Just announced a week ago that they're closing next month.

For the past year, the game has been dead on the publisher's end with no real updates or events. Eventually, the reason was finally given over the summer: Control of the game was being handed over to the japanese. So that's why absolutely nothing seemed to be happening, even in the korean version.

Thing is, when absolutely nothing HAPPENS in a dressup game vaguely disguised as a golf game, your players are going to dwindle.
This was especially bad for Pangya because
a) they became more and more reliant on gambling shit like "lucky pouches" bringing in the cashflow, which kinda made things shit for non-whales, and
b) sometime in the spring of 2013, the publisher just fucking decided to stop enforcing the rules. Ever.

I GUESS japan looked at the dwindling playerbase they fucking caused, decided the reason was totally something else other than a year of stagnation, and decided this was no longer worth it.


Hell, the reason Global's bad goes even further back than that, really. The last time the game had an international competition, Pangya Global sent a bunch of guys and literally only 1 of them could play competently when under the scrutiny of other people. All those gachabucks they amassed went to giving a bunch of cheating shitheads a free vacation to Thailand, and the server became a fucking joke compared to the other publishers.

I feel more and more awful that they seized control of publishing in North America from OGPlanet. Everything was made more expensive. More and more gambling shit everywhere. And at least OGPlanet realized that Brazil was a problem that was bleeding them financially and fucking did something about it.

There are no cutesy MMO. That genre has been dying since RO, and even RO is nearly uniquely cute. So I run for about one minute to see if it was a bug but the timer goes on
