I really like the game, but it had so much potential that was wasted. The story in Conquest and Revelation is irredeemable, and birthright isn't much better.
Birthrout is terrible for obvious reasons, and Revelation has terrible balancing problems.

I think a fun way to do this might be to do a day of FE6, then a day of FE5, or try a chapter-to-chapter basis. If it gets too rough on both ends, I might just stick with FE5 until I beat that like I was originally going to do.

At least this way, if I get pissed at something, I can just switch to the other game to cool off.

It's the worst game from this decade. It has terrible characters, story, gameplay, music, artstyle, animations etc. It doesn't have any redeeming qualities at all and its fanbase is the worst nintendo fanbase to date.

Just play any other Fire emblem game. You could try FE7, it has a complex and dynamic gameplay, deep, interesting and realistic characters with thought provoking motivations and backgrounds and a story that would put to shame any other in the videogame industry. I highly recommend it over the cancer known as FE13/14 aka waifushit simulator.

Anon, you get at least one unit a chapter for most of the game and if you have 14 or less you unlock a Gaiden for another unit. Even so the game gives you several generic units lategame to use as you see fit.
The game was designed for your men to die, the prologue even has a character tell you to press on if units die and you have to sacrifice one to continue.

I can see how some people may not care for that. Personally I like the character interactions and dialogue between characters. I guess it just depends if you want to have investment into the people who could potentially permanently die as you are fighting. I am sure there is a reasonable balance between the two so that people more interested in the combat and strategy side can focus primarily on that while letting people who want to be more involved with the characters and story pursue it. I don't think and game focusing primarily on one over the other will be that good unless it is what you want out of the experience.

Birthright is the only one you really need to play if you're just looking for the fire emblem experience.

It has the new classes, it allows you do do a bunch of skirmishes and battles to play around with classes, and has better post-game options. It is slightly easier than Conquest, but neither of the games are particularly hard, so one being slightly harder is not really much of a benefit to it. The story (if you give a fuck) is better in Birthright, both sides have good and annoying characters.

If I were to choose one, I'd say birthright.

However, if you beat Birthright and feel like playing more, I'd go with Conquest then Revelations.

Perhaps "Fire emblem experience" was the wrong choice of words. I meant if he just wants to play a Fire Emblem game and do some TAKTIUL WAIFU AKSHUN, I'd go with Birthright.

Both Conquest and Birthright are easy by old Fire Emblem standards.

Birthright is the one that lets you do the most stuff, play with the new classes, play with a new A E S T E T I C, and basically just fuck around the most in.

Conquest, sure, is a bit harder and is more of a "Traditional" fire emblem game, but it's still not very difficult and you simply get to do less. In my opinion, Conquest and Revelations feel more like "what if" games. They clearly put the most effort into Birthright, and the other two feel like they were having a lark and decided to create stories for the other sides.

That is why I'm saying if he chooses ONE, I'd say go with Birthright.

I'd still play all 3, but thats because I'm a dirty FE fanboy.

By the way, I love conquest too, so I'm not bashing it.

As much as I disliked the fact that I made him initially, as Camilla definitely isn't my first marriage choice when starting a Rev/CQ run, I grew to like the idea I had over the last few months, and it kinda grew from there. I still can't decide on a name, I get stuck between Yorick and Zanther, but regardless he's quite a bit like Shigure, in that he's refined, polite, but can be a bit of a jerk sometimes, though he has his mother's tendency to become more than a little overprotective of his family (not just his parents and sister either, it extends into Siegbert and Forrest as well), and is savage on the battlefield, frequently offering to pick off the fleeing enemies from atop his Wyvern. His hairstyle is similar to Ignatius's, but not as long in back, and he actually has eyebrows. His hair is also in Camilla's color, but he has Corrin's red eyes. His supports are with Siegbert, Forrest, Dwyer, the female cast of CQ, along with Caeldori (getting special dialogue if Selena is her mother), Selkie, and Shiro. His Wyvern's name is Ellerean (except pronounced ill-ehr-ee-en), and one of his favorite pastimes is to wash it's scales while he sings.

Are there any supports in Localized Fates that are close to being 1:1, barring obvious necessary Jap-to-English grammatical changes etc? Every single one I've read so far has been changed in some way. Even the ones that are pretty close have at least a line or two of dumb shit altered or thrown in, usually just to add unnecessary levity/meme up the character.

These characters were already pretty gimmicky as it was, and they made things even worse. Like all of their shit has been even more exaggerated whether it's dialogue in their supports or their confession lines, Private Quarters stuff or whatever. Did anyone actually like these kinds of changes? Was this done for the Reddit crowd? How unfortunate.
