I didn't bother to Industrialize until I got 4% clergy in my home provinces to get them above 30% lit score score. Perhaps I should have seeded some basic industries like glass and cement in Granada? It helped not industrializing early so I could run a liberal government though.

Hey /gsg/, is personal demesne balanced and historical in ck2? It seems that having an extra piece of land as your personal demesne is far superior to granting it to a vassal in the game.

I'm asking in good faith here, since I recognize I'm no expert on medieval history. But from what I understand, the personal demesne in this game seems ahistorical since
1. kings granted manors to nobles in exchange for military service. If the king let a castellan or a steward take care of a piece of his land, would the castellan be able to contribute as much as the nobles do militarily?
2. If nobles got a large cut out of the fruits of the land they were granted and only transferred a portion of it to their liege, why didn't castellans do the same with the land they were (temporarily) granted?
3. If having so much of the land as your personal demesne was so great, why did kings grant land to nobles in the first place?

TL;DR There is no friction from the resources gathered by castellans and delivered to the king, while there is a great deal of friction when nobles are involved. That doesn't seem right.

I played Sardinia-Piedmont in HPM trying to unite Italy but I couldn't get the event to get help from France to get Lombardy from Austria because France wouldn't ally me even at 200 relations, then some rebels spawned in Rome and I got the event to unite Italy and this happened.

How do you even Gran Colombia in Divergences of Darkness?
For some reason you start at war with Spain and a big chunk of your territory is under their control, so you get galloping WE. Also, you don't have a navy of any sorts and they will just blockade every single of your provinces, your stupid gay party won't allow lowering military spending and as a result you will get 100 of interest before going bankrupt.
You can't supply your armies and as a result, Spain (which has as much, if not more, armies than you in the new world, despite being on the other side of the atlantic) will destroy your stacks in 1-2 turns.
I'm guessing the AI has super buffs because I've seen them win a lot, no way the AI can manage the economy and survive like this.
