I think this is the first game (that I can remember) that actually made me answer out like that, it's just somehow manages to form such a bond between Pilot and Titan, and the short greeting just adds so much to that.

And I agree on feeling bad when the Titans blow up, the worst feeling being dying after Titanfall then finally coming back to see your Titan getting gangraped and almost at self-destruct..

There seems to be a hell of a lot of camping going on in Titanfall 2 compared to the first one.

two reasons for that:

1) really short ttk + controller aim assist means that killing fast moving pilots is trivial. your speed doesn't provide much defense and really puts you out in the open

2) a lot of camping tools like A-wall, sentries, pulse blade/map hack, amped DMR/hemlock/R201 killing nearly instantly.

It's kind of frustrating, I feel like they catered to shitters too much this time around. Stuff like AWall and sentries shouldn't be in the game at all.

I had my hopes it would end with the first update. That Respawn would see the numbers of Tones, the abundance of certain weapon types, the imbalance of clock and phase shift over everything else and do something in the way to make the rest of the ingame content worthwhile to use in a competitive sense.

With this latest update they might have been forgiven with not releasing any balance changes, this stuff was probably in the pipeline months ago. But then you look at the addition of a three round burst for Tone. It's a simple change but how can anyone not see the potential for this? Not only do Tones missiles already require zero recharge time, they will now be able to lock onto an enemy even faster.

I simply cannot comprehend why they felt this was needed. Even if changes are made to the damage numbers or accuracy of the cannon's shots this will provide another avenue for Tones to spam their missiles. If the accuracy remains it'll be a simple task of popping round corners, firing the burst shot, popping back and firing missiles. Charge up another burst and repeat. If the accuracy is nerfed they can simply move to close range and do a dance round the enemy. Dance, charge, fire burst, fire missiles.

This wasn't needed AT ALL and will only go to further imbalance the titan classes in favour of a class that literally has no weakness already. My only hope at this point is that balance changes do exist and simply haven't been revealed yet. But considering this update drops next week, that's hard to believe.

Anyone have a solution to this? I've tried everything from reinstalling directx, clean uninstalling my AMD drivers via guru in safe mode and reinstalling updated versions. Doing a clean install of TF2 didn't work and neither did using origin to repair and update files. I turned off origin in game and I don't have any other overlay software.
My specs are
Processor (CPU): AMD FX 8320 Eight core 3.5GHz
Graphics Card (GPU): AMD Radeon R9 270x with 6Gbs of available graphics memory and 2GBs of dedicated video memory.
Memory: 8GB

Tone is the definition of anti-fun. Being able to snipe a pilot from across the map with one round is just retarded. Being able to crit titans with the 40mm, missle barrage pretty much has no cooldown and deals massive damage. Sonar pulse adds a lock so you only need to lock twice and reveals both titans and pilots, and particle wall makes tone basically 0 risk 100% reward. And that's not even mentioning salvo core. How did that shit even make it past testing? Wind up time is near instant, homing rockets just by moving your mouse and can bring a scorch from full HP to doomed? And to add salt to injury, if you release all your rockets and then hit your target, all of them add to your next salvo core charge. So you not only get to instantly doom a titan, but you also get 30% off your next one too.
Tone's too efficient at killing both pilots and titans with minimal effort. Want to go fast as a pilot? Nope any Tone with good aim will just obliterate you no matter how fast you're going. Want to play Northstar? Nope Tone will outperform you at those ranges. Want to play Scorch or Ronin? Nope Tone will just wittle you down before you even come close, and particle shield prevents you from fighting back at all.
The only really effective counters to Tone are Legion and Ion, but it's absurd when you're up against a team of tones.

Ronin is extremely good against pilots. Some of my best games are when I get my titan first and I just fucking have my way with the enemy team. It's fast enough to catch people out of in the open and I find people are actually scared to get close enough to Ronin to rodeo it. Emergency battery helps too.

I'm actually hoping Tone gets a nerf because of how frustrating it is to fight against. My personal recommendation would be to bring it down to Scorch/Legion levels of mobility (no more built in dash) but we're more likely to see lower missile damage output (which would be fine too)

Ronin is sort of like Ion in the sense that you need to learn to stop doing certain shit. You need to stay as far from people as your shotgun lets you so you can force people to miss and drag out your tiny HP bar. Phase dash is the fucking sexiest thing, almost twice the distance as a regular one and you're invincible and intangible during it.

Fire your shotty into the air, the 6 pellets have pretty noticeable tracer, you basically want to be landing 4-6 of those on whatever you're shooting at.

You gotta tailor your engagement to what you're up against too. The heavies are fucking huge, you can get most of the pellets on them as far back as right before damage drop off. Legion you basically need to be a pokey fuck but that's real easy considering you always have atleast 2 dashes on him and keeping the gun spun up makes him slow as fuck. You can just wait out his shield alot and if he stops shooting you for a bit, phase dash, and bam, wasted powershot.

Ronin can actually eat Scorch alive. Dash away from firewalls/patches or just fuck phase dash OVER them. Stay out of flame shield range. Viola, a fast slow heavy that is trying to DPS race your shotgun and arc waves with thermite shots.

Laser shots hurt but Ion doesn't really have the constant output to put down a titan that's in his face aside from the core so you just need to avoid getting poked down before you engage him.

If you catch a Tone without his shield just dance around him, maybe save phase for the rockets, if he shield up in your direction either blow dashes and phase to back off or fucking yolo into his face, make him do self damage and try to get the execute as soon as it's available

Just don't get sniped on the approach and you fuck Northstars up, also phase dash clears tethers.

You basically DON'T want to hold lanes. You want somebody to push. Baddies push? Hide somewhere and start fucking with the last guy while being ready to head to THEIR spawn to escape, or just try another lane and see if you can come back around the pushers. Your guys push? Join in, use them as meat shields or drive up an abandoned lane and assfuck the guy that moved over to help with the push.

Not if he has the Inferno Shield kit. It has about the same damage output as the Ronin sword, along with Scorch having almost twice the health of a Ronin.

As a Scorch pilot, I'm most nervous of Ronin when they keep their distance and just rain the shotgun on me. They can outmaneuver the thermite shots and firewalls easily, and unless the terrain is in your favor its impossible to close distance and melt face.

The thing is, it's a matter of time. The thermite launcher on it's own, without people standing still in the little burning bits does so little damage than a Ronin can seriously just keep reloading and blasting away as long as he stays out of the rest of the shit.

Arc waves go through shields too, and the phase dash is so long that you can be just outside flame shield range and still dash right THROUGH the Scorch and sucker punch him a bit so long as you back off before he reorients and if you haven't used it already.

Just a second of thermal shield in the face is enough to really put the hurt on a Ronin and the flames can be used to further limit where he can go. A good Scorch thinks two steps ahead (again, asking for a lot with most randoms to be fair.)

Just had a 3k score 27 kill 6 titan kill 0 death bounty hunt game, that's like my third or fourth 20+ kill no death BH game. fucking stat api when. jesus christ, i'm pretty sure I'm the best bounty hunt player on PC, im like 67 for 80 on wins right now, i just hit lvl 50 and I consistently hit 20 kills and 2k score. Thing is, Tone mains never have good situational awareness. They're easy to box in and wreck with Scorch or Ronin as long as you can get reasonably close.

Flatline is really good close range, it probably kills faster than any other automatic. At longer ranges the recoil makes it kind of crappy. I think it's worth a buy, especially since it's the last thing you unlock.

I've been considering getting Titanfall 1, since it's pretty cheap, and I am really liking Titanfall 2. Would there really be any reason to get it though? I do like the idea of customizing my titan, though I assume there's isn't much of a player base other than the people who are really hardcore TF1ers who will totally wreck my shit.
