I'm not even that good at this game but I fucking team wiped the entire enemy team TWICE on crash site. Tried again on eden and this dude just kept running up to a short roof and sitting there. Literally as soon as he would die, he'd just sprint to this one little corner and chill.

-novid (Disables intro videos)
-high (Force Titanfall to launch as a high priority process)

+cl_showfps 1 or 2 (Displays the game FPS at the top-right (1) or top-left (2))

Anybody got any tips/tricks for Legion? Just passed lvl20 and its my favorite titan thus far.

I'm new to titanfall and my friends told me that the longrange mode does more dps but I'm finding out now that it doesn't, and uses 2x the ammo, so I need to get better about switching to short range mode.

Do titans have weak points I should be aiming for or is it all one massive hitbox?

Best setup? I'm using the dash and extra ammo.

Dash is mandatory.
Either extra ammo or extended core for kit.
Crit points are cockpit and fuel tanks on the back.
If you see Scorch closer than three dashes from you run away.
DPS is the same if you are landing all hits, which is easier with long range mode.
Not much tricks to it. You are a shittier tone so you play about the same - faceroll the enemy unless it's a tone or close Scorch.

Dash core is a must
Extra ammo is useful against Tones since it cuts through their shields a bit, and leaves them exposed
Long range mode is for titans, close range is for pilots
Charge shot shoots like a shotgun in close range mode, like a sniper in Long
Shotgun charge is good for pilots, sniper charge fucks titans up
Your core is a literal aimbot a la smart pistol, feel free to use it if you are engaged by multiple pilots

Don't stop shooting until you can't see anything to shoot at

Oh and i for got to mention, be mindful of when you use your shield, it is very reliable and it can help you shit on Tone and Scorch but you are extremely slow while using it and can't back out unless you reload

Don't use it in front of a Ronin, it's a surefire way of getting yourself killed and pop it if an Enemy Ion caught too many of your rounds

Trust your shield for any encounter, if it's not ready, take cover until it is

Is there any reason to even bunnyhop on console? I switched to Evolved and I feel like it always just leaves me really fucking vulnerable, and it's much more difficult to use my tactical and melee effectively. Everyone on console just camps or uses cloak anyway.

There are two distinct mindsets for pilots:

1. Boring, COD style coverhumping and cornerpeeking gameplay (or A-walling). Twitchy people can fucking goose highflying, acrobatic pilots in the blink of an eye on PC.

2. Be the highflying, acrobatic, constantly bouncing pilot. This is objectively the most fun way to play but sometimes you get goosed out of the air by an amped DMR or a 40mm round and it's just depressing.

What's fucking retarded is that having sub-par ping (~100 or so) actively protects you when doing #2. I talked with a few people who seemed to erratically stutter about in midair rather than flying in semi-predictable arcs and they reported that their ping hovered around a 100 (versus <50 that most people get with a good stable connection).

Titan meta is mostly midrange damage. Tone is objectively best because she's nearly impossible to harass for free as a pilot and her wall makes headon fights retarded. Ion has a niche in outpeeking Tone but is weak when pushed. Legion is an immoveable object who BTFOs anyone trying to push him, Scorch counter Legion. Ronin and Northstar fall into the "cool but ineffectual" bracket, since neither does sustained midrange damage while being able to protect themselves well, and both of them have cores that actively make them easier to kill.

Devotion is insane. It has pinpoint accuracy on single shots and shockingly high damage per round, the initial windup hardly matters most of the time. When it get wound up you walk around a corner prefiring and people will die on their screen literally instantly - you will kill them without a hitindicator to warn them initially, they die that fast. The other two LMGs are complete jokes.

Guys, how do I git gud with Ronin?

I feel like I get the gist of him. I can pretty reliably doom a titan or two if I get the drop on them. I've got all of his abilities down and I know how to do max DPS on enemies. However, I feel like every time I leave a fight I'm either on my last bar of health or I'm doomed. I almost never live long enough to get sword core.

How do I fight enemies without losing most of my health at the end?

Why do people hate a-wall so much? I like using it because the only weapons I like go well with it and it's good for fighting titans. A-wall buffed charge rifle with charge hack shits on tone shield.

I use a-wall mostly for its unique anti Titan properties. It also causes shitters to panic when paired with a softball.

You don't. That's the unfortunate truth of Ronin. His close-range nature naturally leads to the enemy focusing on him and him alone while his teammates remain untouched in group scenarios, while in 1v1 he's pretty much resigned to trading his Titan 1:1 rather than scoring a clean kill.

If you want a Titan that can 1v1 cleanly you play someone with an actual defensive ability that can block damage.

Few people will deny it's "good" at scoring kills or grinding down titans. People DISLIKE it because it's antithetical to the premise of parkouring around and going fast by simultaneously committing your position and making it all too easy to hitscan-goose people actually making usage of the movement system.

It makes sneaking up on A-wall users that much more satisfying, but it's fucking annoying to be running along a wall and then instantly die to a hitscan DMR shot out of a window from nowhere.

Honestly, a-wall is not the problem. It doesn't last that long to really camp with it up. The issue is hit scan weaponry in general. Hit scan guns will always be more efficient at killing in a game like this. Hit scan is the sole reason why weapons like l-star and Cold War will be pretty shit forever.

I wanted to ask you guys a question. I know this game's audience has been pushing for more people to buy Titanfall 2 rather than more popular shooters like COD and Battlefield, but isn't this gonna attract a massive wave of really trash players who will transfer their scumbag ways of playing that they use in those other games?

Recently, I've seen more Cloak or A Wall players spending most of the entire match camping or finding glitched out spots in the map to kill people with the Devotion just to get in their Tone with the nuclear ejection kit ready for when they get fucked over by a more competent player.

I certainly don't want this game to die off so quickly, but I also don't want this game to metastasize to the cancer call of duty became after COD4, which coincidentally, Respawn was a bit responsible for back when they were IW.

If you're in Scorch generally you want to get close, thermal shield does a tremendous amount of damage and works well for getting people to back into fire if you get a trap behind them. You're also going to want to avoid wide-open areas as scorch since it heavily limits what you can do, lanes are your friend as long as you can get close enough to deploy traps effectively.

I've not played Ronin much, but I've noticed I do best when I flank, which is easy considering he's sanic fast. Coordinate with a teammate and get them to draw focus, then teleport behind your target and unsheathe your katana.
Any map that has lots of pathways and obstacles you can dodge behind is where Ronin thrives.

Don't commit to killing an enemy when he's at 100% health.
Just catch him off guard, unload your shotgun, your arcwaves, maybe get a hit in, then phase dash/dash/sword block away. You shouldn't take much damage from that. Then reload and wait for your arcwaves to come back.

Only commit to killing someone if they are at 50% or lower, except maybe a northstar.
That's when Ronin can burst a target down pretty quickly using his kit. Try to get that execution, but watch the fucking eject explosions. If you're hull to hull with a titan and he ejects, use phase dash immediately, or lose half your fucking health for nothing.

Ultimately, just pick your fights. You can usually disengage from any situation and even if you fail to, I've walked away with half health from 3 titans running after me for half the map, just walking backwards, blocking and dashing.
Sword block is pretty damn effective for those situations.

Extended shield is exactly what gives you flexibility to make positioning risks only to crabwalk back into cover with your shield up through a huge exposed area. Honestly the damage is just gravy when you do manage to pin someone.

Alternatively the shield is just to make them walk backward into the flame trap you just put down and detonated since they probably aren't looking behind them.

Never fucking dash after someone unless you know their dashes are down.
