd control.

*Combos aren't nearly as important as they are in KF2.

*Survivalist is best used as a combat medic.

*Enemy spawns are much more intense and have more enemies in them than in KF1. The ability to quickly clear out a group (Demo, SWAT, Support, Commando) is almost essential for a group.

*Almost every class is viable. The only one that genuinely sucks is Firebug.

*Sharp is no longer the powerhouse he used to be. He can still kill Scrakes and FPs well, but you need a team that's constantly keeping critters off of him to do so. Plus, some classes do his job almost as well as he does.

*Learn how to parry as a Zerk. It will make your life much easier.

*Unlike KF1, Stalkers can and will fuck you up.

*Speaking of Stalkers, the Commando's ability to see Stalkers extends to the entire team now. Very useful.

Everything moves faster and more erratically so have fun with that, the Medic Pistol is really useful so buy it if you can, taking down scrakes and fleshpounds is often a team effort, especially at low levels or if you get a rogue one in an early wave, so don't be afraid to help out with that.

For fun times, try learning to dodge and jump with the DBS, it opens a lot of movement options and can be a hard counter to Scrakes and FPs even off-perk. Also learn to parry. Even with the basic knife it can occasionally come in handy, and as a zerk its near essential. Also the new grenades are nice.

I got the perk to 25 through perseverance and playing Hard/Sui. Something about the recoil just will not click with me and I consider it a severe character defect because revolvers are dope.

Am I the only one that almost never plays HoE ? I feel that HoE is never gonna be the difficulty where you can see a great deal of perk variety. I played Suicidal a lot, but it got boring. I've started to play HoE, which isn't much harder or more fun. I notice the same problem persists on both difficulties. Demos and Berserkers ruining fun. If I see one more fucking Eviserator and Katana shitter out there I'm going to flip my lid. Same with every RPG shitter that just can't hold back firing away at everything and making sure their Nuke zed time shit will cause Scrakes to stumble around and rage.

It's the same problem as KF1. All the neat things you can do in the game will be immediately shat upon by the dumpsters that play easy win button perks. Thankfully, Crossbow Sharpshooter in KF2 is actually a more skilled loadout, unlike 1 where every wannabe cool kid would go Crossbow Sharp and destroy everything. Still, just like 1, Berserkers ruin fun the most, and Demos are still intrusive and fuck up all your combos and aim.

Variety is a problem that both games have. No matter how many weapons a class has, Suicidal and HoE gameplay boils down to two or three weapons per class, with the rest left to rot or used only when bored with friends.

As a Demo in KF2, I try to control my fire when Scrakes come and pick off trash if someone else (or the rest of the team) is handing the Scrake, but sometimes the group of Gorefasts, Clots, and Stalkers clumped around them is too tempting to not ignore.

After spending some time with the Survivalist, I think I consider it "ok" at best.

The class seems like it's heavily biased towards playing as a Demo/Medic hybrid. It lacks the good parts of most perks, such as Commando's Stalker vision, recoil reduction, and zed time boosts, Support's penetration, Firebug's protection from his own fire, SWAT's flashbangs and mag sizes, and Zerk's damage resistances and damage output. Meanwhile, it has a skill that boosts the amount of health darts heal and dart recharge rate to a half-decent amount and has skills that boost Demo reload speed and explosion radius.

Sometimes, I feel like I would be more effective as a Medic or a Demo, not a hybrid of both as a Survivalist. If the team is full of shitters, it's nice to have someone that can heal decently and blow up clumps of trash, but if your team has a Medic or Demo that aren't totally sucking as their roles, the only good way to build Survivalist doesn't feel all that useful.

Is Survivalist fun? Sure. Would I want Survivalist over another new class? Hell no. It's clearly last-minute filler to say they have 10 perks in the game. You can salvage something useful out of it, but I don't feel like it really adds to the game like the other perks do. It's just there.

It all comes down to teamwork, if one team works together against scrubs trying to do everything alone, it will end fast. Like if there is no one playing medic, they humans will die very fast. The biggest problems of zed players is that they're trying to do everything alone, making a bee line to humans just to be gunned down. The humans have it easier, because they are staying together from the beginning of the round, while zed players can spawn in different part of maps, or you can be alone for some time waiting for others to respawn. But if zeds team up they can make short work of unprepared survivors, especially with Siren's OP vortex pull.

Most of the weapon/clothing skins are gaudy. They look like Tron or something an African drug lord would hang on his zebra print wall. Camouflage might not be as flashy, but it's themed, easy to apply to cosmetics/skins, and look great in first-person. Hell, they can sell camo packs in their store/marketplace and make a profit since they're simple and varied enough that people will want to pick their favorites.

There is a timer when Patty is running after you when he stop trying to melee you and instead try the minigun or rocket launcher. When he does that really close to you and you're in the open, you're dead. Minigun upclose kills you almost instantely. You have to learn or just feel the moment when he was running after you for awhile, and if you're in a shitty open spot with no cover, it's best to just take the melee to the face.

I forgot to add. If you're playing hard with Medic Shotgun and RPG, I'd actually recommend going Survivalist. The reload speed for the RPG and the damage buff to the RPG will help you out a lot. You won't miss out on much healing aspect because of Survivalist's medic nades and medic training perk. And 15% damage is comparable to the 20% you get for the Medic Shotgun.

You can argue the damage buff would be great for the boss round, but for everything else? Intermittent and variable damage buffs are not going to change anyone's game play. Trash will die just as fast, and nobody engages large zeds with out having the ability to kill it. The damage buffs could potentially make a difference, but the medics damage buff could potentially make a difference. I tend to think running with the team damage buff is a reasonable idea and thats what i do, but only because ive not come to depend on the medic buff with my loadout, im sure some loadouts might benefit from that.

What I meant is there are medics that concentrate on killing zeds, and heal people from time to time only when they run in front of them, not paying attention that some guy is getting raped because he was caught off guard by a group of stalkers and when big zeds appear, they're nowhere to be seen. You're playing Demo? Buy M79 as soon as possible, great at blowing up the trash and getting you dosh for RPG.
When you have RPG you need to ask yourself a big question, is your team capable of holding every side of the spot and there is no danger of you getting slapped every second by some crawler or stalker? If yes, stay with M79 it's great at clearing big groups. If there is a high possibility that you need to kite, take M16.
Remember your dynamite can stun scrakes and fleshpounds on hit, so you should always start comboing the fleshpound with stunning it. Just remember it won't stun him if he's raging. You should probably use the dynamite only on fleshpounds, but if there is a raging scrake raping your team, it's good to use it then too.
Leave Scrakes to others and try not to rage them (but it is fun to blow them so hard, they will fly to the air and die from the fall). But it doesn't mean your weak against them, oh no sir. Two RPGs to the head from point blank will most likely kill him, so practice that.
Remember you're weak in close combat, so mind your position and get out fast if you're getting overrun.

Hx25 + M79 is better than taking the M4, because the M4's magazine doesn't get the Demo's bonuses while having a smaller grenade.

As Medic you get:
+50% Mag size for perk weapons
+20% Damage for perk weapons
meaning the Medic Shotty has 15 in the mag and in my experience can drop a Scrake with less than that, especially if you've got another Medic with the Damage buff on heal perk backing you up, and even then that isn't completely necessary because it loads 15 shells at a time so you can get back to blasting fairly quickly after emptying your mag.

Meanwhile DBS with NO damage/Reload/stagger/mag increases because of class is what you reccomend.

Oh also lets not forget actually doing what your supposed to do as a medic and healing people while they deal the majority of the damage.

There's little to no reason the DBS outclasses the Medic shotty (at least AS a medic) barring maybe some very specific circumstances. Survivalist however is a different story all together.

The DBS doesn't need additional buffs to be viable off-perk, it already has a high stumble power and can decap scrakes in 3 alt fires.
It got a reload buff a while back and medic weapons doesn't have increased/tac reloads in the first place.

I've found that Hans is much more manageable in maps that have a large open space in them. Makes it much easier to dodge his HE grenade and you have more room to move around after gas spam. Put him in a map with lots of tight areas, like KF-Outpost, and you're in big trouble unless you have a Zerk and don't get split up.

Pat works best if you can kite him around something, like the tanks in KF-Outpost or the subway entrance in KF-BurningParis. If you can't, then your team is probably going to get wiped.

I like grabbing an early katana and using the melee skill to waltz through crowds of trash for lods of eexp.

You barely take any damage if you shuffle side to side while you move, sweeping light slashes and flinchlocking everything around you. If you hit a siren or bloat you can switch to forward and backward shuffling and headstrikes to take them down a bit quicker. No problem clearing the early waves without even taking armor damage, and you save on ammo expenses so you can share/save.

I still carry a DBS for emergencies and Husks, though, and I generally upgrade to the RPG when scrakes and FPs are more of a problem.

If you have enough spare ammo for a wave you usually don't need an extra, shittier version of your current weapon.

It's also usually more effective to carry two T4's instead of a T4 and a T1 during the later waves.

I started playing recently and I've fought him maybe 10 times. Is it me or do they REALLY want us to fight him through his 3 phases ? In KF1 I remember defeating him a good number of times before he had a chance to heal.
Here he retreats outside of the map to heal and I've even seen him bug out and heal on the spot once. It's pretty lame, I feel Tripwire wants to force down their retarded idea of balance on us. Sometimes I wonder if KF1 wasn't so good by accident and not because of deliberate game design decisions.

stand as far back as possible from the trader. It always pissess me off when demos/supports go and hug the pod, there is no reason. If they would just stay at the maximum usable range people could easily just grab ammo from them, but no.

Also dont sprint between waves, just run, people can catch you if they need ammo.

I agree. I've been with the game since the start of STAYING TUNED and I'm enjoying the game for what it is now, not still being pissy over dumb decisions that TWI has made in the past.

I ragequitted when Resistances came out because of how dumb they were, but I've put that in the past because that update has almost been completely undone. If I were to review the game now, I wouldn't mention the fallout over it because it has no relevance to the current state of KF2.

The game still has some noticeable issues (Firebug being useless, bosses still being a tossup between owning them and getting stomped by them), but it is a hell of a lot better than it was when the Sharpshooter update was released, much less at the start of EA. It's really fun.

SeekerSix Rocket Launcher(T2, individual rockets are rather weak, makes it up by being very cheap to both buy and refill, also rockets have a very high amount of stumble and stun power, especially when fired in a full six shot barrage, also has slight homing capabilities)

Agreed. Suicidal is the most fun difficulty because it's easy enough to dick around in, but difficult enough to not be a total snooze fest. I personally prefer HoE, because there's more to kill and it's more of a challenge when doing silly loadouts, but Suicidal is definitely easier and more fun when you have retards on your team which is almost always. Problem is, just like KF1, the higher level community is really toxic and alienating. Basically, do what we want or we get pissed and yell at you and sometimes kick you. So many players are scared of being bullied by some skilled shitbag. When people finally work up the courage to play Sui/HoE, they realize it's not so bad.

That only shows how casualized KF2 is.
In KF1 weapons balanced through recoil and damage dealts per shot, shots need to be precise at long distances when hipfiring. In KF2 they're rather pinpoint most of the time and only tiered through damage or dps. Specimen have bigger hitboxes. None of the combat in KF2 happens more than 30 meters distance because of map design.
Also health in KF1 is a bigger issue since you won't be getting free armor or damage reduction from your Medic. Once armor is gone in KF1, you either do the combo right against big bads or meet your end. Not even mentioning specimen really hit hard in KF1 compared to KF2. Everything happens way too fast in KF2 that's why game don't punish you at all because you can't even divide attention like the first game.
KF1 required you to have attention span and awareness of a rat over whole environment as a wrong move would get you cornered and killed. In KF2 that element can be forgotten with stock bashes, sprints and reload cancels.

All things aside you should be doing fine in KF1 Normal difficulty as a lvl1 or lvl2. Check what's around you often, and learn when or not to use grenades and god's sake aim with the viewmodel from hipfire.

KF2 just rewards spam too much. Spam worked in KF1 as well, but KF2 basically requires it. The way the aggro works in KF2 and some of the spawns in later waves make it almost impossible to pull away a single big to combo it.

Sure, KF2 doesn't have as many combos, techniques and speed kills as the first game that you can reliably pull off, butit still has some really fun ones. It's just a shame you can't really pull them off reliably because of the massive meatwall spawns where it's 3 Fleshpounds and 3 Scrakes all bunched up together walking at you.

That's true. That's a lot like the first game with flinches and mini-flinches. Anyone shooting the Scrake during your flinch would immediately cancel the flinch and you'd start getting sawed. Grenades also broke the flinch and hotboxes of Scrakes, and stuns would ruin it too. Both games have the same problem, other people being retarded and ruining your moment for a badass, creative quick kill.

The biggest difference is that 1 is a little more predictable and more controllable thanks to the simple aggro and less massive spawns. Not to mention it's much brighter and easier to pick out what zeds are coming. KF2 has so many issues with the aggro and how fucking dark it is. Not to mention with all the Alpha Crawler gas and how everything blends together in one mesh of dark red, dark brown, dark grey it's much harder to see when a Scrake shows up in the mix. I'm always squinting and moving around wondering if that's a Scrake coming. I really want visual mods to make the zeds brighter or the whole game brighter.

Suicidal is best for pubs (which is what I play) for the reasons you described. HoE seems like it's built for a coordinated group of friends, not random strangers.

The Suicidal "community", as it is, doesn't seem to be that bad at all. The only kicks I've seen recently are to make room for friends. The "REEEEEEEEEEEEE PLAY LIKE I WANT REEEEEEEEE" shit and kicks if you aren't playing 100% meta comes from HoE.

I used to think the same for KF1, but it got to the point where you had enough powerful weaponry that most classes could contribute a bit to fighting the boss, making the Patraitch fun to fight.

The KF2 bosses are a bad mix of bullet spongery and instakills out of nowhere. Hans is straight-up unbeatable most of the time if you don't have a Zerk blocking and parrying him 24/7 (with a medic to constantly heal him, of course), and the Patriarch can easily delete players with a sudden close range minigun or mortar burst.

It's so nice seeing all the specimens lined up. They really hit the nail on the head with the enemies in KF1, just like DOOM. Perfect mix of everything and you can immediately pick out every single one without any confusion. Great designs.

It's a shame that in 2 they didn't really add many other zeds yet. Alpha Clot and Alpha Crawler are good additions and they really stand out which I love, but the Alpha Clot needs something else. It needs to be tougher and the Alpha Crawler needs to have less visually intrusive gas. I know they toned it down once, but it's still too much. It should just be like glowing green goo on the floor that you get hurt if you step in. It shouldn't be visually impairing gas. So many of those fuckers spawn on HoE it's just a mess every game.

I also feel like they aren't sure what new zeds to add. Like they are so scared of throwing off game balance that we just get more variants of trash that dies in one headshot. Cyst and Slasher are pointless, and next I hear we're getting a gorefast with 2 blades, which also sounds pointless. We should have another mid-tier zed, or a mid-game boss.
