I feel he works better with a team. Having Kazuma do the initial sketches with him taking over afterwards to do the icons was probably the best combination we could hope for. Kazuma's knack for character design gives us really unique and interesting characters and Soejima can concentrate on expressions and not worry about designing the character like he does in the later games.

Maybe if we had someone else draw after Soejima creates the character that might work too.

Soejima's older character portraits were so much better defined too. It was both the colour and the style, mainly since he was basing them on Kaneko's original artwork. Doi was really good too when he was forced to have the new designs fit into the world of P2.

I don't think he's regressed in terms of ability, it's just that the models can better express themselves on their own now, so they've reduced the amount of work that goes into the portraits by making each expression share a base. Unfortunately, pulling off a full range of emotion becomes a lot harder when a) you're really just redrawing eyes and mouths and the faces themselves can't be deformed in order to really push certain expressions, and b) you can't move the head, shoulders and sometimes hands around, incorporating body language.

Robin Hood has Megaton Raid (where it shoots an arrow from it's bow which is kind of neat honestly) the single target light and dark skills both damaging and instant kill, Megidolioan, Sacarecarm and Debilitate. And as a boss it basically has the same thing.

Loki has a ton of skills since there's no player version correlation. I remember it using Brave Blade alot, Maragidyne, Megidolian, Makarakarn and Tetrakarn, and two unique moves where it boosts his attack but lowers defese and then attacks with Loki's sword to do lots of damage.

It's implied he can use either Persona in either outfit (he summons Loki briefly in his Crow outfit to power up the shadows) so that's not an issue.

But I do wonder how it would work since Dark Goro has different weapons, and Loki and Robin Hood have different skill sets that just having Loki work as his upgrade wouldn't work without tweaking.

Yeah, Adachi isn't really that attractive in-game so the creepier way of drawing faces and pale colors suited him a lot more. Goro is definitely deliberately drawn to be cute in-game so it doesn't really work with him as well. I still like her Goros well enough, though. I'm a huge fan of the painterly look her colors have.
