He will have the ability to disengage autolocks, snares and traps (or even a few vision wards) due to the lore hints a Rioter provided.

He will probably be camo as well, so that the vision or ward-disabling mechanic feels "balanced."

Either way he will be broken as fuck until gutted.

in what sense would it be a buff? assassin ekko almost always has the exact same attack pattern: E in, point blank Q and auto, run away and leave the victim to get hit by the return Q since it expanded directly on top of them and they're guaranteed to get hit by it unless they flash or dash out. at the very least if the q always travels the full distance the second hit of Q isn't guaranteed, and the victim also won't be slowed by the Q at the start of the combo because it only expands on reaching the full distance, so they have a chance to kite out

but that's the whole problem with ekko. his whole kit is built around the idea of time delay abilities and smart setup for a big payoff, but his standard combo is as reliable as a point-and-click. it's also why he's such a bitch in lane, especially vs melee champs.

the whole point of ekko is that he has a crazy overloaded kit with the trade-off being reliability. everything but his e has a time-delay, so getting most of his damage down, in theory, requires at least a little bit of setup or baiting the victim into where you want them to be. that shit just goes out the fuckin window though when he can get the bulk of his damage down with an E Q cus it's so easy and reliable. the Q not stopping on-contact would definitely make it more versatile but it'd also make it way worse at the thing that makes ekko such a balance fuckup.

and this isn't even accounting for his ability to setup a stun-zone from out of your vision radius. the combination of these two things turns what is supposed to be a tricksy clever asshole who wins by predicting your movements into a brute-force assassin with a near-undodgeable combo and a get-out-of-jail free card in his ult.

Well for the record the plants don't look THAT bad.
Blast cone was the one I worried about the most but that particular plant is the only one of the three with EXACT timing, no random elements.
It has several uses, both good and bad for the team who's side it's on, so I guess it really depends on comps as to wether or not you leave them there or trigger them early.
Also the blue side blast cone can be used to knock yourself into the top/botlane river bush apparently.

It's not great, but it won't be the worst shit ever.

The worst shit ever is the camps rework, I don't even know why they think that camps should be specialized for different junglers early.

Okay, so the new Assassin is probably going to be C from Piltover, and he's Cait, Vi, and Jayce's enemy.

So, things he'll probably have:
>a projectile disjoint, Cait and Vi have point and click ults, Jayce has a powerful point and click as well
>ward + trap disables, possibly vision denial, as the assassin update is already introducing new vision denial tools, assassin items which reward the player for being outside enemy vision, and Cait uses traps
>some sort of shield killer, Vi has a shield and a shit ton of new shields are being introduced with the assassin update

Also, something I think people are missing, new Duskblade sets the precedent for champions having Lethality RATIOS. As in, Lethality not only inherently increasing all physical damage because it's flat arpen, but ALSO boosting damage directly as an damage ratio just like bonus/total AD ratios.
