take Marksman and they feel incredible

Also, new sounds for pulveriser, DBS, Caulk, and subtle sound changes for RPG and Railgun (i think)

They fixed gorefast blades so they dont have a magical magnetic barrier

Frost grenades are powerful as fuck. Massive radius and freezes everything for like 6 seconds

fixed massacre 1shots all trash in a single sideways light attack. Worth considering before scrakes spawn.

Survivalist is as shit as expected. He'll probably be okay in about 5 months.

move nailgun and evis over to survivalist, give zerk more melee weapons.
Survivalist should have DIY-esque weapons that provide wide forms of utility. like the Nailgun being able to pop heads at range or shotgun at close, evis being able to fire a ranged attack and being able to melee with it. move the HX grenade pistol to him and give it the original alt-fire. Dunno what to give to demo though, maybe claymores or some sort of 5 shot micro-explosive pistol

Give him weapons that benefit from all of his varied perk bonuses. Evis gains melee damage on the melee but gains headshot bonus on the disc. His entire point shouldn't be that he can use every other perks weapons, but rather that his perk weapons cover multiple roles that are usually filled by a specific perk and manages to do it well enough that it's not garbage, but not good enough that it overshadows the other perks.
For example the nailgun would never be a better shotgun than what support has, however if he needs to pick off a couple of heads he can just switch fire-modes and dunk a few things quickly and easily then immediately go back to shotgun mode if something is close. something support can't do with his "low" amount of ammunition (nailgun with single shot headshots is waaay more ammo efficient on trash than the pump action is, less efficient against the big guys though)

Survivalist can be good if he's treated as an actual perk whose purpose is that he can immediately react to any situation with the weapons on hand, not that he can be spec'd to somewhat fill a role that another perk already does way better.

Bought the game during the latest steam sale from g2a. I never had to put up with any of the bullshit as the game was being made, but just reading and hearing about the whole process pissed me off something fierce.

A little bit, yeah, but absolutely nothing compared to the peashooter hell they used to be relegated to before some well-deserved buffs.

There was a good argument for Support being the worst perk in the game for a while, particularly when the zed resistance update first came out and you were hard-pressed to kill a single trash zed with a point blank SG shell.

Shotguns feel like they're in a good place now, for me. They're not as powerful as KF1, but they do the job and the penetration and DBS mobility give you a couple niches to work with.

How to fix Survivalist
Base passive:
AVAILABLE FROM LEVEL 0
+10% global damage
+10% damage resistance
+10% move speed
+10% melee swing speed
+10% reload speed
+10% healing potency
+10% faster syringe cooldown
Being able to move, attack, reload and switch weapon in real time during zed time.
Spawn with dual 9mm

Scaling passive:
+2% switch speed per level (max 50%)
+3% Zed Time Reload (max 75%)
+1 bonus HP per level (max 25)
+1 armor per level (max 25)
+1 HP regen per 5 level (max 5)


Boom all the small global bonus (damage, reload, move speed, and good zed time ability from LEVEL 0 but they do not scale. The only thing scales is switch speed, zed time reload, HP and armor. So leveling Survivalist feel less retarded.

Level 1:
Professional: 15% faster reload + 100% incap bonus (knockdown/stun/stumble) + 200% melee bash damage
OR
Destroyer: 10% bonus damage on all weapon. 110% bonus damage on knife and 9mm.

Level 10
Enrage: gain more move speed, damage, melee swing speed and resistance when taking damage
Explosion Maniac: 20% explosive resistance, 5% more explosive damage, carry 1 more grenade and 30% to cause explosion after killing a zed

Level 15:
Heavy Weight Training: Carry 3 more weight and 2 more grenades. 10% global damage resistance and cannot be knocked by Zed.
Chemical Warfare: 20% chance to release a cloud at a zed corpse that heal teammates and damage zed after killing a zed

Level 20:
Enforcer: Consecutive shots will slow zeds by 20% and have 20% chance to apply EMP to them
Time Manipulator: 5% chance to trigger zed time while shooting. During zed time you have 30% bonus damage.

Level 25:
3x attack speed
or
15% total HP healed.

med AR + med pistol + railgun is kind of fun if your team is alright.

Pretty much everything else is awful, survivalist does about 75% as much damage as real perks and can't speedkill nearly as quickly. Battle medic survivalist is the only real use I've found for it.

Also giving it a ninja aesthetics to emphasize the glass canon style of play. It could take back the katana and then you could have throwing stars or kunai as throwing weapons or hell even as the classes grenade.

When I first read about the Survivalist, I envisioned him as a jack of all trades, master of none, which means the kind of guy that is basically a wild card that can help out a class in any role that the team may be lacking in, while being able to instantly switch and go help another totally different class as the situation demands it.

However there's just one problem with this, that is the carry weight. I can't be a jack of all trades if the carry weight limits me to a single T4 weapon or if I have to force myself into carrying a bunch of T2 weapons which will barely be of any help in higher difficulties excluding certain cases.

So now not only does the Survivalist do low damage, he has to, ironically, specialize himself in a single role if he wants to be effective at it at all instead of being dead weight, and that just feels like its not what the class can be.

So here's the thing, why not, as the perk levels up, give it more carry weight, faster weapon switch, and most importantly one hell of a discount on all weapons(that only he can use and pick up so that the teams don't just pile dosh on him to buy everybody their weapons). Imagine a perk that can carry a Medic Assault Rifle for healing, an RPG for Flesh Pounds, an AA12 for Scrakes/panic, and a SCAR for trash clearing, all while being able to do switch between them extremely fast as the situation calls for it.

Since the survivalist doesn't have the specialized perks that make those weapons truly shine, he has to compensate by being able to help at anything at any time or else he's just going to be dead weight.

I've played in bits and pieces since alpha, but fuck I still don't understand at all the underlying meta. I don't understand what classes are good at what, or what most of the guns are built for. I don't know any of the little tricks like I did in KF1, such as the hunting shotgun crown, or what the useless perks are

Pick your battles very carefully. Block and Parry. Go in hard when the getting's good and back off quick when things get dicey. Don't be afraid to take damage, but don't get yourself in a heap of shit.

Have a really good feel for how much attention your medic is paying you, it makes a really big difference in what you can survive and what you can't. If you have the medic's full support, leverage that into aggression, if you don't, take it easy on the risks.

To a lesser extent, know who on your team will stick around and help you out, and who starts retreating as soon as a scrake starts swinging. There's relatively little harm in going full defense and seeing if anyone has got your back before you commit to attacking and enraging something.

If you're blocking and parrying FP hits and it's still killing you, you're either not retreating enough and letting it combo you so much that your medic doesn't have time to heal you (or you have a REALLY shit medic), or the rest of your team is chain-enraging it when you clearly need some time to back off and heal.

What KF2 does better:

One of my favorite things from KF1 was its unique atmosphere and amusing dialogue that I never grew tired of despite the fact there was only really 2 voices to choose from (more characters added later have more voices but you know what I mean).
If KF2 could have only ported over the feel from KF1 it would without a doubt be the better game. But until KF2 gets more maps and weapons as post-release content, KF1 is a better game overall.

Though, good luck finding any players for KF1. The game is basically dead other than a handful of servers run by Russians.

If you are talking about difficulty Suicidal is hardly different from Hard. Any M1 spam from a high level perk with a moderately heavy or priceful weapon overwhelms the ZEDs. AA12, Crossbow, L.A.W, SCAR you can spam them at a choke point and be done with it.

Hell on Earth is the difficulty where everything cranks up. ZEDs are faster, hits harder, more vital, have random speed modifiers on top. Spawn delays get shorter and longer more often, so killing with control and discreet use of nukes are a must when kiting. On top of all these, they cover and protect each other when they attack as a large group to organize.
Some of the weapons that work in Suicidal somewhat rendered useless in meta because of their reload times, due to fast moving and fast spawning specimen.
If you have a capable team of experts in HoE, everything will feel like a light breeze tho'.

tl;dr: It will take like months to see those hardmode scrubs to climb up to KF1 HoE. So you'll have plenty of time as long as you have time to kill.

That's the least of it for me. The weapons are as good as limp noodle when it comes time to do the deed. A weaker flamethrower and a microwave gun? Fuck the caulk and burn, give me the damn mac 10 so at least I have some range to my attacks. I haven't used the microwave gun since I got the ground fire skill, even on boss waves I just shoot at their feet so it creates trails for them to walk through. Maybe make the aoe of the molotovs a big bigger as well. If they're going to nerf it to near uselessness then why not just get rid of the perk?

Utility. It's not the best perk, duh, but it's nice to have one.
Being able to see stalkers is great because they're so fucking annoying.
Extending zed time feels good both for the player and for the team (assuming they aren't stuck in a 10 second reload) and perks with infinite ammo in zed time will love you for it.
Ranged 1-hit decap trash killing is also a neat skill to have. Medic can sort of do it but has tons of recoil, SWAT isn't meant to be aimed with, and Firebug doesn't have the range for it.

It's always better than Survivalist but that goes without saying.

Firebug was great in KF once you mastered the husk launcher. You could easily deal with scrakes that way, and you could slowly burn FP todeath while kiting them (it would never go over their rage threshold) if you had to clutch.

husk launcher+trench gun was the way to go. Very versitile, you could snipe dangers, knock back hoards, or outright kill swarms if you had to.

The only good weapon for Survivalist is Double Barrel but it is already a good offperk weapon before Survivalist is in the game

What's the least shitty loadout for the Survivalist you've found so far? For me I go with an RPG for Flesh Pounds because you can only ever carry 2 C4s so after the first FP they're already gone, the Boomstick because its the Boomstick, and a Medic AR for healing people and to synergize with the better syringe recharge rate and potency skill.

Unfortunately to be able to carry all that you have to pick the extra weight skill which gives you molotovs over healing grenades, but having the RPG at least gives the +25% explosive range some use as its normal range is somewhat lacking and its better to have it over the shitty ZED explosion that does next to no damage and only serves to knock ZEDs around.

Least awful loadout I found was RPG & AK-12. The RPG to kill things. The AK-12 to not get fucked.
I still feel like a walking waste of money playing it, and you can't even have tac reload on both of them. Guess that bard perk falls straight on its face at the first fucking hurdle huh.
At least bards get to be good looking and can play the guitar without having to chose between both.

Using Scar+Crossbow/DBS+Katana/extra (of course I might as well just be fucking commando). As the perk is right now it brings nothing special to the squad. Personally I think Killing Floor 2 has better mechanics and gameplay than Killing Floor 1. It's so just easy to get into the game without getting frustrated. No more shitty hitbox. In KF1, Scrake head hitbox is messy after you stun it with Crossbow bolt. And fire fucks up big time to get headshot. Of course, fire in KF2 still fucks up your aim but not to the degree of KF1's fire.

However, Tripwire constantly fucks up the balance. All the guns are fucking weak. KF1 guns are like unstable cannons that blow off zillions of damage as long as you can control it. KF2 guns are stable watergun, easy to shoot but barely do damage. The only times I feel satisfying my guns are the times I'm using AA12, Boomstick and RPG7 (normal RPG still does not really click for me, have to get ZED time nuke)

I think the "fun" classes of KF2 are
SWAT: shit tons of ammo for magdumping. Infinite ammo during ZED time into decapping a SC/FP is totally dope.
Gunslinger: from trash to big zeds, popping headshots left and right. Still have to wait until Tac Reload for more comfortable game play.
Berserker: hack and slash everything to death. Tho first 10 levels are a bitch to level.

Zedative used to be better but since they removed the earthshake effect from healing cloud it's also usable now. The heal you get from healing cloud might be useful in a tight spot, although you get all the healing you'll ever need from symbiotic health (which you should use during waves and then switch to resistance for boss). the problem with scrakes hitbox in kf1 is only in online play, works fine in local. The scrake has 2 stunned animations but for someone reason in online it'll only play 1 of them even if the other one is the one that is used hitbox wise. There's a subtle difference though, one of them stays still and in the other it slightly bobs. if it stays still it's actually the hitbox of the one where he hangs his head so you need to shoot slightly to the left or right of the neck. If the head slightly bobs then aim for the head like normal.

KF2 has(had) a similar issue with the pulv where it wasn't counting impact damage on the loaded heavies if you played online, it was only counting the explosion damage so you lose out on quite a bit of damage. Works perfectly fine in local play though.

All of the perks have had their skills changed and it's pretty balanced

There are a whole bunch of maps and a lot of the modded ones are solid.

There are albino clots and crawlers that strengthens nearby zeds and explode into poison gas.

When I hit level 5 on all the perks pre survivalist I decided to level them up one at a time by fives. So berserker to level 10, then commando to level 10 and so on and so on. Fighting fit and sitting pretty at level 15 across the board. Just need to beat the forest map to move onto suicidal.

Realized some of the achievements are movie themed/things that are said in movies. Catacombs difficulty achievements are from Lord of the Rings, Prison difficulty achievements are from The Rock and probably the rest as well, but I'd have to look them up. I've always been hip firing. Back in KF1 I'd prefer to walk right up to the zeds before shooting them, allowing me to achieve great hit ratios and in one case leaving an admin thinking I was cheating.

Every zed in KF2 lunges nowadays so you can't really do that, but I still hipfire all the time.

Im pretty sure the exp for trash is the same hard+, its only larger zeds and bonus exp that continues icnreasing

though i could be mixing up KF exp tables with KF2, this happens sometimes, but i distinctly remember grinding 6 player hard as the most time efficient perk grinding strategy.. though come to think of it i cant remember if ive ever even used a faked players in KF2, i know one exists, but i could be remembering KF grinding.

That rinds me of a game yesterday on catacombs where I jumped on top of a clot as it climbed the stairway to the main area of the map and somehow perfectly managed to land on its head. The ai flipped the fuck out and kept spinning in place and spun me around as well. It was like riding a zed themed tea cup ride. Another player chuckled at the sight and a no fun player came over and shot the poor clot. Hoping to record it if I ever do it again.

Grinding is about efficiency. I guess if you are so good you can play HoE with out even trying that would work out, but for most people its a matter of energy in vs exp out. If you can play a lower difficulty for twice as many hours before getting mentally fatigued then that will probably be faster over all.

Though i guess if you are a normie and only play a few hours a day or something faster short term gains would be better.

I've seen a perk leveling server a couple days ago. Used it to get medic to 15. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but leveling medic seems to take fucking forever. Not to mention that fucking recoil on the rifle.

Most LV0 are pretty shit and are trolling, but once in awhile you'll get that player who knows what he is doing. I played so much pubs back when the game demo'd as beta up until now that I basically stopped giving a fuck about them, usually the team ends up booting them and I get a free weapons out of it. As long as the player know's how the game works and how to deal with zeds, LV0 shouldn't really be much of an issue.

Ever since the sharp update released along with the resist system, Hell on Earth is literally suicidal, suicidal is hard mode. Lets not forget changes TW made on the spawn rate and they lowered both head and body health for large zeds.

I mean I joined a team on HOE as LV0 as survivalist and only died on wave 10. Large zeds are a joke and the real threat is the trash now.

I still can't find a fix for the sudden drastic frame drops. It fluctuates between 60-50 fps and the suddenly nose dives down to single digits and stays there for a few seconds although when I'm playing it feels like 10 seconds. All my settings are on high except for fx on ultra. bloom, reflections, and depth of field are off along with the nvidia flex.
