Is it possible for Phantoms to get cursed in Dark Souls 1? Because I just got sprayed with enough Basilisk juice to turn me into a Michelangelo sculpture, but I wasn't cursed.

So I made a bunch of webms showing Bloodborne weapon movesets a while back, and decided to make much better ones. Just something autistic with my sunday.

I'd post them on /bbg/, but that would be like showing cows grass. I think people familiar with das movesets but haven't played BB would find these interesting. Alot of people who played BB won't even know some of the moves, as not may people know there are 3 L1's for instance on the Kirkhammer etc

I'll dump a pomf list of all of them in a bit, for now I'll just post a few, starting with the bare fists.

ludwigs rape blade, note the straightsword has a running r1 slash like normal in the series, but it's running r2 is a running poke not unlike a katana.

Well, I was playing it all today, and I had "Your message has been rated Fine" like every 15 minutes and it was getting to the point where it was pissing me off interrupting me, saw lots of player ghosts with auras too. Seems weirdly active but it's probably a nest of diehards at this point.

I'm not a fan of the MLGS either, I think it's bloodborne iteration is the best, besides its king's field version.

The stat investment is too high for me to ever want to use it, and Benhart's Bluemoon GS is actually mechanically superior in II, due to Raw infusion.

Every game has its fair share of bad PvE. 2 has the most, for sure, 3's however lacks many very high or low points and the linearity makes that portion of the game a hassle to play.

For PvP/Coop, it does have the best matchmaking with WM (although WM is partially what caused such linearity, so a double edged sword and it was followed by other questionable online functions), however, the PvP is a hassle to play because, as much as you can prolong it endlessly by being an asshole in the other games, you needed slightly more game knowledged to abuse it. Rolls being too strong make fights with any remotely aware player last forever. Even if I cornered a guy against a wall, he'd take a few good seconds spamming rolls before dying, which is plain boring.

Yes and no.
In Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls, you can turn regular upgraded weapons into boss weapons by having a +10 Axe and then ascending it by using the Iron Golem Soul, which gives you the Golem Axe, but it just substitutes the weapon with another one, not really visually upgrading the weapon.

The current time is the end of the Age of Fire, which practically is just the age of "gods". Obviously, the "gods" don't want their age to end, so they try to prolong it by whatever means and spew propaganda of "chosen undeads", who have to sacrifice themselves, literally becoming kindling, to keep the flame going for just a little bit longer.

Becoming undead and eventually hollowing is just returning to the natural state of humans, to the little creatures they were before one of them found the Dark Soul. Said returning to the natural state happens when the balance to dark, light, is fading.
So, yes, the Age of Fire has to be re-initiated over and over again to keep the "curse" and Humanity in check. Too much Humanity, without a counter-balance, would result in awful things - we've seen it all before - Manus, the mutations of Oolacile, Darkwraiths, the Pus of Man.
However, if the "gods" wouldn't drain the light, the First Flame, to get power, to prolong their "godhood", it would exist naturally alongside the dark - and Humanity would just result in normal humans.
But since there's always a reincarnation of Gwyn, in the form of some power-hungry self-proclaimed god-king, the cycle will never be broken.

Unless of course someone would end the cycle completely and let the fire fade - ending the world as it is, for the sake of a new world.
In this new world, four new flames would eventually appear in the dark - so, maybe a new cycle would begin again. But there's also the chance that everything would play out differently. A better world. With light and dark co-existing without a power-struggle.

Or, maybe, if someone would take control of the First Flame in the form of a Dark Flame, raising him/herself to the Lord of Hollows.
But would a power-hungry Dark Lord be better than a power-hungry Lord of Light?

Maybe there's a third option, though.

Don't me wrong, I consider BB to be my favorite soulsborne game. All games lack in the level design department, most have really underwhelming second halves. BB is no different. What makes me come back to BB is the combat and the DLC. If it werent for the DLC i probably wouldn't be playing the game as much as I do. I've probably fought Ludwig 100+ times including a bl4 run since the release and I still find enjoyment fighting him and the rest of the dlc.

Knowing the boss is vulnerable after x attack but not after y attack and exploiting this fact is not skill. It's literally rote memory and knowledge.
No enemy in the souls series is difficult. If they were, no roll/block/heal would not be possible for some bosses because they are all exploitable enough that none of it is absolutely required ( which WOULD make it skill based, because timing your blocks/rolls is skill based )

So anyone should be able to instantly beat every boss after reading their wiki entry. Knowing it and actually carrying it out are too different things.

I just realized from watching a video, twin princes is a almost a good boss fight.
Due to the teleporting, you are almost required to know how to roll and block with proper timing.
If lorian attacked faster he would actually be a great boss.

You would have to change the two teleports to have a audio cue, similar to how ludwig has to jumps, one is instant and one is delayed, the instant one has a short screech, the delayed has a long screech.

Lorian teleport has the same start up animation and he can do the following: Charged blast, *teleports behind you*, or teleports overhead.
The charged one can be neglible because it has a long audio cue afterward but the two instant attacks don't. If you roll instantly on reaction you'll get hit with a roll catch by lorian's overhead, if you don't roll instantly you'll get slapped by his vertical swing.

Nito's whole thing is probably the least expanded upon compared to the other guys who dabbled into the First Flame. From what we can see, he's only interested in collecting Eyes of Death and causing shit to die ("administers the death of all life").

Now that I think about it, he's probably the comfiest lord soul holder among them all. He didn't have to get burned to shit, didn't go insane from research, didn't transform into the worst boss in the franchise. Instead he gets to chill inside a gigantic coffin while his members of his covenant bring him eyeballs. That's pretty fucking chill by Souls standards

I really really hope that From really amps up their games in the boss department area in their next soulsborne IP. Combat should take inspiration from BB, but the EVERY BOSS should be taken with the same level of care as Ludwig, Orphan, and Gehrman.
