The main thing is that Overwatch and other games like it are built around iconic sounds whereas a lot of Titanfall 2 has a lot of similar sounds, especially with gunshots sound draw-distance

Normally when you eject your Titan blows up a little. If you have nuclear option picked for your Titan, it instead does a big explosion with lots of damage.

Ion and Legion are top dogs right now (another anon referred to them as "piss easy shitter magnets", but the reason they're so popular is because they're so good).

Ion is pretty close up there with them as an all-around Titan.

Scorch can be a solid Titan-killer, depending on the map, and Ronin shreds pilots with its bouncy flak-cannon.

I very rarely find myself picking Northstar. I dunno, maybe I haven't found its niche.

As you might be able to tell, the general "tier list" goes:

It doesn't help that it deals poop damage either.

Both Ion and Northstar have cores that make them incredibly vulnerable, but they are not given a shit ton of damage output in return for it. And then you've got stuff like Salvo Core and Flame Core which are both very fast, massive bursts of damage that are hard to avoid, and it makes you wonder what the devs were thinking.

(Not saying Flame Core is busted by the way, Scorch has a balanced kit)

Your shotty is gonna be imperative, not gonna lie.
Use sword wave to stun, get 3-4 potshots in their weakspot. Phase dash as they get ready to retaliate and get 2-3 more shots out.
Sword block and dash to waste their clip, get more shots in while they're reloading and phase dash again once they try get away (you should have wasted at least half their health bar if they're a legion or scorch)

I wouldn't say Open World but set up a series of flags that let you go down the road you want.

But yeah, if they took a IW approach and really fleshed out the world and let you make your own path in that, that would be great for single player. You could even choose your own AI that you get paired up with

None of that customization junk (aside from OS) for multi though...I just want mo' maps, mo' skins, mo' titans

I just find them...bland compared to the pilot gameplay. I enjoy the first few minutes of the game, when there's mostly pilots & one or two titans, but beyond that it just becomes camp and hide from titans while you wait for your own to charge, taking potshots at the existing ones when you can.

Also to be honest i'm not so much a fan of most of the titans - as I sad, a large part of Titan combat feels bland. Ronin, Scorch and Northstar all are fun, but the more generic rifle shooty tanky titans (Tone, Legion, etc) are honestly not fun to play against, or (personally) play as.

They're brainless and (IMO) plain better than anything else, forcing you to either pick them to keep up, or put yourself at a disadvantage and pick something more fun. It reminds me of COD, where every meta shitter only picks the current best SMG because they're so much better than any other gun. It gets old playing against the same shit over and over again.

So how is the matchmaking in this game? At the beginning everything felt right and I was put into matches where everybody felt like we all knew what we were doing and matches were usually close. But now it feels like Black Ops 3 matchmaking where I'm teamed up with 5 retards who don't know how to play the game and I'm always struggling to try and carry them to victory. I rarely win matches now, just like BO3 because of awful partners.

I honestly don't know the answer. I just can't handle balancing the charge level near max and doing typical wallrunning stuff properly so I always go charge hack.

My guess is that charge hack is less ammo efficient but deals its damage slightly faster than non-hacked if you can hit every shot. It's just a guess though.

Use cold war and grapple, splash is big enough and does enough damage to kill in one burst when aiming in general direction of a target if you are above it. Won't work on people going high and fast, but i think that's the easiest way to be useful, it annihilates grunts too.

The important thing is to keep moving, but also knowing when to stop to camp a corner for a second or two when someone might come through. Try using simple abilities like the wallhack knife thing, whatever the fuck its called.
Use easy weapons at first. Always try to win firefights on your terms.
Don't try to go for guys head on unless you are confident in your aim while running and jumping around.

Distractions are key like in every other FPS. I recommend the arc grenade for beginners. If there is a common hotspot corner where people die a bunch, throw and arc grenade there before turning to clear it and you will most likely find people stunned by it. Don't be afraid to pre-fire corners, try to get a feel for the guns at what range you can hit dudes with them when hipfiring. Try to hipfire when possible and aim when you have to, it takes a while to learn different guns and you overtime learn not to aim when you don't need to.

All in all you'll get better as you play, but its good to keep in mind that its not smart to fight every guy you see. Sometimes its best to leave certain enemies alone until you can sneak up on them.
Like I said earlier, try to fight them firefights on your terms. Dont fire on 3 guys on a rooftop from a million miles away because they will just shoot you, go around and surprise them at close range.
