There's no real definition of "defense" based on what the characters in that category do other than area control, but area control doesn't really mean much in this game when every character you'd want to keep out can just dash past you unless you have your entire team denying it. By that logic Zen belongs in Offense
They said I don't know how many times that categories are INCREDIBLY loose guidelines. At one point they didn't even want to have categories, but knew the players would be too dumb to make a decision on their own.
The only thing about Sombra that could be considered Support is her ability to hack health packs, which coincidentally is her strongest point.
The point of her character is to harass, get picks, and by doing so get her ult to bust the enemy team's defense. Unfortunately Blizzard shipped her out being too weak to be worth picking not just over other offense, but to almost any other hero.
Right now it's dumb to say she should be in a different category when the fact of the matter is that she's just underpowered in general.

goldies and plats own me in 1v1. i have 100+ hours on genji and got defeated by some fucker with 7 hours on genji, because he hit me with more shurikens.

i got defeated 5 - 0 by a mercy main. he has minutes on the damage dealer heroes and still he outaims me.

i lose nearly all duels as zarya because i cant keep my mouse on my target consistently. i lose ALL duels as dva, enemies force me into eject faster than i do, ALL THE TIME. i dont understand why, it doesnt matter whether i start shooting them as soon as they appear, or if i jump around and damage them with shift as well.

i even get defeated by faggots who hook as roadhog first.

HOW can i fucking improve my aiming and tracking? my sens is already comfortably low. my fps is at 30 because of shit hardware, is that the reason??? in genji duels (long before this piece of shit game mode) i always had huge problems with losing my opponent from sight and having no idea where they are while they toss more shurikens at me

What am I supposed to do if my team isn't in voice chat? I was playing on volskaya and me and the two other people in the chat went rein lucio and ana, and the poeple not in chat went sombra, genji, and diva, and wouldn't switch when they went three tanks. Like how am I supposed to win that game?

Blizzard should have a different comp queue for people who use voice chat and are interested in winning rather than people who just pick whatever hero they want and just deal with it. I think my winrate when 6 people are active in voice chat is like 80%, versus like 40% when people are silent.

I think 1v1 would be better if it was more like the melee mode in star control (or those team fight modes common in fightan games) where you first select a roster of say six heroes and then could pick the next hero from the roster after the previous hero dies. no switching until the hero dies. once your roster runs out you lose.

The PharMercy in this patch is strong.
I love D.Va and I like Pharrah and both are quite a bit better now, best Patch ever.
Sombra needs some Buff desu, besides her really good Ult (combine it with a Gravity Bomb to fuck some shit up) she is just a worse Tracer most of the time.
