How is one supposed to approach skills? I'm still getting a feel for the game so I'm not entirely sure on what path I'd like to focus on. The thing is, it's only profitable in null sec and wormholes. And here's the problem: alphas can't use cloaks. It's probably fine in null sec, since you know when someone is in your system, but it would be problematic in wormholes, since if someone appears there, you can't really hide without a cloak. And you also can't cloak while scanning. In theory, you can do it on alpha and it can be very profitable. Not sure about practice, though.

Note that its more isk/hour if you took like a 20 hour sample or something like that. Exploration has a lot of downtime sometimes where you aren't doing anything. Missions are a straight time in, profit out equation.

Learning to be good at the game is fun in and of itself, as long as you feel like you are making progress towards your goals, and accomplishing something.
There certainly are plenty of resources out there, stuff to read, videos to watch, players who are willing to help you out, because they want new blood in the game.

It promises that you can get 40m ISK/hour doing T4 mining missions in High-sec, and 80m+ ISK/hour in Null-sec.

On its own that isn't that much, but the special thing about it, is that it is mostly just AFK mining, in cheap ships that you can afford to lose.
He estimates 2 minutes of active clicking per hour for each account. So that you can multibox 10-20+ at the same time.
You don't even sell the ore/ice/gas but deliver it for LPs that you can't lose, and then convert into desirable items to sell.
Only problem, you have to pay 20+ PLEXs a month to do the multi-boxing.

My plan is this - get Alpha accounts and max them to 5 million skill points. (6 months from now) Then you can convert the skill gain from each one into Skill Injectors to pay off the subscription.

One main account that you play on, one with a Mining foreman booster sitting in system, the others AFK mining.
Theoretically 2 billion ISK/hour in Null-sec

You would run some Faction Warfare on your main account between resetting the miner's missions, so that it doesn't feel like just a second job.
