Don't go online with it yet.

Check if its 11.0 firmware. If it is, proceed.

Manually configure the internet connection settings with 107.211.140.065 for both DNS settings.

Then try to use browserhax to get menuhax.

If that works then you're set for slowhax when that arrives. If it doesn't work then still don't update, you can use a game card exploit instead.

Just switched from my gateway 3ds setup to luma3ds. Do my game files go on the same SD? For gateway I had to use a second SD connected to the cartridge.

I've noticed that there are 3 folders that meet this criteria

The first folder I see only has extdata in it.

The second one has backup, dbs, extdata, and title in it.

The third one has dbs, extdata, title, and the 00000000 folder in it is empty.

Which one is the homemenu extdata?

For your .3ds games, use the Gateway menu to mount the game of your choice then use JKSV to export the save.
For your .cia games, launch JKSV then use the .cia list to export the save.

To get them onto your other 3ds, find the .cia in JKSV's list and choose the import option instead.

DS software runs mainly on the ARM9. There's no OS running, all DS games read from the card slot by directly poking the hardware registers. You have to patch the game itself at a very low level.

Furthermore in DS mode only the ARM7 can read from the SD slot while most games do card reads from ARM9. So niw you have to patch another thread into ARM7 to accept requests from ARM9 to fetch data. Which is real finnicky.

I was thinking it'd have linux, but knowing nintendo they've probably rolled their own OS just for this.
Anyway, better specs than a 3DS, but it has to output 10x the pixels.
(Unless you're running a game in super low res then up scaling, like every game on the thing).
Also I haven't looked at a video of it running yet to see it's UI, I'm guessing it'll be all flashy and floaty and shit.

You need to download the card's firmware/kernel to put on its SD card. There are also unofficial firmwares for some cards like Wood, YSMenu and akaio.
If the card is truly ancient (usually pre-DSi cards) you'll also need NTR Launcher or TWL Slot-1 launcher.

The only DS card which plays GBA games is the Supercard DSTwo. It's worse than emulators and much worse than VC injects.

R4i Gold was considered a solid choice, so that should still be fine.

Tried to make a patch for ACNL that replaces the music.
While they .romfs works perfectly with HANS and the title screen is replaced, my save isn't there. It loads as if I just started the game.

2.2 - QCMA PSP SAVE METHOD (FASTER):

- Open QCMA on your PC
- Right click on QCMA on your taskbar and click on Settings
- Check under "Applications / Backups" to locate your PSP save directory
- You can find your PSP save folders under PSAVEDATA and inside a folder with "Random Numbers and Letters"
- If you have no PSP save folder you can just create a new folder inside the "Random Numbers and Letters" folder located inside PSAVEDATA
- Inside your PSP save folder you should create a new folder and all files should go inside this folder
- After putting all the files you want to transfer inside a folder in your PSP save folder right click on QCMA under your task bar and click on Refresh Database(always refresh your database before transferring anything to your vita)
- Now plug your vita to your PC via USB and go into Content Manager
- Go to PC -> PS Vita System and Applications and into Saved Data: PSP/Other and select the PSP save folder you want to transfer
- After transferring close Content Manager in your Vita and go into Molecular Shell
- Go into ux0:pspemu/PSP/SAVEDATA/ and you should find your PSP save folder inside
- Go inside your PSP save folder and press square to select which files you want to move and then press triangle and move to move the files to any folder inside ux0: and out of SAVEDATA/
- After moving your files out of your SAVEDATA/ directory go back to your PSP save folder you just transferred from your PC and delete it

Note: This method seems more complicated than it actually is so don't be fooled by the guide. Transferring your files via PSP save is MUCH faster than FTP, however if you're transferring several thousands of files FTP might be actually slightly faster but in either case it'll take a lot of time. The remaining time displayed when transferring via QCMA is not 100% accurate so don't be afraid if it tells you that it'll take 1253 minutes to complete the transfer. its always wrong

Depends on the firmware it ships with. If it's old stock it might still be running 9.2, though that's not super likely. Depending on what it is if more recent, you might be able to do a downgrade or you might have to wait it out on the current firmware for a few weeks or months.

the d2x cios installers should help you find out whats going on in there but you might get away with just trying to boot the games anyway and if it works don't ask too many questions about the innerworkings.
There are homebrew apps designed to help restore ios modules to their default states if need be, wiibrew has more info on that. I think syscheck is one of them. Make sure to tell the difference between wii and vwii versions of things, i don't know if the wii cares about vwii designed versions but the reverse is true.

(1. Inject an old NAND backup from when you were still installing a9lh (I did one before))
(2. Use Decrypt9 to extract movable.sed from it)
3. Use Decrypt 9 to extract movable.sed and LocalFriendCodeSeed_B from your current NAND that is banned
(4. Use HxD (hex editor) to compare your old movable.sed with your LocalFriendCodeSeed_B, see how offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07 is the SAME!)
5. Open up your NEW movable.sed with HxD and copy offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07
6. Open up LocalFriendCodeSeed_B with HxD and CTRL+A and then paste what you just copied
7. Save, inject to sysnand
