One thing I dislike about ELFX and RLO - On SSE, is that with ENB they make nights WAY too fucking dark. The elder scrolls universe has a moon, and it has a sun. So it shouldn't
t mean that the nights are darker than being in a pitch black cave.


I'd understand if I WERE in a dark cave, but since I'm NOT then why the fuck is it pitch black outside. It's just stupid. Don't get me started about the dark interiors, as if fire doesn't give off any god damn light when it's not enclosed by something?

It's sad because it does add some nice effects to the game..

After installing the lock-on mod I end up with no PC attack voices when starting a new game (works fine on older saves) and seemingly more random CTD. If I remove it, voices work fine.
Is this just script overbloat, some conflict, or an issue with this particular mod?

Morrowind and Oblivion have their own issues. Morrowind is remembered as well as it is due to writing and nostalgia, Oblivion is remembered as well as it is due to nostalgia. A lot of the issues with both games can be fixed with mods.

I'm not meaning to entirely dismiss them, I just think that acting as if Skyrim needs more mods to be made into a decent experience is foolish. Morrowind in particular is one of my favorite games of all time. I've paid for the game on CD at least four times. It's just that it's a game where people tends to forget over overlook its flaws. The way the vanilla game handled combat was already outdated in 2002 and many people will find it nigh unplayable now.

As for Oblivion, it amazes me how much opinions have changed given the amount of wailing and gnashing of teeth there was about it when it released and for years afterwards.

That's exactly what it needs.
Everytime a combat mod comes out or gets updated, there's always plenty of talk about it, trying to figure out which is the "best" mod for the inherently flawed combat of skyrim. More so than mods for other game aspects.

The reason I don't really get why you get bored of 3 and 4 easily is because there's more than just combat in those games, and even then the combat has more depth be it moves in oblivion or fancy magic in morrowind.
Skyrim combat is flawed, and so is oblivion and morrowind combat, but without mods skyrim is the worst of the three outside of non-ironic stealth archer.

Let me remind you that in unmodded Morrowind every time you swing a weapon you first have to actually hit your enemy with it, the game then rolls dice based on your skill level with that weapon to determine if you actually hit or not and if you don't make it you don't actually hit.

Instead all draugr caves are basically the same, all ice caves are basically the same, and all dwemer dungeons are basically the same although they did a great job with the ones in Solstheim, credit where it's due

The boss that you have to fight has this ice scythe that generates similar attacks you've seen in Vigilant (sword beams and etc) but there's one new attack that I've never seen before. Basically she places ice crystals around you in a random pattern on the ground and after time, they'll explode. So you need to keep moving around and make sure you don't get hit by them.

So I recently started playing around with summon type spells. Summoned friendos like Atronarchs don't get any stronger as your Conjure skill increases?

This games vanilla magic system nakes no sense.
