so /poeg/ has taught me to never run maps below 1500 IIQ, or 1000IIQ with 100% atlas bonus, and I've been doing that. Never asked myself for what purpose that is though.
Is it to maximize the chance to get a return map or is it to maximize profit?
If it is for profit, after how many chaos orb uses trying to get the fitting IIQ should I stop rerolling and just run the map?
I sometimes have to roll a map 4 or 5 times to get the right IIQ, and I feel like I don't really come out with a profit after running the map.

It's a balancing act. Reduce the acceptable map coefficient and you reduce your overhead costs, leading to increased potential profit, increase it and you maintain a higher level of consistency but reduce the profit you would otherwise make.

You need to work out a coefficient that works best for you, really, and it also depends on if there are any map mods you can't run.

Because of double, even triple dipping projectile poison damage. It's not going to work as well with a melee attack where your avenues for double dipping are basically limited to AoE damage and Conc Effect. It'll hit fast, but unlike Barrage, it's not going to hurt much with just an Added Chaos.

Because there would be no good way to balance it. If you put it near STR classes, it's free damage at no cost. If you put it near DEX or INT classes, it becomes a useless keystone that no one picks, kinda like old MoM near Duelist.

The balance ofo Iron Grip lies in the commitment to either picking RT and a lot of STR stacking or traversing the entire tree for crit clusters and accuracy which is incompatible with STR stacking. It's hardly a useful keystone, more of a bandaid for niche Lioneye bow duelists.

i gotta say that after 1k hours (and dont get me wrong i'll keep playing) this is one of the WORST designed games of all time

1) half the time i die is due to framelag or offscreen reflect or synclag or something. i don't even know what causes approximately half of my deaths in this game i just suddenly fucking die. sometimes the synclag is so bad at like 20 ping that i just randomly end up warped into a group of enemies dead and the ressurect button doesnt show for a few seconds. the other half is due to the retarded skill execution i.e. ill open a strongbox and tried to lightning warp away but a fucking small rock will block the pathing and i die.

2) i'm sorry LOL but I don't have 10k hours to spend on this game, maybe life is different in new Zealand but in america we have jobs and friends and families. if you are even slightly non-autistic the only option to have a top tier character is to RMT or get extremely lucky.

3) this game's balance system is literally the following: learn what kind of damage you do and learn what you are weak to and then make the enemies resistant to your damage and exploit your weakness. this would be cool if it was an actual AI, but it's not it's just a worthless fucking affix that makes the game harder for me. tell me, why did i level up 90 levels just so that the game could counter me with affixes at every turn, FULL RESPEC doesn't even matter within a few maps the game readjusts to you and will continue to flood you with affixes that make your life a living hell

4) most uninspired skills ever

5) passive tree literally consists of health tax nodes that you have to take, full respeccing is literally one of the most expensive things you can do in the game why?

Blight was always doomed, because it was always gonna be chaos lightning tendrils.
Incinerate is effectively a better Desecrate totem for fire builds, because obviously fire builds needed a buff, unlike the ice and lightning builds.
Blady Flurry is gonna get nerfed hard, because melee (and even 'melee' like this) are just not allowed to be good or fun, ever.

Marauder juggernaut or duelist slayer. Both work pretty well. Just take a standard template, they almost all look the same anyway. Only differences I see between earthquake builds are if they get certain offensive nodes (that have AS) or not, or if they get endurance charges or more offensive nodes.

There is very little variation. You can build 2h ice crash the same way as earthquake by the way. And since 2h > 1h atm due to ancestral warchief I'd say your only option is to go 2h as melee.

Seems bretty good on a new server where you literally just need a +2 helmet and as much energy shield as humanly possible, the 6th link isn't even as dramatic for your spectres so you can just 5link some insanely rolled 800es chest.

You can chose your difficulty in this game.

If you want to play on very easy mode you just equip any skill that starts with ''blade'' , preferably the one that is currently the most overpowered / newest. Then the only extra thing you have to do is get discipline vaal discipline and build energy shield since for some reason GGG thinks its balanced you can have 2x as much energy shield than you can have health.

I think after 2.1 or so GGG just stopped nerfing stuff and were like ''meh its alright''. Last time GGG balanced the game was when they nerfed flame totems, firestorm, ice storm,incinerate, cyclone. And from there they just let it all go, made ascendancy so things got even more insane, let vaal spark go around and then let blade vortex in its current state. Oh and also flameblast totems.... yeah balanced LMAO

ES gear is usually way more expensive than life gear.
You don't really need a 10k+ buffer until maps.
It's easier to level up using life.
Most people don't reach maps.

Nope, increased duration would increase the curse duration (skill duration), not the chill/freeze duration which is reduced to zero (non-application) under a threshold:

If you assume at the very least 6k life (otherwise why bother trying to get 20% life regen), you would need a cold hit of at least 5% your total hp to get frozen, so 120 cold damage at least or 480 pre-resistance mitigation. This is rarely going to be the case, except maybe for those cold skeleton mages or added cold damage maps.

To bypass that threshold, you could use an Auxium to make freeze duration based on your ES instead, and have very little ES. But in order to get somewhat reliably hit by cold damage, you only have Taste of Hate pretty much. Fire damage, Lightning damage, Chaos damage, Physical damage without ToH and degen would not proc any freezes.

All in all, it's pretty much an impossible concept to build around. You need to be a Juggernaut to move around while frozen. You're committing to at least 3 uniques that are otherwise dead weight except for that very unreliable 20% life regen proc and have zero life. You'd be better off doing some weird ZO CI build with a third of the regen, and triple the ES, that would have 100% uptime on the same amount of flat regen and no downside of using shitty uniques. Dy'ness standard ZO CI tank has something like 5k flat ES regen? That's 66% life regen for a 7.5k life build.

It's really not that hard to get the kind of mitigation needed to match 10k ES and no armour on a life build. The vast majority of lab runners are life builds and don't get blown up by a random Izaro off-screen slash. Spatial awareness and manual dodging still remains the best defense.

Using shift with Leap Slam is important, though it will still be slow until you have attack speed on your weapon and a lot of attack speed from either the tree or gear as well.
