Yeah the funny thing about shadow is that is a legitimately good class with good cards right now.

With Aggro shadow having pretty high winrates against 5/7 classes, while Midrange and Control have them against 4/7 classes.

The issue is that Shadow gets absolutely dumpstered by haven, and none of the shadows do particularly well against Forest.

It honestly has good decks, they just get pushed down due to two classes defining the meta.

Without changing the card itself, what kind of situation would Beast Dominator become good in?

Last, but not least, Haven.

Heal/Seraph Haven, I normally play Heal-Seraph and I'm one of the first to strongly recommend it. Normal Haven control struggles against Aggro, but Elana strats synergize extremely well with stalling which is what Seraph's entire strategy is. And early game you sometimes just extremely outvalue standard aggro opponents so much that you win before turn 8. Worst opponent is a Runecraft player with 3 Petrifications. Any other control matchup that hasn't teched Odin gets a nasty surprise.

Storm Haven, extremely powerful if you get the perfect curve, but will get dumpstered by Aggro Bats or Banner if you don't. Which is why you tech Angelic Barrage and still keep around your Cudgels. Having played it, it really feels like bullshit at times, but the Rhino finishes probably moreso. The best counter to the playstyle is wards, but the only class that can really get them out well is Sword currently. Even then Themis is still a harsh board equalizer tilted in your favor.

I like going first as midrange dragon. It means that they generally have a very hard time dealing with 2x 2 drop on turn 3, and then on turn 4 I can drop a meaty 4-5 drop so even if they do an evo swing, I still have board control and the ability to do something like a 4 drop evo + 2drop in response.

There's a possibility of him coming out turn 3, which no deck has a decent time coming back from.

It's fairly consistent to get him out turn 4, and if you're going first you still have a turn before most decks have access to removal. Sometimes you win games just because the opponent burns an evo point and throws two or three cards to answer him.

He usually only comes out at a 1 card disadvantage these days too, and at no real loss if you get him out on a Howl play. And he gives Aggro Shadow a late game if it gets drawn out.

Man DShift is way harder than anything I piloted in HS, closest thing in terms of difficulty would be either Malygos Rogue or Patron

Heal Haven vs Face is usually just a matter of how lucky the Heal player is. I run Lolibat with Urias for most of my ladder climbing because Haven's everywhere and heal players will brick all the time because they hit Themis on curve and die on 7. You'll win just about any match where they miss Cudgel on first evo or don't drop Elana by 6.

Yeah, Heal Haven is pretty badly designed. With the exception of Bannermemes because it can contest for board control better than other aggro decks, it's literally just gambling on how fast the Haven player can draw into Elana's and/or Cudgel at which point an aggro player may as well just concede unless they drew it late. It's not broken or anything and it doesn't really even need a nerf, but I just don't like how RNG-y the matchup is.

You need the Burial Grounds by turn 1 and the Ghoul's Banquet, Skeleton Fighter, and Atomy by turn 2.

So you need 4 specific cards out of 5 or 6 cards depending on if you go first or second and cut out 20%/18% chance if the Burial Grounds is the 5th or 6th draw.

The chance is a miracle, but it's an amazing miracle if you get it.

But when you do, its golem mass production, banish nukes and golems buffs into lethals.
