Just updated my 3ds from using an emunand hack to a9lh using the guide. It seemed to only let me restore from either emunand or sysnand and not a merge of the two, so I went for sysnand since I had more games/saves on it.
But was there a way to merge the emunand stuff that I just missed? Alternatively is there an easy way to find/transfer my emunand game saves through one of my backups?

So I'm trying to move my emuNAND to a new SD card (8GB to 16GB) and need some help.

I'm currently on Mac OS X (I know...) without any access to Microsoft/Linux/Bootcamp, etc.

I found this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/ which is pretty solid but doesn't really apply for Mac. As I said, I can't do a Bootcamp/virtual machine right now and Wine doesn't run the .exe files correctly. I found another thread on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/3o5d3m/what_is_the_easiest_way_to_move_my_sysnand_and/ where some gent perfectly explains how to create a perfect image of the old SD card (which Disk Utility doesn't do perfectly). I've put my new 16GB SD into my 3DS and it runs perfectly btw, so I know the image worked.

However, my problem lies with partitioning. The new Disk Utility for El Capitan+ is awful and I've tried multiple times to get an older version of it (Yosemite and below) but again, it won't work. My SD card uses FAT and Mac seems to not like that and won't let me partition the size of my new SD. The end of that Reddit thread ends with my exact problem, but the guy offered a suggestion that just doesn't work.

So, I come to you... Is there ANY way I can partition this fucking SD card for more space... or am I doomed and just need to go to an internet cafe/library to use Windows for that EaseUS program linked in the gbatemp thread?

Im thinking about writing an emulator for the 3ds, however its an x86 architechture and it would be emulating a cpu with a 443 MHz cycle (a celeron). Obviously its only going to run on the n3ds, but do you think its even possible? Is there a better palce to ask this?

Trying to update Animal Crossing NL, and it's being shit and not working for some reason. Backed up the save data with the 3DS's save data backup thing, and deleted the game, redownloaded the game, update now works fine.

Except now the save data is refusing to be backed up for some reason.

This wasn't my save file. It's my girlfriend's and she's ready to fucking kill me and she'd be completely justified. She's spent years playing.

What do I do, how do I troubleshoot, etc. It's a EU N3DS XL, a9lh and luma already there.

Basically, yesterday I installed a9lh and Luma onto a 4GB SD card, and today I decided to move it over to a 32 GB SD card.
I copy pasted the files over, but the apps don't appear on my home screen. I can access homebrew, but the installers don't work.

When you go to delete a game from the 3ds system menu, the system asks if you want to back up the save file first before deleting it. I was using that.

What, jesus christ no, man. I wanted to delete the game and reinstall it fresh to see if the update would work that way. I backed up the save file with the manager as I was deleting the game. I've reinstalled the game now, updated it, it now works. Now I'm trying to restore the save file from the backup made earlier. It's not working for some reason.

It was downloaded via CIAngel though. I wonder if that's fucking it up somehow. But even if that's the case, there should be another way to restore the save file manually.

Thank you. I did fix the problem! It was because I was downloading the wrong region!

Except now that I've got the correct region, I'm back to square one. The AC:NL Update isn't installing correctly. When it tries updating through various ways, it shows the updating progress bar for a few seconds and fills it quickly, says it's done, and then it goes "Install new update" again. Loading the game after one of these "updates" shows the original screen and reveals it has not actually updated and the game lied to me.

I'm doing it completely from scratch this time. I've backed up the save through JKSM, deleted every scrap of data related to AC, and am redownloading it again.

On the Main Menu of it says wup Installer, it says "Press A to install to Wii U storage" and "Press X to install to USB" Press X and make sure you have a USB or external already formatted to be usable on the Wii U. It would then install to the USB and you can transfer it to the Wii U system later. I never installed a game straight to the Wii U system, but I heard that it might not work.
