All normal missions on Sedna, Uranus and the new tileset have a chance to spawn a syphon which is harvesting Kura clouds. You can switch to potato and jump into the clouds to collect them before the syphon can.

I recommend a capture one.

So before you end the mission you get a marker and a Kuba harvest machine spawns.

It spawns fatties alongside dwarf grineer thingies.
Kill them and the machine will begin to extrac kuba essence from them.
You have to get in to Void mode and chargue at the "Red-black smoke" that will slowly travel to the extractor.

Do that 4 times and you get 600 kuba in a run.

What the fuck do the initial three choices do?

Personally I thought the cutscenes taken as individual things were cool and nice, like I'll admit potato transferencing out of the frame, spouting some cheesy one-liner and ripping shit up was neat and made you feel heroic?, if that's the right word. Or the very first cutscene with teshin as well as the ending one, seeing your frame and your operator interact with him was nice and tater being a bratty kid was kind of funny.

But the story overall felt disjointed. We were jumping form one plot thread to another (queens, your past, teshin involvement, ordi, then suddenly lotus for no reason again) and there were no breathers to properly explain what is even going on, you were jumping between the ship, ordis, your mind (??? I think?), then you have an argument with lotus that doesn't really say anything then you fuck off again back to teshin...

I think the fault lies with all the rewrites they did. It just felt to me like they wanted to cram in all the "cool" ideas they got in the months of (not) developing this and never checked if the final product flows well or has a good progression. Because of course to people who worked on it for months everything made perfect sense but to me it seemed all over the place.

The "moral choices" suffered the same problem, not being properly explained and this is something DE always struggled with. I drank the fucking thing and if I knew "control" meant I'd just hand it over to teshin for safekeeping I'd probably give it to him. I thought control would be me trying to establish dominance over teshin by using it or something like that and I didn't really want to do that. At the same time I didn't want to just destroy it so it'd go to waste.

And of course bugs galore but I'd be lyign if I didn't say I expected that.

The gameplay also could have used a bit more handholding, actually, I mean in the end I made it through but the part with burrowing beasts and the showdown with queens, while they did have some visual clues I think they could have been even more obvious with those (like let's say instead of just guiding you from light to light in that burrower part they could have scattered those memory ghosts so you'd know where to go next).

Ultimately, war within was supposed to outdo second dream and I feel like it didn't accomplish that. On a technical level it probably did with all the cutscenes but not in terms of emotional impact. Second dream introduced operators, something completely new, that meaningfully changed the relation between the player and his frame in the player's mind (be it to a positive or a negative reception). And it was all the more stronger for the fact that this massive change happened years into the game's run.

War within didn't have anything with that kind of impact. The semi-randomized mods are a nice callback to pre-U7 mod system but few people remember that and in the grand scheme of things it's just a bunch of new mods to grind out (or more likely ignore because their power really isn't particularly necessary).

The morality compass could have been that impactful thing but it just kind of fizzles out, doesn't feel like it really does anything meaningful. You get a badge on your profile, promise that maybe in the future it will mean something and after ten hours I barely remember what the choice were. If they showed that I did something meaningful, that the compass now has an effect on me and there is something that makes my account unique to accounts of people that made different choice, then they probably could have at least touched somewhere in the ballpark of second dream's impact.

The original script included a tease for umbra. It was probably a mistake to cut that because that also could have had some impact, if only as another tease while you're diving in the memories.

The update doesn't feel great, it doesn't even feel that strongly disappointing, it just kinda feels like nothing and that's the thing that I feared the most, that I'd do the quest and then everything would go back to the status quo and I'd be back to being bored out of my mind, grinding stupid meaningless bullshit.
