the wiki video should've told you to be careful. you want to tune one at a time, and if the car suddenly stalls while you were tuning, go back and revert the exact change you made.

I did that shit slow as fuck and had the car stall on me once. quickly changed it back and everything worked fine. but I should also point out, I unscrewed one of my spark plugs by mistake while I was doing it. you might want to check and make sure all of them are tight.

So on that paper "vakio" means standard, as in it's the standard for rally racing.
TL;DR higher the number, the more acceleration but less top speed. Lower the number more top speed, but lower acceleration.

Meddling with steering wheel continues.

It looks like the game only recognizes turning of the wheel from center to right as full X axis, while turning it left isn't recognized by the game at all.

So actually, when I manage to map left and right to X- and X+, car's wheels are in max left position when steering wheel is centered, in central position when wheel is turned halfway to the right, and in rightmost position when I turn wheel to to the right.

Anyone else had the same problem? Fucker works fine with every other driving game, and drivers are totally fine, so the problem is somewhere on the unity/MSC level.

Even when you alt-f4 moments after a crash it's already logged the mesh damage. It also registers if parts have come undone and even worse engine damage. Look in this thread for how people fixed their mesh problems.

I went through the steam forums and apparently many people have same or similar problem, and problems with axis in general.

Unity seems to have no real idea how to handle controller input, so it fucks it up all the time. I'm not even sure if devs know what to do with that shit.

My money would be on getting some sort of software which can take input from steering wheel and make it so Windows (and the game) sees it as input from say XBOX controller, which Unity should handle without a problem.

I've tried xpadder, but it only allows you to map controller stuff to be recognized as keyboard/mouse buttons, no analog stuff, as far as I can see.

Dev responded to the thread and what I can gather from his explaination is that it's a cointoss between any controller other than Xbox working properly with Unity.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, older controllers are especially prone to not working. It has to do with how Unity treats input.

Short story - if it works for you, you're lucky, if it doesn't, you're fucked.

I've just tried to use pedals with Xbox controller and the shitty analog stick is so tiny, any movement sends my car into a wild spin. The fucking keyboard is better than that shit.

More accessible than it looks. Coming into this game my knowledge of engines was what I saw in the Gran Turismo 3 intro. Managed to assemble the car by myself and hearing it start was so satisfying I strongly advise against using the guide.

Naturally 50 feet down the road it stopped going in gear (turns out the gear linkage fell off) and I then drove the van into a ditch and died.

Its just enjoyable tinkering with an engine before getting a call and heading out to do a job.

Whenever I load the save and go from shop to the rally, the moment I turn left into the dirt road, he is there, right in front of me, he always spawns there, no matter how much time I take to get there.

He then proceeds to go uphill, and either flies in the ditch or moves on. If he moves on, I have to wait for him to go onward and despawn for like a minute or two, before I can actually race. That is because I've actually started too early once and met him while speeding, tried to overtake him and you can guess what happened.

Do you even use fourth gear that much in the rally? When I'm in 4th, it usually means in a couple seconds I'll get to 130 or so and start wobbling on road inmperfections, which usually sends me flying into a tree. And even if it's not, simple bump sends you into a spin, and no matter how fast you recover, you can say goodbye to first place.
