According to the rankings, there's apparently 100s of thousands of accounts for SFV. A fair amount of these are probably each individual having a few accounts, but it can't be that common, and that seems like a fuckton of people either way.

What if Capcom creates dummy accounts playing by advanced AI, like the RZR_INFILTRATION account, and uses those to inflate the numbers of players? And it's like a Turing test, because you can't see the other human; if it plays well enough that it seems human, nobody will know that it isn't.

Some anons tried to get people to talk about other games, but people treated it mainly as an XIV general. Even when xiv stuff got posted like stuff that people found while researching not many people talked about it. I guess there weren't enough people. If I wanted that I would just play GG. Long combos allow for the enders and setups after finishing the combo to vary more heavily, and the moves would need a massive rehaul to have the same level of corner carry on some characters if the combo length was to be shortened.

ODC is already an alternative for that. Putting it on both is unnecessary. RC is often used for making stuff safe on block, and for some characters like Mu, their mixup is heavily reliant on RC being immediate.

Unless you're playing on an underwater connection or playing some extremely execution-heavy character like Naoto or such, then no not really. It's just something you practice and get down. Also watering down the game because of people playing on shitty connections is never going to happen, because the primary audience for the game is japanese, who have a much smaller issue with that.

I don't remember which one I played first: Mortal Kombat for SNES or Tekken 3 for PS1.

I liked Mortal Kombat, but never been too crazy about it. I loved Tekken 3 though.

I had no experience with fighting games whatsoever and I already felt that MK was quite stiffy with its movements, also I wasn't really a fan of how the characters looked.

Tekken 3 is a mix of nostalgia and love for the characters. Loved the graphics, the gameplay and the music as well.

I grew up a poorfag and the first thing I owned that was powerful enough to support a fighting game of sorts was a gba. First was Tekken advance, I played the fuck out of that despite it been kinda shit. I liked the team mode (3v3 until all of a player's character's were KOd). Then I got the GBA KoF, it was the first one, neoblood (again loved it because 3v3. Shortly after got a ps2 and played the Budokai games (didn't really like Tenkaichi as much) and then got into SF and KoF which is my favorite (I guess it comes from me liking the 3v3 mode in Tekken advance), then the CvS games then into the real tekken games, even bought my friend's ps1 with Tekken 3 and bought tekken 2. Ever since then I've played mostly exclusively fighting games and ports of arcade games since I would go to arcades before I even had any sort of home console. I pretty much played almost any fighting game I could get my hands on that was on ps2.

Now that I remember even before Tekken advance I think I played X-MEN: CotA. I have vague memories being even younger and playing in an arcade machine at a mexican store with a kid my age (around 6 or 7). I was REKTing him (with wolverine I believe), I didn't even know what I was doing. Some kids who I think were teenagers were watching too IIRC hey had a camcorder. All was good until he picked fucking Iceman and he did nothing, but span his bigass ice ball move and I got REKT myself. I remember the older kids saying "Ooh, how the mighty have fallen". Then my mom called me over when she was done shopping because we had to go home.
To this day I remain total shit at fighting games because all of my friends didn't like them and never had anyone to play with.

Your timing is off. You can always hit the CA whether only first, second or both Tenkos are just. You only have to adjust your timing slightly.

If your comfortable in landing Just Tenkos, I'd suggest doing the second one right before your opponent hits the ground and immediately following up with the CA.

Akuma's hurtbox during all his Forward, Backward Jumps and Demon Flips moves have been made larger. This adjustment will make it easier to hit an airborne Akuma with a larger amount of moves.
The Recovery Frames for Akuma landing after performing a jump has been increased. This adjustment will make it more easier to punish Akuma when he lands to the ground after being in an airborne state.
Demon Flip 1, Demon Flip 3, Demon Flip 4, Demon Flip 1+3 / 2+4 have the same adjustments made as above. (Recovery frames increased after landing.)

ingame hitboxes is really cheating.

if a videogame is going to break down the specific hitboxes, it might as well tell people the #1 most advantageous characters and flowcharts in the game so they have the easiest time winning with minimum effort. (like those tool assisted speed runs.)

back then, people didn't look up or map out hitboxes for each move, players organically learn the hit region, reach and vulnerability of their attacks against other attacks, etc. from simply playing normally.

hitboxes really give people who study hitboxes and train with hitboxes an unfair advantage against people that don't look at hitboxes.

It really breaks down the mechanics too much to like computer levels of knowledge (one of the reasons why computer opponents can be so cheap because they understand the gameplay, right down to the skeletal specifics, more than the player. )

Holy crap. Just played some Accent Core for the first time. I started GG with Xrd and I saw the debate about the game feeling slower but then they showed how combos lasted the same amount of frames and whatnot.

But I have to say - that game is something else compared to Xrd.

Slashbacks looked really neat though. Can't say I managed to use them successfully but some other guys managed to do some impressive stuff with it like catching people right after their RCs.
I guess there were more failures than flashy successes - but it think was a cool feature to have even if it's not reliable at high-level play.
