For whatever reason I actually find SFIV combos way easier to remember than SFV and its crush counter v-trigger memes.

Like in SFIV all you need to know was what linked off of jab, what linked off of strong, what you could FADC and the odd special that could be linked off of. V you get these disjointed multiple pause punish combos with like 5 different normals in no particular pattern and 3 special moves.

Thanks anon. I play Alex, and after 8 months I JUST realized that I was playing him wrong. I kept trying to play like Birdie and react to my opponents fucking up while keeping them out, but Alex doesn't have Birdie's great hitboxes.

I've been stuck in bronze since switching to Alex and I finally just got to silver last night. I've been AAing a lot better with jab and I've been working on my tick throws. A lot of why Mika trashes me is because I always forget that a parried clap can still lead into grab, which has fucked me over more than a few times.

I've also got no idea how to fight Laura aside from just keeping her out, though that's a different story.

I'm new to the game and I had the issue of totally forgetting how to play the previous character and going from charged to non charged and still charging all my movements, with time I just stopped doing it. I'm constantly in training mode and trying out the entire cast though. If you're new to fighting games maybe it'll get better with time and also try playing a larger cast of characters and more frequently not taking large breaks between.
