I most used Rook on defense since you couldn't go wrong with him, and on offense I just used Fuse with an LMG, but this time I think I'm gonna try using Monatgue and Blitz with shields.

Tachanka is still the worst operator in the game, but he is likely getting buffed on the 17th when the new update hits. Castle is very hard to use effectively, he is often detrimental to the team when his barricades block entry of your team to get back inside the objective.

Montagne is still a decent pick. There are less nitro cells around and his shield extends/distends very quickly now. I play him more than Blitz, which as you've heard has horrible hitboxes to the point where you can be headshot by shooting above the shield.

A friend of mine might be picking up R6 soon, My plan is to tell her to go do a few situations on her own (maybe the first 4? or 2? How much is enough?) and then tell her to pick up one attacker and one defender each. Now question: Any Attackers / Defenders I should recommend her?
I assume I should play some T-Hunt with her before going into a proper game too. Maybe try to show her where the cameras are.

I would recommend playing terrorist hunt quite a bit. Not so much for the skills needed in multiplayer but just to get used to the controls and the feel of the game.

attackers
- thermite's a solid choice as he's always useful, but he's also extremely crucial and him dying early can lose games.
- sledge is solid with his kit , but his gadget is a bit less valuable
- ash is solid but can be awkward to play if not used to 3 speeds (but her g36c has laser accuracy)
- thatcher is another attacker that's crucial with thermite, but him dying isn't as big of a loss to the team.
- twitch has good guns and can act as a back up for thermite if thatch gets rekt.

defenders
- rook is needed every round and his gadget is super simple to use.
- mute's also pretty solid as a character with an extremely useful ability and OK weapons.
- bandit's mp7 is fucking sweet and his shock wire's alright. more useful for bandit trick but that's advanced radical tactics.

Downloaded it with a friend, and after two situations dropped into Terrorist Hunt to play together(and get our asses kicked for two hours because Realism). Brought ops and went into casual. I have no idea what is going on most of the time, but shit's fun. Got MVP as Pulse on the first game we won, felt fucking good

The community seems amazing actually. I don't know what it is but everyone tries to help out, give tips, tell others info, etc. Never seen this before

I wanted something. We were vaguely promised new shit, or new game modes, and they never showed up. They have been horrible until about 6 months in with balancing operators (It took them 9 months to realize Doc needs to be able to fucking heal people to not be useless)... Overwatch, as shit as that game is, has those weekly brawls which mix up the rules and game modes. They had special events that was basically Rocket League, as well as a story based Horde Mode for Halloween. They didn't add as much as Siege, exactly, but they added stuff that detracted from the monotony.

There is a difference between having tons of crazy fucking game modes that don't make any sense, and genuine variety. All the game modes boil down to "Defend this spot" and the room geometry and the map is what makes things different and interesting. It would be like saying Battlefield didn't need Rush because it already had Conquest - but Rush turned out to be a huge element of Battlefield series now, and defined some of the major moments of BF3.

The only genuinely interesting Defuse matches are basically the ones on Hereford, where the bomb is on two different floors entirely. That was a huge change to the gameplay and makes those objectives really interesting. Otherwise, 90% of the defuses matches feel no different than secure or hostage. It's just the same shit except the "room" you are defending is now just a bigger room because you blew up the wall between the objectives.

Sure, there are times where the unique elements of the hostage mode comes into play, but really, how many defuse matches end with the defuser even getting planted, or the hostage being extracted?

You can make interesting game modes that evoke all the themes of RB6 Siege, without having it be a "DEFEND THIS SHIT" mode.

Barring that, like the suggestions that come up here numerous times, special event mode playlists with minor tweaks on the formula could revitalize the game and make things interesting. I've seen stuff posted here like recruits only, operators can't be selected again if they died, double health weekend, pistols only, and all sorts of other crazy shit. If they decided to do this every so often, maybe there would be some actual variety in the game.

To say they shouldn't have additional content because the content they already have is good is the biggest shit response I've ever seen and the reason games ship with 4 hour campaigns these days.

Learning the maps in this feels a bit oppressive because the low ttk, no respawns and the maps have 3+ levels and are kind of big on top of that.

Probably not the place to ask this but I'm trying this game out because free weekend why the fuck not?

However whenever I load into the main menu every option and I mean EVERY option is greyed out (Even trying to tab over from Play to Operators gets me an Error saying it's unavailable) except Situations, and when I try to enter that, I get told it's unavailable and to check back later.

I'm also getting connection errors with the R6 Siege server but nobody else has posted anything in the thread about it so I don't know if I'm the only one or what.
