i think i'm at what i think is the last story dungeon and unless something ridiculous happens in the last bit i don't think premiere is gonna stack up. they've already recycled some themes from philia's plot:

>antagonistic clone
>a psychotic manipulator who wants to destroy the world
but just a lot less meaningful since premiere's being socialized by the entire group instead of raised up individually, and the destruction of ainground means a little less than aincrad/hollow area because none of your friends might die, Genesis is infinitely less threatening than PoH. Kirito could also, at any time, bail Premiere and Kizmel out of the game and take them to Alfheim or whatever so there goes the tension unless you're really attached to the shop NPCs or something

they nailed the gameplay this time around, so unless SAOxAW sells so retardedly well it derails the focus of the game series, i'm looking forward to seeing what an even more refined infinity moment can do with a story based in Alicization or something

You should think about it like a picture taken with camera. That's how that particular pic looks. But for example pic related no one looks at the camera because this is just an illustration what is happening at the moment.

Characters are usually looking straight at you if you are controling someone and you are looking at the scene from their eyes or if it's a scene like that where they're posing for something like camera.

This is done by tons of different artists for tons of different games/anime/manga, many of which you know there's nobody taking a picture (because it that take place in settings where cameras don't exist or in situation where the characters were it makes no sense for the characters to act that way while having their picture taken or it's a cutscene and you actually know nobody's taking their picture).
For exemple, look at the bath art for Meruru, half the characters are looking toward the viewer, but in the cutscene there's nothing there, so they're bathing and talking while looking off in the distance instead of at each other like normal.

One thing could be that artists just simply think it's cuter when they look straight to the supposed viewer/camera, even if there's no one there. Could totally work without it, but I think it works fine this way too. Can't really explain why it's necessary at all, it really isn't but it doesn't do much harm.

But I usually just look pictures, think they're cute and not think the story behind them too much. But thinking that stuff could be sometimes fun. The logic does usually break when you cut these things in pieces when the most important factor when making these pictures is cuteness rather than story being cohesive.

Yeah should have used some other word than cute. Tthe artist probably thinks it just simply works better that way, I don't think they have any ulterior motives behind that. And it's easier to just have the model just look straight at the viewer and pose rather than come with some activity that supports their character in some other fashion. I think after playing Hollow Fragment and getting most sword skills pretty high up but focusing on 2h swords and then playing Lost Song and using 2h swords almost exclusively, I'll finally not use them in Hollow Realization because the game is much more speed focused...

I was thinking of using daggers, but they don't seem to have a good combo, so maybe I'll use spear or dual swords when I get those.

regular square combos have a timing deal. activating a sword skill when a yellow diamond pops up gives a just frame damage bonus, simlarly the meter that fills up at the end of a combo has a yellow space in it; hit that space and the free sword skill you set at the end of the string gets a bonus too.

ssc, the oss equivalent in this game, happens when you activate another sword skill when a blue diamond pops up during your current one

sub pallet is dedicated to party commands, but if you're going solo (or just want to switch out the praise command since it's mapped to a trigger anyway) you can replace it with whatever you want. otherwise skills can be mapped to eight different directional commands on square and circle, and you trigger them like you would in a Tales game
