I dunno about enjoyed it. The problem is that I enjoyed it until I realized grinding was just pressing one button over and over, AND quests were pointless since they were less efficient than grinding and never really offered useful rewards.

I never got to the point where I get to play actual gameplay, though. I also never really had anyone else to play with.

Are there any differences between Reboot and Bera other than no trading? I thought that Reboot would feel more old-school and competitive or whatever, but it turns out that no trading just means there's not much community.

No, if you want 5th job you will need to hit 200 though, which is incredibly easy with the 5th job patch, it's like half the time to get from 180-200 as it used to be. you also need to beat temple of time questline up to the point where you fight pink bean (but don't need to beat him), and do some other stuff.

It also takes 24 hours in total, just about, to max out the stones you have to use to get to 5th job. So, that's a good excuse to get the blockbusters done if you haven't done them yet.

Phrased that wrong, it takes 24 hours to USE UP the stones. You can just not grind at all, like me, and they'll still work. They function as exp pots and fill up exp as you grind (if you choose to) up to a cap of 500m, which, after you've advanced, you can use to get that 500m exp stored in the stone.

Yeah, I should explain a bit more.

5th job starts with you going to the temple to talk to kao, and he tells you to get some stones. From the goddesses of each realm. The maple goddess gives you hers for free cause fucking maple goddess, dude.

The grandis goddess wants you to beat magnus (any difficulty, so easy works),and the masteria goddess makes you run around the world tree until you find the portal.

you get stones from each of them. When you have them all, you activate them one at a time, they last 2 hours. in those 2 hours you can grind on mobs to build up experience. Up to 500m that can be re-used later to get another 500m experience on top of the 500m you grinded out to get into the stone. So 1b experience in total.

There's 3 stones, each stone lasts 2 hours, and there's an 8 hour cooldown between them, so you use stone 1, then wait 8 hours, then stone 2, wait 8 hours, then stone 3, then you're done.

once all 3 stones have been finished/turned into potions, you go back to the memory keeper and he gives you fifth job.

It'd probably be best to restart your char, not because of the equipment (you can get new equipment in a snap, especially on GMS.) but because your character probably still has the old stat structure of x main stat+y secondary stat, but there is no secondary stat functionality anymore, so everything just gets dumped right into the main stat.

you could buy an AP reset, but it's a real pain in the dick.
