>No Anime Allowed Edition
God damn do I likeanimelittle girls.
If we're gonna get mad at people who shouldn't be at the decision making level let's get rid of Sou too.
Sou is the worst out of everyone in /merit/. He piggy backs off of /AesCo/'s work, has terrible streams, along with biased shit commentary, and his Rigging After Dark invitational is the most circlejerking event ever conceived. The fact that Boris and Lear let him stream that on the main channel is unforgivable. Not just because of the exclusion of /mlp/. He let fucking Dragonfag on the air and even allowed him to manage during it. If you're going to be pissed at Ved being in there take a look at the rest and you'll find Ved has the least amount of offenses to his name. They should jus disband the entirety of /merit/ already.

So long as people enjoy receiving attention on stream and Sou keeps giving it to them, you'll never find a reasonable consensus on his abilities as a streamer. People will call shit gold as long as it's a top lad "doing his best" to take a dump.
>>160377361
Or there's one guy that posts here a couple days a week to bitch about Sou. I'm not sure why he's got a personal vendetta against him, but the writing style's really obvious.

I don't know why anybody would have a vendetta, but I agree that Sou has weaknesses as a streamer and administrator that aren't made up for by his lad quotient. Don't be thick. The only reason you would prefer a low res choppy stream to a high res smooth stream is because you like the low res streamer better. Sou is a top lad and Ved isn't. /4ccg/ prefers Sou. Do the math.
>>160378536
I prefer the low res stream because I can actually watch it.
The high res streams are constantly buffering
>>160378610
Move to a first world country. Otherwise, manually set the stream to a lower resolution for yourself.
>>160378536
It's the content, too. I'd rather watch a low res stream with Sou and, say, Ken or Dtroit commentating with teams I actually care about than a high res 60fps stream with Ved and Tenko and/or Kregg commentating a game of horsefuckers.

I'm so fucked up.
I started crying a couple days ago for no reason
I have a crazy idea. What if I were to host the test cup on the same days as the friendlies? I could start it 2 hours later than normal cup time, I'll keep it on my channel and you can dickbutt around on yours.host me after?
This will double the amount of PES 17 testing we can do, and both invitationals would be available to do (set an early time for a friendly, have a match in the test cup later). Also if /merit/ really wanted to, they coulduse this test cup to actually test a different set of rules that they want to try out,but that's crazy talk
>>160387394
Naw, that idea sucks. Either you or them should do it a different weekend.
>>160387394
Yes, and ban /mlp/.
>>160388562
Is there any reason they couldn't be later in the month? The 2015 Winter Friendlies were on January 16-18 and 23-25, for example.

Isn't SIllius streaming something those weekends?
>>160387394

>>160388919
Moeshit takes up those last couple of weeks
>>160389032
Sillius was forced to take those weeks because /merit/ wanted to for Ved into being relevant again and put friendlies the original dates for the Moeshit cup

>Ved releases a video 9 months late

He's literally just as important as half a dozen memevitational streamers now, and I don't think any of those people should be in /merit/ just for streaming 2 weekends a year. What makes Ved any different beyond the fact that he's already got his dick up Lear's ass?

>>160391563

>>160391563
>>160392494
Go away Lear
>>160392494
>>160388919
The friendlies are early because we want a gap between them and Winter to help us potentially address any glaring issues with 17 we can spot. Last year Winter was super late and left only a one month gap between it and the start of Spring related stuff so Winter is going to be a bit earlier to have a bit more of a reprieve between the two.
Those two things led to the friendlies being best suited to be as early in January as we could reasonably put them.

It's hard to say that the comfy streaming is "people involved with the cup having fun with each other" if the people streaming literally hadn't even visited the channel other than to stream. The comfy cabal is basically advertising the main stream channel as "whoever can stream whatever whenever", and you get people who literally don't even watch the cup and just want a free audience.

>>160396276
I don't see there being anything I can say to change how people feel about Ved so I'm not really going to bother. Truth is his schedule is very voliatile and that means that there are times that he's just not around. Because of how /merit/ works that's really not that big of a deal to how we operate and doesn't bother me. It's not like this is serious business where we need everybody firing on all cylinders at all times. Also fuck you too buddy.
>>160396726
>he archived the friendlies.
Thank you my friend, and God bless Klaxa, my greatest ally.
>>160396831
I never said "Fuck You", but I'll go ahead and throw it in there as well. Why is Ved in /merit/ when he literally does nothing? He fires on no cylinders, ever. And as soon as people started pushing it, all of a sudden here come these friendlies, and we're supposed to say that justifies him being in a decision making role?
>>160396952
so mad over video game, so so mad
>>160397002

>>160396952
>when he literally does nothing
If this was actually enforced, /rules/ would not exist. As controlled by the horsefuckers /merit/ is, at least some of them do something.
>>160397147
Whether or not you're happy about the results of what /rules/ did, there's data to show that they did shit. Evidence. And I don't think they're really active anymore, and they certainly don't run the cup like /merit/.
>>160396952
Ved was already slated for friendlies, just hadn't announced it until that point. Considering Ved will never go near /4ccg/ I doubt him volunteering to stream was in any way a reaction to posts that would happen about him a few days later.
Right now /merit/ is functioning better than it ever has so the idea that I'd want to stir shit and raise pitchforks at someone because of a perception that they aren't doing enough seems pretty bad for a lot of reasons.
>>160397335
>/merit/ is functioning better than it ever has
that really isn't saying much, and even if it was Ved really isn't qualified to be part of >important cup decision making. by the logic of official cup streamers (which Ved doesn't even do anymore) belonging in /merit/, why not throw Kekkels and PAVAL in too?

>>160415075
Go ahead random /merit/ member, blame all problems on /4ccg/, it's not that we can really bite back. Each cup has gradually less and less viewers (only /mlp/ matches gather significant numbers thanks to brony media, even /a/, /sp/ and /pol/ matches do not attract as many people as they used to), but there is surely no problem with that. People who don't care about /4ccg/ and drama and just visit every 3 months to watch some matches leave once they see that stream is constantly buffering or dropping frames and no one in charge tries to salvage it, but let's pretend that there is no such a thing as organizational mess. Acting high and mighty and giving snarky "we run this shit, complain all you want" responses is the best way to keep the show on tracks, right? All of that for the bright future in which 4CC has no more viewers and no one is whining.

>>160416696
Planet, I believe this is mostly because the main worries with 17 right now are regarding the actual streaming (the tactical changes that need to happen in real time are annoying and probably will be tied to a timeout - something I really dislike, but oh well) rather than any rule change. GGSS seems to not be utterly broken from what everyone's seen of 17, so that's why you've been ignored as far as rule changes go.

a third (permanent) ban and subsequent deletion of the channel would be inevitable, even without /pol/. Twitch admins ironically enough are nazi as fuck and hate everything to do with 4chan. yet somehow /mlp/ - /o/ final amassed almost 3000 viewers, so bronies from the outside had no problems with finding a link and spreading the word. You can sign up on hitbox to get notified when the stream goes online or you can simply check main page of the wiki for next cup dates about a month before estimated start. In fact, general attendances in Winter 2016 were much bigger than in Autumn 2015, so apparently people had no problems with finding new cup location when it mattered. Also, IMHO replays have much better camera work now.

I get it that there is some sort of snowball effect in work here, but:
1) there are days when no other major streams are going on and 4chancup is on the top with less than 1500 viewers, yet does not attract that much interest;
2) old hitbox denizens are already used to us and know we are not streaming CS or some MOBA, just shitty memegrass;
3) total hitbox userbase is not THAT big to attract more than few dozens of curious strangers that usually leave after few minutes tops;
4) /fit/ - /u/ final was nowhere near the viewership levels of /mlp/ final
Insisting that /mlp/ games are watched by homogenous community native to 4chan is straight delusional. External brony sites knew about us for years and never miss and occasion to camp at /mlp/ and wait for some matches. Hell, if I remember correctly, regular /mlp/ users are usually pretty mad about that brony invasion.

/mlp/'s massive popularity is due to the fact that, unlike probably every other interest board, it's impossible to be part of the general community of MLP fans and not at least know about the board.
What other board can say is one of the most prominent avenues of content creation and discussion in their respective 'discipline'? You can't go on a random sports forum and tell people to go watch /sp/ and expect them to do it. All kinds of mini tweaks just to see what looks like would be fun or serious. Just run 8 team, 2 group mini tournaments. Just straight copies of teams with a wide range of tictacs and "skill". Using /a/, /sp/, /u/, /mlp/, /gd/, /s4s/, /mu/ and /y/, from their last recent cup exports. Pes 17 shows promise most of the time. Currently trying out 95/86/77, with 85 GK's. Current height rules and all that. Games mostly come out 3-1 or 2-0, but you get the occasional 0-0 or 4-4. I'm just trying to find the most "fun" style of pes that can be related to IRL football, where managers changes actually seem to make a difference, and teams don't look beat if they are down 2-0 at half time due to PES. I plan to release all this data sometime in he future.weather anyone will bother to take my opinion or data on the matter is another question entirely, I still remember what they said last time I offered my 2 cents and help with the whole rule changes and shit

That was a joke about /y/ always losing, smart guy
I played the entirety of PES17 as it came out and I feel like I'm being generous when I give it a 4/10. It's a convoluted mess that reads like it was written by a 12 year old. The European fanbase refuses to so much as give Konami the time of the day nowadays for good reason. Honestly, I find the extent to which the cup is obsessed with PES to this day to be frightening in a sense. I have no idea how you guys can drone on about it day after day nearly six years after the first cup was streamed; Konami are hacks who have no idea how to actually ,make a game that does anything except continually bait the player with red herrings and empty promises of improved AI. They've been like this since PES12 and will never improve, either on a technical level or on a programming in general. Like I said, almost no European fan cares about Konomi nowadays, and it's more than people just being pissed off about PES16 (people were pissed off about PES15 and PES14 long before then, anyway). It's because they've had enough exposure to him to see through the poor AI and stop falling for this brand of spectacle and sophistry. And yes, the terrible engine is part of the problem too - there are parts of PES that have such embarrassingly poor physics that they're used as memes on reddit

PES16 is one of the most inventive and well-made football games for any platform in years. I don't give a shit about the "feel of the game" or whatever so don't even bother bringing it up, there's no way some FIFA that barely qualifies as having gameplay is better than PES which is actually a very good game with a lot of unique ideas that work well together.
I really can't stand it when people diss PES16 because it's such a good game (I've cleared it in its entirety 4 times, between the original and 1.04 anyway) and it's really clear that the only reason people dislike it is because they have strange expectations after FIFA and think it's cool to hate on it because of the initial bad reaction. Or simply have some ridiculous sperging reason like you.
Hell Touhou Soccer isn't even that good either but at least it's an actual game instead of some shitty FIFA. I will never understand people who care about AI and other weird minor things.

>>160453339
I don't quite understand the meaning of "sodomy" at this point.
I mean, put it in the butt, it's sodomy. Put it in the mouth, it's sodomy. Try anything fun, it's sodomy. Anything other than missionary position for the sole purpose of procreation with clothes on and lights off, it's sodomy.
tl;dr what the fuck CAN I do!?

The fetus was just as stillborn as it could have been. Between the last minute weather issues kekkels ran into and the following stream issues that was atrocious.
I don't believe that the babbys were the same. The issues with internet connection and stream quality was out of Sou & Paval's control, so having a backup and making the call to let him go on was the right decision. Much more prepared for issues with the babbys than with the fetus.
Still, hate that we couldn't get a hype machine for the Round of 16. But Ved no doubt has alot of irl things taking priority.

I hope nobody's saying "The cup should be this person's top priority, it should be more important than real life". That's a little silly.
But it's completely reasonable to say "If a person's personal life is too impactful to let them be in a position of authority, they shouldn't be in that position of authority". If he's really too busy, he should step back and resign. Otherwise he's either lazy, power hungry, or desperate for his e-peen horsefucker merit cred.

I have an affinity towards faces with expressions. Most of the others on /a/ don't so blame me for it. I personally think the old Tottori faces such as Bert, Bebop and Accel have withstood the test of time and its why I wanted memeboy to also have a face that showed expression. I guess in some ways its like a throwback to an older /a/ that wasn't so shit.
We updated a few of them this cup with extra bells and whistles but most of the actual heads remained. I think only Yotsuba and QUALITY got replaced because yotsuba especially really did look pretty shit. MMDs and CM3D2 can give some high quality, shiny heads but there's not a lot like seeing your player facially react to shooting it wide or putting it in the net. We wouldn't get moments like that shot of accel fucking it all up in the /a/ v /out/ game otherwise.

Yeah its the old model on the new PES model software. Its unfortunately pretty much unfixable without doing a LOT of work. The reason the /a/ and /u/ models don't have this issue is because they have literally been untouched since being introduced.
>>160518460
>>160518547

>>160517750
/his/ also has an animated blender
>>160518451
The reason for her hair spazzing out is stranger than that, and I don't fully understand it, so parts of this may be wrong.
A PES hair model is made up of three meshes, hair_0, hair_1 and hair_2. hair_0 and hair_1 correspond to the scalp, and hair_2 to the hair itself. Normally when importing an MMD hair you just join it together with hair_2 and delete the original hair, which is what Blenderanon did.
However, and here comes the interesting part, hair_2 is the only hair mesh without bones i:e, it can't have animations. Blenderanon somehow managed to add bones to the hair and weight paint (weight painting is basically painting over the model in blender to tell it each bone over which vertices it should have influence over) it, which I guess is what causes it to spaz out.
I tried simply removing the weight painting from the hair_2 mesh, but even though it exported correctly on Blender it caused the entire mesh to disappear in PES, since it had bones that weren't painted.
Also as a last weird fact the Marisa model works perfectly on Edit mode, it's only when playing an actual match that it fucks up. Also not related to any of this but pic related was me trying to give mouth animations to Clownpiece's model, I need to get good at this for Winter.

/toy/ was able to bypass the qualifiers despite sitting out a babby cup. That was a little weird to me, I think they should have been put at the back of the line. Qualifiers are not Babbies where you qualify for the next season; in here you qualify for the same season, ie Spring qualifier for Spring and Autumn qualifier for Autumn babby. If you fail to qualify (hello again, /co/) you're just sitting out of the current season but not necessarily the next one

>>160539352
I don't think the actual rules of who goes down are very clear, though. /adv/ had to participate in the Spring qualifier despite finishing about /toy/ in the SAME GROUP in Autumn 2015. If /toy/ was a live team in Spring, they'd have to participate in the Spring Fetus. Why not the Autumn one?
>>160539472
/t/ also got to advance from Autumn because they had the fortune of playing /y/ in a "win and you're in" game
>>160539602
Moral of the story: if you get to play /y/ you've already got a win in the bag (unless you're /i/)
>>160539694
only if you play /y/ in a game they HAVE to win
>>160539602
>/vg/ beats /y/ in the Spring qualifiers
>fails to advance to Summer
>resurgent in Autumn
>About to go 7-0-0 in Winter
>/t/ beats /y/ in Autumn qualifiers
>Fails to advance to Winter
>????
See the pattern? Don't get discouraged /t/ army, we're about to run 2017.
>>160539585
>/adv/ had to participate in the Spring qualifier despite finishing about /toy/ in the SAME GROUP in Autumn 2015.
Thats because Autumn 2015 was a megababy and spring fetus had 4 groups
>I don't think the actual rules of who goes down are very clear, though.
Like every rule /merit/ makes, can't break them if they are not clear and leave room for bullshit
>>160539585
/toy/ was a liv team in the Spring fetus.
>>160540178
Literally disregard everything I've said in this conversation. Somehow I completely forgot that they were in the Spring qualifier and that the Autumn qualifier would go based on final position in Spring. I was convinced /toy/ sat a cup out.

When are we finally getting rid of horsefuckers?
>>160549685
We'll never get rid of them. Eventually the show will fade into memory and horsefuckers will become mere background noise as something new and even more cancerous comes along.
>>160550125
That's happened already though. You may have a distorted view because of how prevalent they are on the cup but the rest of the Internet has forgotten about them in favor of Undertale and SU
Please shitpost. FIFA rankings update later this month as well, will repost at that time.

Sonico was /h/'s oldest not pin up thread. Think it lasted for two years due to a few autists demand for it to live. Though that thread finally just died. I guess she will be off the team for /h/ soon.

Knock yourself out.
It is most likely going to be running as I said, same days as the friendlies, I'm starting 2 hours later than normal cup time. 16 teamerinos as before, 4 groups of 4, group stages on Sat, Sun, and next Sat. 8 team knockout on Sun.

We're doing a 12 team tournament in the style of the NFL playoffs
The 12 teams playing are:
AFC:

2./f/
3./v/
4./asp/
5./sp/
6./a/
NFC:
1./mlp/
2./fit/

Boris didn't use autumn /jp/
http://implyingrigged.info/wiki/Pro_Evolution_Soccer_2016#2016_4chan_Autumn_Babby_Cup
For PES17 we'll have a nice system set up that will involve easily combining 4CC, VGL and any invitational stuff, so look forward to that
>>160602131
Could we please have all invitational team spots in one big league, or in few leagues but with continued numeration? In case of invitationals like Boolsheet that combined many teams at once, it was rather confusing to remember whether team is "PES 13", "Extra 17", "Backup 9" or "Invitational 14"
If possible, VGL could use some more spots too, like 60 or so, to have room for some legacy teams that keep popping up here and there.
>>160597183
Sad!
>>160602879
I'm not sure the capabilities/limits of how big a league can be made, but I'll pass it on
VGL should be 50, that seems fine for the 40 and some extras
Invitationals should be as big as we can get itor maybe we should have more traditional invitationals with actual 4CC teams :^]
>>160606489
Considering that 4CC league has 60 teams, I guess something like "Invitational 1 - 60" and Invitational 61-120" should be possible?
>>160606763
I'd imagine so, but maybe that was the reason Tony would split them up into different leagues, since there's not really a logical reason for him to do this otherwise, idk
Oh boy it's another Tony is a cuck, we know so much better than him episode. Waiting for Smugleaf to fuck this up too.
