one was a warlock deck that runs reno, n'zoth, yogg, and has a win condition of 20 or 28 damage leeroy/PO/faceless manip combo with emperor, I don't know how it worked so well it just did

Thanks to the bladeflurry nerf there is minimal reason to use weapon buffs ever again.

Aside from all the broken shit, it felt like there was bigger deck variety since you could fill any gaps with some broken neutral cards. This wasn't always good since everyone hates Mad Scientist, Creeper, Shredder, and dr. Boom to this day, but the playable archetypes didn't seem so rigid and forced as after Old Gods.

While the games were shorter because you were always at -14 health, all the classes were playable instead of 6-7.

This is an awful deck.

If you're going to play hand buffs then you need to be running a deck that plays off-curve for the first few turns. Which means you need 2 Doomsayers to drop on turn 2 and Equality Pyromancer combo to clear their board advantage in the mid game as well as some decent card draw to make sure your hand buffs hit a decent number of minions.

You can't play an on-curve deck with Paladin's hand buffs, it just doesn't work because you will get overwhelmed in the early game and your hand buffs won't hit enough minions if you only have a 4 or less card hand (which you will if you're playing on curve with zero card draw).
