No. You don't understand. The plants are destroyed by monster attacks. Red orbs spawn monsters that can destroy plants.
If everyone slaps their plants in one of the few areas on a map where nothing spawns, people are just going to see a bunch of plants and drop a red orb on them.

This event is completely shit. The prizes aren't even worth the time it takes to go to a map and plant the seed (nor are they worth the silver cost it takes to warp there).

Can confirm Sacrament refusing to remain on characters between zone transitions. Unsure about the status of Aspersion and Blessing, as those two buffs were not mysteriously purged following the previous maintenance cycle.
