Paladins get a free 40 mount, fun quest at 60 for their charger, can chain pull multiple mobs for fast leveling (more than warriors/rogues at least), lots of "oh shit" buttons and being a healer means easier to group up for dungeons.

I always rolled with Paladin as my first class. Did it back in 05 and still do it on private servers. Leveing is a breeze compared to say warrior. At the very least i could use him to bankroll alts since i didnt have to sink in the gold for 40 mount and consecrate aoe grinding was easy. Personally Paladins are the most iconic warcraft classes alongside druids and shamans, so naturally i gravitated towards it. But i was pretty disappointed coming from Diablo 2 Paladin to wow Paladin.

Re healing, the way i see it someone has to do it otherwise you cant progress. I mean yeah i push the same button over and over but so does a dps i suppose. I never minded healing in pve to accumulate tier and 2 handers then go ham in pvp

It's not a single chinese dude that's a problem. A lot of them are decent, speak shitty english, and are completely able to work with groups and have fun.
BUT, when there are SO SO many chinese, it means the vast majority either can not or will not speak english, so simple things in game become an absolute struggle. Since they choose not to communicate with anyone else, they mainly work with other chinese and only chinese, effectively making them a faction within your faction.
The other negatives are obvious as well:

For a small bit of history, there are always going to be "some" gold farming/selling chinks at any popular server. But some popular chinese streamers got into nost, which led to a chinese invasion. Where lots of chinese go, the chinese gold selling goes retardedly insane - as again, their main customer is other chinese. Endless cycle.
Some people here buy gold. But they're secret about it. There are no taboos in chinese gaming culture regarding pay2win, and many of them think it would be odd to NOT buy gold when you are able to. There are some parallels to chinese class and culture regarding gold farming/buying if one really wanted to look into it.

Seal of Command can proc some juicy crits, but that's it. The guide in OP has it right, the class is boring and its levelling speed is low, but you have plenty of tools to survive very shitty situations.

I actually like the distinction between an offensive hybrid (Shaman) and a defensive one (Paladin) and I say that as a ret pally who couldn't get in vanilla raids. Unfortunately, by TBC the class had miserably fallen behind in terms of dps and tanking, but I digress.

i played a paladin before 1.12, (no forbearance) and i absolutely demolished players in pvp with minimal effort.
It was so easy i felt like i was cheating and so i switched to warrior out of guilt.

Paladins in 1.12 are still great. They do good in pvp, they can tank, heal, or do AMAZING dps all with the same spec in mid game. So they are heal bots in endgame raids? so what? paladins are only raiding to get the items they need to harvest your tears in pvp anyways, as are most classes.
