Added a level purely for testing the new rocketjumping movement stuff without getting bugged by AI. It features a gap jumping test, an infinite circle loop and a hidden easter egg.

To use the new jump features, all you have to do is shoot in the opposite of your movement direction, especially while being in the air.
Soft-bunnyhopping is also in the game, meaning that you can keep jumping about without holding any movement buttons, but only if you queue a jump before you land, by holding the jump button.
Try the game first without messing with any of the debug values.

Yeah in zero G there's nothing them keeping them down after the initial impact with the "ground", so you'll probably bounce a bit with every landing. Though, I think some tweaks to the flight control logic can help smooth it out.

it's an artifact of how i drew the lines, seeing as i did it in like five seconds and used the copy and paste tool to do it evenly

if you make a pair of the lines not quite 2:1 and/or offset them so that you can have an extra couple of pixels at any two adjoining faces of the square, it should be fine

this is sloppy but then again i did do it in the past couple seconds

back when i took classes in graphic design, i remember one piece of advice i was given to by my teacher was to always avoid pitch black and pure white if possible and to add a touch of lightness/darkness to them. this makes it so that they're still visible as the color your intended but theyre much easier on the eyes. plus if you never have a pure black or white color to compare them to, the average person wont actively notice the difference.

pic attached is an extreme example of what i mean

so id suggest you make your whites extremely light grays instead, as its currently pretty blinding.

I'm learning Blender. Could somebody explain what's going wrong?

When I apply the inverse kinematics to the leg and adjust the pole angle, so that the foot bone is in the correct position, it will cause the knee to bend in the opposite direction that I want it to.

None of the bones used in the inverse kinematics, besides the leg that it is being applied to, have a parent. The chain length I used is two. The upper part of the leg is kept offset to the stomach.

Even if I ignore this problem and apply the armature to the model, it will deform the character mesh around the hips. When I remove the inverse kinematics, this other problem no longer happens.

If you sculpt in blender you'll have a bad time. You basically need to work around the corners because it works only on vertex data. ZBrush works differently, I'm not sure how they did it but I've seen people say it's mixing basic vertex data with normal map painting. In ZBrush your sculpt can have 5 million vertices without any performance hit while blender would probably just crash.

Still if you don't have the money to buy ZBrush, blender is a perfectly viable option, it just have somewhat different workflow

Ive struggled with this for a while. I'm getting into it now and the biggest things ive learned are:

A) all youtube videos on good level design always highlight the same thing: Teach your players instead of telling them. E.g. if they have to learn to double jump, do an extra large gap instead of putting in a text.

B) build levels to maximise fun. Sit down with your engine in a blank space and see what you keep doing even though there is no goal. Is it the speed? The shooting? Jumping? Combos? Then make levels that focus on those things. Nothing else matters. Be 100% honest with yourself, your stealth mechanic might be cool but if it's not fun get it out.

C) See levels as steps. Make a level focus on one thing and the next on another thing. Then make a culmination level with all the things. E.g. i made a level that shows you the double jump, the boost button and 1 enemy. Then the fourth level combines all of them.

Help a shader retard out:

Trying to make an outline shader like the one in the Shaun Spalding tutorials.

It's supposed to look at each pixel and set its alpha to 1 if a surrounding pixel has an alpha of 1.

The problem is I can't figure out what to set offsetX and offsetY to in order to make it work. Right now they're set to 1 divided by the screen width and height

Yes you do. I told you that update_interval is a floating point value. When the if statement evaluates to true, i.e. the value of float update_counter is greater than or equal to float update_interval, the whole thing freezes. According to my understanding (based on the debug output window in the editor), this is all of the relevant code.

The mario tutorials require some previous knowledge of LibGDX. So I'd recommend following the flappybird ones first, despite the code layout being less useful.
They only take a few hours to complete, no need to skip the basics or get stuck needlessly.

Well it's not called physically based shading for nothing. It helps with photorealism because it respects conservation of energy. And compared to e.g. Phong shading, where you're juggling several abstract material properties trying to make something look good, with PBR you have fewer and more grounded material properties.

To finally answer your original question, yes, you typically have a separate specular colour as well as the specular power.
