Is there any way to limit crashes in this game? I've been troubleshooting why I've been seeing so few summon signs lately and apparently FROM has implemented a disconnection penalty that reduces player connections the more you disconnect.

It's Miyazaki retconning the DS1 endings.

Everybody took the 2 endings of the first game to be fire vs no fire, assuming that walking away meant the fire disappears, when it was actually supposed to be about who ruled the land. Burning yourself meant you prolonged Gwyn's age, leaving the land with a dead god. Dark Lord ending meant you took control as the new ruler of the land.

DS3 now splits it into 3, where the Dark Lord ending shows you taking control of the fire, to make it clear that this is about you becoming the new ruler of a creepy hollowed nightmare land of walking corpses and pus monsters. The new end of fire ending is supposed to be the no-fire ending that everybody assumed the first game was about. You say Nope to creepy hollowed nightmare world and let it all fade away and finally die, so you can search for a new light.

That's why people's original assumption was reasonable. It's reasonable to assume that the fire disappears.

In DS3 though, the fading fire somehow seems to be able to bend time and space to keep itself alive. Dragging ash back up from its grave and pulling the lands of previous Lords together just to make sure somebody keeps it fed, and the ashes are drawn to it.

In DS3 we're shown that properly killing the fire off involves a firekeeper actively putting the flame out. This is why I think the EoF ending is all about Miyazaki clearing a misconception up.

Around September 14th (look at Peeve's old VODs on Twitch) Peeve created "The Bloodshade Covenant", basically a way to organize invaders so they don't just run into 1v3's or 1v4 ganks and instead would invade in the aldrich area, would all have Bloodshade in their name, would all have bleed builds and wear the abyss watcher chest piece. They also could communicate through his Discoard channel, join his PS4/steam group, etc. They use the obscuring ring and have like 3 or 4 places they meet up, the perch that overlooks the courtyard being the main one, and the plan is generally that if you run into a gank you wait for backup until the odds are even (so 2v2, 3v3, etc) and then you team fight the gank. This was during a time when a lot of people quit the game because invasions and ganks were so unbalanced in favor of hosts that most people stopped playing, the bloodshade covenant evened the odds with a common build (everyone is building up bleed on you so it procs a lot), brought a lot of people back into the game again.

Crusaders was Oroboro's response which was basically faggot-ass organized gank squads to try to counter the bloodshades with lightning/faith builds, essentially a lot of tears of denial and raw dragonslayer's axe or other weapons with lightning blade.

I don't think they're around anymore but they were popular for a month or two, you can watch their old VODs to see. Peeve's are much better because he's not an obnoxious annoying faggot like obobobo and invasions are a lot more interesting than literal professional ganks literally trying to find how hard they can push the host advantages.

4chan had the vicars apparently (similar to crusaders) but from what I read a lot of them tried to fuck with other people with CE and I don't think anyone recorded/streamed it.

No it's complete shit regardless of build. The regular R1/R2s only scale with Dex, but the 2HR2s are slower than a normal Scythe and the weapon has less physical AR than a Corvian. On a Dex build there is no reason to use it over the Corvian Greatscythe.

As Dex/Int, the weapon art will then deal damage and has HA, but in PvP it's about the worst HA option in the entire game and will only ever work because people don't know what it is and run into it. It's very slow to start up and doesn't have HA until well into the animation, the first jump can be avoided and punished on reaction, and it'll just straight up lose HA trades against big weapons.

Forest of the Fallen Giants was a pretty well-designed level imo even though what sucked was that some inter-level connections were obviously cut and as a result the level feels a little weird. But overall the design is pretty neat and the level has little cool details like the shortcut you can get by exploding the wall, the ballista ambush and the part where you can knock on the door to get the soldiers to open the door for you.

Giants' memories were also cool, it reminded me of Boletarian palace and it felt like real shit was going on, but I didn't like how the segment was timed and splintered across the level and the combat against the giants just felt clunky as fuck.

I kinda wish a DS3 DLC could do that sort of time fuckery where you can get teleported into the middle of the shit happening instead of just witnessing the aftermath of the situation.

It's a fantastic weapon, the guy calling it shit is meming you. It gets good scaling from pure dex, and it's an amazing invader's weapon as the stance combo cannot be parried but people seem to think it can and does massive damage. The ice attack is perfect for controlling the arena, not to mention frostbite buildup on all attacks and huge range. I pair it with crow quills as my switch for variety in my attacks and crits. I'm sl60 with +8/4 so this may also have meaning on my success though, have never made a meta character because honorfag figgt clubs are lame.

What stats should i be focusing on in a bow/greatbow build?

Corvian greatscythe loses 20 AR to it on a 16STR/40DEX build.
In fact, the only stronger scythe on those stats is pontiff knight's, but it has the shittiest WA in the entire class.

"Slower" 2HR1s are also the best scythe 2HR1s in the entire series and have a serious range allowing you to zone opponents pretty well, especially if you also use R2s.

As a HA option it's excellent for anti-group combat, especially against pve shitters with small/medium weapons.

Those stats don't make sense for a CGS, or in fact for most of the weapons in DS3. You can just shift some points between Dex>Str and you'll get more AR out of another Scythe than you would out of Friede's at 40 Dex.

Not that there's any reason to use a Scythe other than cosplay, comparing it to CGS is just a way of saying that it's not even strong within its weapon class, which is one of the worst weapon classes in the game.
