I'm currently playing austria in KR with the goal of unifying the empire to create the damemeian federation. However I'm facing a problem with question of what I am supposed to do with the poles in my empire.

After the civilwar broke out, the people of Galicia-Lodomeria chose to stay on my side to fight for the unity of the empire.
Now the polish state is attacking me claiming Galicia-Lodomeria for their own. Since I'm obviously going to push these poles back to warsaw, I have to think about what I'm going to do after the war is over.

Should I annex them to include all polish people in the danubian federation? Should I release a vassal state (which might give them Galicia-Lodomeria because they'll probably still cores on it idk)? Or should we return to status quo and leave the borders as they are?

I've made several attempts at this, all of which have ended in failure so far. My last attempt I came closest to winning a holy war against them over Seville (I had a 89% warscore).

Here are the steps I usually take to try and win my first holy war against the Umayyad's (more specifically, what I did in my last attempt) :

1: I usually pick the marriage ambition and marry a courtier from Ireland (she has the strong trait). I then pick the "people respect wealth" choice so my prestige is around -60 instead of -260. *Note: I've been thinking of marrying the daughter of Charles the Bald who, while having usually shitty traits, will give me a good alliance*

2: I transfer my vassalage over Soria to its de jure duke so I won't get negative opinion.

3: Last time I played the game there was 3 sets of laws you can change for feudal, city, and church. But I guess they changed it now so what I do is change the feudal tax to large to start saving up money. *Note: I've been thinking of just raising it to small then eventually changing the levy sizes down to counter the negative taxes opinion*

4: Borrow money from the Jews and bribe whatever bishops have a lower opinion of me than the pope (for taxes). I also bribe the feudal lord who has the lowest opinion of me. If the opinion less than 30 but greater than 0, I usually leave it alone.

5: I buy a retinue of Light Infantry and Archers

6: Aquitaine without fail marries my mother and that results in an alliance with them.

7: I usually just wait now. I'll amass about 700 or 800 gold before even thinking of attacking. If I get called into wars, I'll just accept them and wait it out or send just a portion of my demesne levies.

8: I'm focusing on taking Seville (I can't take Granada yet) to hit their supplies and take them for myself.

In my last attempt I had an 89% warscore by completely occupying 2 counties in Seville. I had my own levies, my vassal levies, and a merc army that I bought for 150 (The Irish Band). This was costing me around -8 gold a month or so, but at 600 gold it hardly affected me. My troop stack was around 5700 and theirs was 5300. I won a battle and they went away. I went around to chase them down and won a second time. The third time they beat me to my occupied Seville county (which for some reason gives a + modifier to the defender despite being "Plains"). I lost that battle and my troop count took a significant hit. I hired another merc army which boosted my troops but despite having a bit more troops (around 500 more) my morale fell faster than theirs and I lost another battle and I just couldn't recover after that.

Do you guys have any suggestions/tips/strategies as to what I can do to survive as Asturias and "Make Hispania Great Again"?

China had a lot of slavery, the problem is, it's not like the western slavery institution. There's no accurate data for how many slaves there were, so the number acts more like a balance for production/consumption. That's getting reverted in the next patch though.

Okay so Scotland is reformed, and the province above their capital is one of the homes of the reformation, and so my provinces keep on converting but I want to stay catholic. I'm a part of the catholic HRE league, and also in the counter reformation so got to pay extra for technologies.
Is there anyway to stop my provinces converting or good mods which lower the time before I can reconvert provinces from a foreign faith. Also preferably mods that I don't have to restart for it's effects to apply

You don't need to annex them, they are in the same culture group as Italy, so you just need them released. I personally never tried but all national unions work like this, so what should happen is that after you sphere them and they aren't a puppet, they will ask to join Italy.

So I recently got into grand strategy stuff and started playing CK2 and want to move onto EU4 but I've been having some issues learning EU4, specifically economy stuff.

I'll start with only like 4 ducats per month and then by the end of the second month, without having actually built anything my income has tanked to like 1 per month and then slowly slides into negatives like what the fuck is going on here? I didn't know about that fort thing though so that's probably contributing since I tried to rapidly expand into Ireland but the economy hit remained even after the war was over so it can't solely be that can it?

It is clear that Paradox wants them to be super strong in the early and mid game. So to achieve that, they have given the Ottos insanely strong units, leaders and generals. They've also made them hyper aggressive, basically expanding out in all directions from Constantinople. They fall off in the late game when their units start to fall behind the European rivals and Janissary Decadence starts to become a problem for them, but untill then, the Ottomans basically shits on anyone and anything they want.

EU4 is not supposed to balanced, and Paradox wants nations that historically did well to do the same in the game. That being said, I understand the frustration. Any game you play as a nation that is even remotely in the neighbourhood of the Ottomans often become all about how to not get your shit pushed up in by the Kebab.

My advice is, in those situations, take the losses and just focus on making it to the late game. If you're playing as Ethiopia and the Ottos come gunning for your land in Egypt, just give them what you want, or if you're feeling up to it, try forcing a white peace. Don't get discouraged when you lose, and keep the wider goal of your run in mind.

Way too OP. The game tries really hard to make as them as strong as possible while ignoring the points that eventually led to their downfall.
I think there are several things they could do to bring them more in line.
First - disable royal marriage for the Ottoman government. No Ottoman Emperor got married before Suleyman and when he did it was a huge fucking deal that deserves it's own event chain.
Second - add a big event chain based on "Sultanate of Women" - a huge historical event that basically turned Ottomans from a violently expansionist state into a more tame and stagnant one. Basically, Suleyman fell in love and got married to a Ukrainian (!) slave girl, shat on Ottoman traditions that were supposed to make heirs strong and limit influence of Sultan's wives and mothers on the country. As a result Ottoman Empire faced good 150 years of stagnation when Sultans became pampered fuccbois puppeted by their mums/wives. Due to lack of constant expansionist wars Janissaries also multiplied and stagnated.
Third - make Janissary decadence disaster trigger based on army tradition.

That's all you can do if you can't get to state capitalist or planned economy. Researching the input/output techs and getting your literacy up helps make factories more profitable which allows capitalists to build an explosion of factories.

Your capital node collects dosh automatically depending on the value of all goods in it's region and your trade power in it. Transferring gives you +10% power in your capital node and it doesn't matter where or what you transfer, you almost always want to be transferring with all your merchants.
Collecting is for nations who have really shitty capital nodes and have power in some other node, you almost never need it.
