So I picked hard mode classic death, if any of the 4 'main' characters I start with die as in Fredrick, Chrom, my character and the healing girl whos name escapes me, are they permanently gone?
I can't Imagine the story would make much sense since they are showing up in FMVS, or are they just unable to be selected for battle anymore and just show up in cutscenes?

Or is it like a Valkyria Chronicles situation, where a few people just cant permanently die because of Story reasons and are ready to go again next battle?

Make sure to only use Frederick in a pinch, he's a prepromoted unit, so he's stronger, but his stats are not on par with other characters by the time their level 20, ideally the level you wanna promote. His prepromote status also makes him get much less exp, taking exp from your other units that need it. He falls off heavily later on too.

Conquest had okay gameplay. It was kind of a mixed bag desu. The early game was good and I really like chapter 10, but then you have things like the Ninja Rape Cave, Fuga's Wild Ride, the Stairs chapter, etc, etc. Some of them are so annoying to play that some would rather just warp skip (like with the final chapter) or cheese the maps (fox rape) than play through it themselves, which is why I think Conquest is kind of overrated in terms of gameplay.

2. She should always get D axes in either BR7 or Rev10.
3. She's really good in Rev10 because an HP and Def tonic let her usually take 2 hits unpaired by most enemies on the map and seal resistance lets Hayato ORKO everything on the map un-paired if he has a speed tonic
4. Make good use of her personal skill and effective weapons
5. Always give her the first angelic robe
6. Pair her with the Avatar and give him fighter as his sub class
7. Pair her with Subaki in birthright or Keaton in Rev otherwise. Birthright enemies are so weak her ability, natural growth rate, and an energy drop will let her kill everything she'd ever need to without a str pair up. Keaton gives her Berserker and more str, speed, and def

She needed buffs, but she's still a pretty viable unit. Easily A tier in birthright at least.

A lot of the units you just mentioned? She has shove and amazing pair-up bonuses, great availability, stats that are perfectly competent enough to let her kill enemies, and there are a few chapters where her being able to use the hammer can contribute to shaving turns (notably chapter 13).

Subaki and Hana both have worse combat than her, and Kagero is within her range as well given their large durability differences, availability, and the bolt axe. The only reason Subaki would even be considered better is because of Rescue, but shove is also often needed for shaving turns as well.

Yeah she's bad in physical power compared to Donnell. Cleric does focus on magic which she excel at, the sage boosts her up even more. If in cleric she has a good amount of strength then warcleric is perfect as her speed and skill helps her, also she heals, and she can pick up Luna from Great Knight so when she's in war cleric she does a sonic the hedgehog spin which is cute.
