But yeah, it's a pretty fun place to invade. Similar to the catacombs in some ways, a lot of places to hide, a combination of small corridors and open rooms, everything from ambushing thralls to OP giants to cathedral knights to play with. Not sure how frequently you get invasions at 50 but at 30 it's surprising how often I'm getting instant invasions all the time, love it. I get a ton of watchdog invasions too, mostly I'm wondering whether I should go up to SL35 +4 or stay at SL30 +3 right now, but to be honest I'm doing just fine where I am, stocking up on embers and have around 25 swordgrass

Carthus Curved Sword is back to weighing 5.5 units

I usually use pokey weapons but I'm trying to practice with straight swords since I always avoided them before, I'm not trying to cheese people. That probably wouldn't one-shot him anyways.

SS's are fucking disgusting, btw. Fast as fuck, deal a ton of damage, have both slash and poke attacks, and both WA's are incredibly powerful (the thrust attack for roll catching and the guardbreak for fucking up anyone with a shield). And then the roll catching with the R1's, so easy a caveman could do it. On top of all that, the best moveset for it is the 1 handed so you even get a free offhand slot to use for a shield, extra weapon, or the usual parry tool.

raw ghru spear with rotten resin will poison in four hits, and poison damage is actually pretty significant at that low of a level, especially if the host doesn't have moss. It effectively will eat all their estus if you leave them alone. combine with ancient dragon greatshield for fun.

SL150, 2 million Soul memory is also the most active invasion range in my experience
