It's not really QoL. With Rapid Decay it has a 1.275 second duration, which is a fairly strict timeframe given for repositioning. You need to stop, move, then recast before it falls off or your damage is gonna be shit. With Less Duration, this becomes 0.65 seconds, which is really pushing the line.

I guess if you are being absolutely optimal and can channel > move > channel with perfect precision, Less Duration would be better, but I don't think that's realistic.

Faster Casting also increases ramp up time, which effectively increases dps against non-boss mobs which are gonna die before you hit 8 stacks.

What are some builds making the best use of EE?

is Bino's strong enough to at least map with Blade Furry / Assassin with poison stacking?

Elemental Equilibrium? Things that abuse it are generally DoT's cause they don't count as a hit so you can proc EE and then use it.

Scorcing Ray is actually good with it since it doesn't register as a hit. Fire something like a Ball Lightning to proc and then Scorching Ray.

The problem with EE is that you really can't group with people that deal elemental damage unless they're an Inquisitor. EE is a really shitty keystone node though honestly, it's creative but the game is so geared to not making it work. Stuff like Spell Echo pretty much guts it as well as Heralds/Auras for damage.

Great single target if you build it right. I had an RF Chieften on Standard, picked up a low level gem from the vendor, quickly leveled it to level 15, and with RF/Scorching Ray/Ele weakness aura, took down bosses really fast. You'll need an AoE clearing skill, cuz it currently sucks at that.

Tested it on a tier 9 and 10 map as they're what I had laying around. Had a 4 link rolling, Scorching Ray, Controlled Destruction, Elemental Focus, and Faster Casting. Again, it was level 15, and I was using it with RF, but I saw absolutely 0 single target dps problems. AoE clearing was a bitch though, basically relied on RF to clear packs. Damage from Scorching Ray comes in when it reaches it's later stages, and the -% fire resistance debuff kicks in.

Ele prolif would be garbage on Ray, right, because it's a burn but not an ignite?

AoE problem might be cleared up if you specc it right too, as at level 15 with a bad spec, the AoE clearing in Dried Lake wasn't half bad with RF going, cast speed is absolutely a quality of life stat though. It also has this sorta weird auto-target function, and it will name lock if you cast it onto an enemy, so to really control it, don't cast on an enemy.

What's the range of scorching ray? If it was an actual death laser and melted the screen if you turned fast enough it might be okay for clear.
