Ace Attorney, obviously. Danganronpa has mystery elements too but its quality is not consistent and it's more outlandish. Zero Escape games and other Uchikoshi stuff have large mystery elements but usually touch sci-fi themes, so they're not pure mysteries.
Umineko and Higurashi both are "mysteries" but their resolutions leave much to be desired, especialyl Umineko. Beyond that I can't think of any off the top of my head other than what you listed.

Well I finished this VN. At times it seemed like it had promise but it never managed to deliver. What a disappointing ending.

I took so many notes on strange things I found only for it to mean nothing. For example, Yuri in 2016 actually notices Kotomi on the train, though it's framed as nothing important. The only reason you can tell is cause Kotomi goes after her boyfriend's fingernails, which was referenced one other time. My notes are filled with shit like that, it's infuriating.

All in all it was an entertaining ride, but eh.

As far as I can tell, yeah that's what went down. MYTH definitely has something to do with the Houinkyo cult, probably, unless that was just a fake too, but most likely what happened was they got accepted into some Houinkyo prioritized program that spawned MYTH.

As for that second bit, I think Ruri might just be the bit of Ryouko that got downloaded into the program before Ryouko set out to walk around in the wastes forever. I think Ruri and Kiki might have just been buried another layer deeper in MYTH (Aguni) than the World of Shadows, and were brought up afterwards. I don't know what I'm talking about because it's confusing and I beat the game in like 3 sittings.

I think that's true, yeah. I was irritated by the lack of closure on that world's front, but it does make sense if the entire point was to make it an obvious farce and thereby destroy it. All in all, I don't know what the fuck actually happened despite all my notes. It's a tough game. I'm still pissed off about that optical camouflage system that was talked about for like half a scene, that would only work if you didn't have a shadow, that was completely ignored thereafter. Was entirely certain that was going to come up in the bit where Meito stabs himself in the MYTH (a) timeline. fucking MYTH dude...

forgot to address the Meito being the father bit. I think that was included in the video initially to just freak Meito out that much more and confuse him, and he ended up having to re-enact it. I remember Ryouko expressing confusion at herself calling Meito Yuni's dad in that re-enactment bit, so I think that was just a case of Character overriding Will again.

I figured the Houinkyo cult was created by Odin and was how she was going about messing with MYTH. As for the optics stuff, that was just a red herring wasn't it? The reason Meito didn't have his shadow was because his shadow was Berserker.

The game definitely lacks closure, but I think that's just because some things were poorly explained. There's gotta be some explanation out there, even if it's in Jap.

And yeah, I guess Yuni made herself to be Ryouko's daughter in the real/fake world since she's an AI created by Ryouko and is her daughter in that sense.

What I don't get is what made Odin give up on her desire to make a new world. What did Meito do to make her stop?

While I think that The House in Fata Morgana was a great VN, there are some minor things that were less than perfect. What bugged me a little was how, especially in the older stories (like 1099 or Morgana's story) people would talk about concepts and had world views that wouldn't fit at all the time period.
Like when they talk about psychology, subconscious, and things like that, or even just the way they talk and make jokes. It wasn't bad, but in my eyes it was blantant that they didn't fit the historical context, I feel like there are a couple of instances where a sentence could've been turned around to have the same meaning and feel and also be historically appropriate.

And that's all, really liked the ending and how they gave closure to Michel's brothers too, though I would've given that matter some more time and exposure, adn I think it would've turned even nicer.

Yeah, that's Japs for you. It happens a lot in historical visual novels. Still, I guess it's kind of a question whether or not it's worth it to go that extra mile. It isn't too bad in the first three doors, and I felt like Door 3 was nailed in terms of the tone and dialects (the sleezy industrial sobs that Jacopo hangs around were voiced perfectly, for example). It was mostly the REALLY early stuff--in Michel's time period--where you notice the discrepancy between the historical setting and what they're discussing. I guess it didn't bug me too much, though.

I think it would've been a lot greater, in particular in a story like this where you could compare how the same things are resolved or talked about differently in different periods - and especially in Morgana' story where you could've seen how the same characters, while being the same, would do and treat little things differently because of the different time period. I love stuff like that.

Nice for the fandisc, though probably it doesn't have the same momentum as it would've in the main story, but I'm looking forward to it.

I think Georges was handled very well, but Didier definitely needed a bit more. But it's good they gave him closure at all--I honestly wasn't expecting him to become relevant again. Then I re-read it a few months ago and realized that they actually foreshadowed Didier being outside the mansion as early as Door 2/3. It's really impressive how the visual novel tied everything together. There are so many set-ups and pay-offs, and basically no unfired Chekhov's Guns.

But, yeah, Didier is apparently the one that gets the most screentime in the fandisc, I think. He shot up in the popularity rankings in Japan after the FD was released.

The best thing about Fata Morgana is how they play with the reader's expectations in my opinion. How they set up something to then unveil it and show how it was something else entirely. They really did play me quite some tricks.
It's nice to see how good writing is like good music, always playing with the listener expectations.

It's a classic chuunige. If you were into the fights and shit from FSN and not so much necessarily the historical hero lore or the Archer/Emiya time loop shenanigans, it has much of the same emphasis on fights and showdowns. Just with a different sphere of lore dressing up the action.

If nothing else it's far from your typical moeshit, so in that sense it might be worth buying.
