ENBoost also helps with determining what your GPU renders vs your CPU if I remember correctly. If you can run SSE with no problems then you probably don't need it though. Adjusting the values when you don't know what you're doing could causes instability/crashes. You don't sound like you really want to get into the nitty gritty, so just go with what you're comfortable with editing/modding for now. By default you ''''should''''' be getting better performance on SSE over vanilla Skyrim anyway.

Anyone else play the game for a while and then suddenly the lighting/time-of-day/camera angle is so perfect that some of this shit looks like real life? Like damn, I feel like I could reach out and grab this stuff on the ground or the side of the road sometimes. It's so bittersweet though, because then the timing/lighting changes after a couple of minutes and you're back in the game where it still looks pretty, but no longer looking exactly like real life.

I feel like I'm glimpsing into the future. Eventually games wil start to look like real life 100% of the time, not jsut during that perfect lighting or time of day or weather combination. Can't wait for next-next-next gen graphics

I hear ya. I've been playing with a gtx 285 on a stock i7 920 for over 7 years and only just recently upgraded. Skyrim still looked and ran great. It's not a game that needs high fps. I had AO, DOF, ambient lighting, and other effects running with enb and other mods, and I was able to get a generally stable-ish 20 fps at 1080p on medium/low settings. If I wanted 45 or higher I could just turn off DOF and AO, or just turn off enb and turn the settings back up to high. The rig still works and runs some recent games, it just overheats a bit now.

Only upgraded because DirectX 10 doesn't cut it anymore. Can't run Fallout 4, Overwatch, Doom or any other modern game. Bioshock Infinite was its limit which is probably the prettiest game it can run.

You should extract all the files from the bsa to get it working otherwise Skyrim will crash upon loading any cell. At least for me it did.
Then you need to add bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 to your skyrim.ini if you not already have.
You can get there by ship which is on the coast northwest of Solitude.
Only a few NPCs are present in this version but nevertheless it's fun to go exploring.
And you should Verdant afterwards if you want to see some grass. Have fun!

I noticed you have screen shots using a polearm. Do you have some kind of work around for how almost all 2H weapons clip a girl's ass like crazy? Using roll doesn't work real well since if used in combination with crawl animations the 2H on your back sticks out like a giant spoiler from Fast and Furious. Bows are pretty bad too especially if one uses Random Idles.

I wish there was a way that your 'sheathed' mode is still having the weapon in your hands, but I guess that kinda makes sheathing redundant, but something like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59580/? as the default sheathed state makes a lot more sense to me since not every armor is gonna have those convenient straps. Don't we have an animation where you move with the 2H carried over your shoulders anyways?

What's the biggest difference between all of those?

For me the biggest gamechanger was SXP Redone. It basically just changes how you level up by giving you generic experience for pretty much everything you do. Then you take that experience and put it into whichever skills you want if you have the amount for that level. Makes everything more fun since you don't have to just keep blocking mudcrabs and rehealing them to boost your block skill and unintentionally raising your restoration skill. Now it plays like a singleplayer mmo and I love it. I can do anything I want and it won't hurt my skills or playstyle on top of always feeling like I'm making progress.

I think it's even compatible with requiem but I'm too afraid to find out.

Skyre was fun but it's so over reaching in the gameworld that everything needs a patch, it's just not worth the time.
Perma and Ordinator are cool but I never feel rewarded for gameplay and I'd just progress too fast, at level 2 somehow I can do crazy damage with a weapon because the first 2 perks in a weapon tree are straight damage buffs.

I've tried many times, Castanic Idle is one of my idles for Random Idles, but I dislike having only ones that don't clip since they are more specific, though I don't think the Castanic one worked either.

As for the sheathed weapon position, yeah I've tried it all. If it weren't for the fact that I used crawl it wouldn't be so bad but basically because the pivot point of a greatsword or whatever somehow always seems to be the damn handle near your shoulder, the adjustments basically make the crawl animation wonky, ranging from having a fin spoiler to literally having the sword horizontal across your neck while crawling.

It's definitely no one's fault but my own though given how picky I am about clipping yet still being greedy with the animations. Even with 1H, I have to adjust axes swords daggers maces, and it's a real hassle to put them on my back since it needs adjustments, which all again mess up when crawling.

But back to the point, while the ulterior motive is definitely cause I clip a lot, I still think it's rather silly 2H weapons are always all strapped to the back. Back then your average guy with a big sword or axe isn't gonna have just fancy shit on their armor, and more importantly it's nowhere near as easy and smooth to pull it out to fight all of a sudden.

But even then, it's more to do with polearms that shouldn't normally be strapped to the back in the first place.

Yes. Played a stealth Archer since Oblivion and decided to change things up. Now I'm a full healer, and I make sure my party stays alive long enough to keep me alive.

The game is so much more intense now that I can't just whip out my bow when an enemy closes in on me. Yeah if you mean the Racemenu ones I've used them quite a bit. I mean you can also access them through MCM but after that to tinker around with it you have to use RaceMenu anyways.

For example, the Castanic Bow animation actually seems to pull the arrows from the side quiver instead of the default, yet I don't know how to make it recognized as such, so I ended up just manually moving the quiver lower and horizontally instead of vertically, basically replicating what the quiver options in the MCM menu or quiver sliders do. Then I just manually take the crouching side quiver sneak animations and add it onto the PCEA2 file with the Castanic Bow animation and voila!

It's still a huge pain in the ass though, but still far less than me trying to cherry pick certain sword animations together while checking over each of them to see if they work together as diagonal movement. Fucking diagonal attacks have to be the hardest shit to get right, cause they use two directional attacks and kinda just melds them together. Finding two that work together in one diagonal direction is fine, but when you gotta make all 4 diagonal directions work without looking retarded you'll find even that guy who made the Oriental/Nordic/Wolf/Nameless sword animations to be having a hard time, since even among those whether it's up left/right or down left/right one of them has your actor stuttering. And I'm trying to mix and match them + others, then hoping to rename it for 1H.

If by immersive you mean by aesthetically pleasing to look at yes. I'm also sadly on a toaster (from 2009) so technically it's not even worth the effort especially when I'm pushing the limits like crazy.

I mean the fact that I'm posting here instead of devoting myself to fixing these problems or trying to work around it but just venting should say I'm not getting very far. I've even thought of just using bound weapons but my 'planned' outfit progression doesn't really fit wizardry and shit. At least not early on.

I just think Skyrim still does have a lot of potential, particularly in regards to overall immersive progression of how you look and move. What's the best mod(s) to grab for a Nature/Earth based mage? I've been looking up and down Nexus's spell and magic mods and there's not any one that looks just right.

I want to be able to conjure mobs of the spriggan family and use the swarm spell they have, but mods that add the conjuring don't seem balanced. A spriggan should be more powerful than a wolf familiar, why have it cost less to cast?

What part of the ENB causes this? I set up TKRE like the install readme suggested, and when I swapped from d3d9.dll to d3d9_SFX.dll this happened.

It goes away when I disable the ENB, obviously.

Did you guys know if you install the Dawnguard add-on, vampire characters are only a threat if using the Vampire Lord form? This means starving, raging level four vampires get treated like simple people. No more sneaking around, no longer forced to use vampire's seduction and invisibility, the whole thing sucks. There's no longer a point in feeding.
