Literally any loot. Basic runewords are your friend. 4 socket swords, for that Spirit for example. Can get a lot of the runes from the Act 5 mercenary quest.

Generally 2-3 weeks for people to build their general build. A lot longer truly get BiS with maxed out grand charms and small charms, all the rune words, and more perfect item rolls.
People will probably be killing the ubers within a few days.

It is basically that. Really. Also Paragon Points.
You go Torment 1 until you gear up a bit, then T2, T3, T4... up to T13, and you also do greater rifts as you can. Grab a build you like and copy it.
Shit's pretty braindead and simple, and tier progression's more like weight progression in a gym per say.

Playing with randoms isn't much fun but it's faster paragon grinding.
All in all, the most fun you can get from D3 is playing in a party with friends and chatting along, or grinding rifts with them. Very, very different from PoE.

But last when I played, Act 3 was just barely being implemented, so you could get to Homestead and that was about it, which wasn't far at all from Cronley and his gang.

To answer your question, I technically haven't finished the game, but I did reach the final boss before dying to it.

I'd say the game picked up a bit after act 2. There is a pretty decent change in scenery in the last 2 acts. Act 3 is easily the largest act in the game. The Aetherials start throwing a few new enemies at you and the Chthonians show up in force. Halfway through the act you even get involved in a dispute between two factions and your choice decides which faction will be hostile towards you in upcoming areas, as well as the questline each faction gives you.

There are a fair amount of sidequests that send you to parts of the map that the main quest doesn't take you. For instance, there is entire large region that is connected to act 1 that you will only visit if you choose to go there randomly or get sent there by a specific faction from act 4. There are a lot of high level areas hidden in low level zones that you can access if you have certain items. Exploring every inch of the map is needed to get constellation points, so it is always worth doing.

Terrain wise there are wide open farmlands, a hike through a snowy mountains region, a foggy forest where Aetherials, Cthonians, and the two previously mentioned factions are basically having a battle-royale, a large village that has been completely taken over by cultists, one-way portals into a hellish dimension full of Chthonian demons, and a giant necropolis.

Hi guys, I'm starting up diablo 2 again on hardcore useast and I have some questions concerning necromancer stuff:

- If I use a +summoning +skeleton +mastery wand and necro head to summon my skeletons, then switch to my normal gear (e.g. beast if I was rich), will my skeletons keep the increased stats?
- Is there any way to equip trang-oul's full set for the stat bonuses but NOT transform into a lame looking ghoul with awful casting, hit recovery, etc. breakpoints?
- I noticed that trang's shield offers an increased chance of blocking but not a faster block rate. Is this something to be concerned about? I know that the base blocking speed for necromancers is awful so I'm worried that I'll get stuck in block frames and swarmed by enemies.
- I'm having trouble figuring out how to distribute skill points. I'm thinking that I want some points in summoning for some meatshields and I know I want some curses but I don't know how many points I need in summoning to keep my skeletons alive (or maybe I can ignore them and make do with revives) and I don't know which curses I need. I figure 20 points in corpse explosion is a must, but then do I have enough points to get strong bone or poison spells?
- Is there a specific balance between raise skeleton and skeleton mastery I should aim for?
- Is thorns/iron maiden useful at all? Does it work when enemies attack my bone walls and bone prisons?
- I know summon necromancers are rather slow. I was thinking about using an act 1 mercenary for the harmony runeword (provides vigor aura). Do you think that's a waste?
- If I use an act 2 mercenary should I use one with the might aura or something else? I normally like holy freeze, but I don't want to shatter corpses.
- Speaking of shattering corpses, how exactly does that work? Would the minor cold damage on obedience cause corpses to shatter?
- What base armor is ideal for a mercenary's treachery?

That's basically it. Summoner build that uses Corpse Explosion, which is to say it's just a Summoner build, because what the hell else are you going to put points into after maxing your skellies out? Unless you're playing Commandomancer, in which case you probably want to pump up curses for CC instead of CE.

I'm following this guy's sort of basic guidelines. Yeah, the point is generally to be melee attacks and debuffs alongside your merc, and the purpose of the Clay is to provide that extra slowing debuff alongside Decrepify. Doing this in Single Player as well.

would definitely do Hell Andariel, easy as fuck and does tend to drop high worth items as commonly as Mephisto (in my experience)
would probably include the top (small pack) and bottom (the quest boss Shenk) of the Frigid waypoint in Act 5 if you're fire

Mephisto's pretty easy to cheese, there's a spot on the left where he can't attack you at all and stays in range. Just have to be careful about not aggroing the guys on left and behind.
