New killer here. Played as Billy (for daily) on Ironworks of Misery last night and came across this nasty section in the main building. I was against a sprint burst, self care Claudette. Assuming they take the route in red through the window and round, is this an infinite vs Billy? Either way, assuming the player is competent, how do you catch them as Billy in this situation and how much time do you waste in the process?

Also, why the hell does chainsawing a survivor as they just unhook themselves not down them? I got meme'd on by the 5% last night because of it.

You have to wait for the animation to play out before you down them. Like literally they have to start being able to move before you can hit them. I've had to correct my timing at least 3 times to realise it just isn't possible to get a guaranteed hit at the end of the self-unhook animation.

In terms of ironworks, against worse survivors you can get them with a chainsaw if following the arrows on your pic. Else it's an infinite against ""skilled"" survivors.

If you have the addons that decrease charge time I think you can get survivors running that, but a normal Billy can't. Neither can a wraith or a trapper unless you of course trap that window, though survivors will quickly run to disarm it. you will give them the wrong idea, they promised a reworked progression system which they DIDN'T in order to hype people and make them grind as long as sales are steadily going up. You inevitably enable them into doing this shit by buying this trash.
I bought it for the same reasons, I thought the gameplay looked interesting and cool, once you actually play it, this whole killer/survivor balance shit just plays itself out. It becomes second nature since playing solo as a lone no perk survivor is HELL. You will make meager 5-10k points in a game if you're lucky and it's not worth the grind. In 70 hours I got my meg to level 35 with 4 perks aswell as my hillbilly.
You have no choice but to start as killer since it's the only way of gaining bloodpoints reliably without 4 friends you SWF with and grind this shit for hours on end. It's fucking maddening how the only way this game is fun is when there is double the bloodpoints which they do to sate the people's appetite for a sense of flow in the character progression. You can absolutely ACE one game and get 25k points and just get 3 items with it when the entity decides to fuck you over in the worst case scenario.
Just my honest oppinion.

Early on, when neither side knows what they're doing, the killer tends to roll over the survivors just because killer gameplay (which lasts throughout the game no matter how badly you fuck up) is more forgiving than survivor gameplay (which can potentially end after thirty seconds if you completely shit the bed).

When everyone is experienced and knows what they're doing, I'd say killers and survivors are even on a mechanical scale, but not on a tactical scale. Survivors are now able to coordinate their efforts (even if they're not actually in direct communication) in a way that the lone killer just can't emulate. At that point, the killer either has to strike serious blow in the first two minutes of the game, or the survivors' momentum will be too much to stop.

This is the part I don't understand anymore. If a killer tunnel visions you, you're fucked, period. I avoided the killer long enough for the other survivors to get four full generators up and running yet I get absolutely nothing for it.

Trickery and stealth anon.

Sprinting away leaves scratch marks that the killer can track you with. The killer also has a first person view so you can actually sneak right under his nose if you're stealthy enough. Put enough distance between you and the killer by going around corners, hopping through windows and using pallets then try and be sneaky to throw him off the trail.

If it's a nurse though then good luck. A good nurse will always be on your heels no matter what.

The killer has an incredible narrow and dark field of vision,and both breaking pallets and climbing leaps will basically blind him for a bit.
If you keep sprinting he can follow your tracks forever, they key it to get out of his field of vision once and then sneak around/behind him

Basically it's pretty hard to lose the killer. Whenever you stop sprinting, you're moving at a pretty slow pace, and you can't make enough distance to be completely safe while unseen. Sprint marks are gone, and the killer who was chasing you suddenly can't see you? He'll check the entire area around where the marks ended. That's why high ranked players prefer to just loop around pallets and windows and move from one pallet/window spot to another since they're almost guaranteed to be safe for survivors compared to risky jukes and attempts at losing the killer.

It's doable, but very situational.

Basically try and figure out what kind of killer you're facing during a chase. Does he try to guess where you're going and cut you off, or does he just follow your tracks blindly if he doesn't see you at the moment. You have to adjust accordingly to thwart them and find the opening that lets you walk away from the encounter if you want to escape.

In this case I had the pallet stun to work with. What you can't tell is that he also decided to break the pallet so I knew I was 100% not seen after I went through the window. Then just leave some sprint tracks leading out towards the center of the map and walk back around behind the killer.
