I haven't been grinding levels or skill points, but I have been doing way too much of the dating stuff

I've just been upgrading the base armor, so fashion to an extent. Another bonus is that they're light, so you still run fast. They're at +8 right now, and the coat gives +15% hp which is pretty nice. The legs give +15% movement speed bonus though, which is great for zipping around the fields and offsets the weight penalty of dual blades even without a movement buff

I would say the gameplay/vn ratio is more less pretty balanced, but they just keep rehashing the same shit. instead of picking a servant and sticking with it for the whole game like in /extra and /ccc, you have to complete the short saber route to unlock the short caster route etc and the caster route has the same maps as the saber route in a different order.

Started the game two days ago and I've been wearing some low tier junk that works decently since yesterday for fashion simply because it's glitched as fuck and randomly changes colors every so often for no real reason. Sometimes it even gets really fucked up and changes every time I use a SS.

Man, I really want to get Toukiden Kiwami. I watched a couple of mission and the gamelooks great. Really nice looking graphics (much better than the second one) and a lot of cool details in the arenas. I dunno if I should wait for the second one, it seems like the open world doesn't add much at all and there's been a graphical downgrade. Still I think I'll wait for the second one so the multiplayer will be more alive. I really regret not getting into Toukiden when there was more people online.

There are still quite a few people around though. And you can get Kiwami for pretty cheap nowadays anon. And regardless of online factor, the game is really polished and fun.
I bought it simply because I found it for cheap and it quickly grew into one of my favorite Vita games.

Auto attack is gone, it's direct control like Lost Song but less shitty. Number of hits does matter, strong single hit moves like Vorpal Strike have higher modifiers than combo moves. Long combo moves make up the difference by just hitting a ton more

sonic leap is one hit, 180% total modifier. eclipse is 27 hits, 100% total modifier, plus a +15% damage multiplier buff. there's a battle log if you really want to test that stuff

Oh, by the way, does armor still have stuff like the straight up % of damage ignored like in Hollow Fragment? Like eventually you could straight up ignore half of the damage and then the other half would go against your defense - this is probably one of my favorite stat-based mechanics.

It also made it so you could get some armor that had little to no defense but actually gave you a percentage of damage ignored, so yeah that was cool.

Demon Gaze has some customization. You get artifacts that you can equip to teach classes skills that they can't normally use. And outside of the obligatory Healer in your party I don't think there's a must have party set up. Everything works.
