Well it's not a great matchup for you so just be aware that one of the more popular decks counters your deck.

Also try to orientate Shadow more towards Aggro unless you have Tyrant as a huge finisher for midrange/control. If you just want to try to outvalue your opponent as Shadow it won't work in a lot of matchups. You need risky extremes like Tyrant and Atomy if you insist on going down the midrange path.

Generally, any deck that is able to fill its discard / graveyard (called shadow in this game) would be able to utilize PtP. Elf is usually the one that utilizes it the best (hence PtP Forestcraft is a Tier 1 deck), but sometimes a Runecraft player could just meme with it since they're constantly playing Solitaire.

It's neutral but only forest uses it since it can generate a good amount of shadows pretty fast with all the fairies and spells. Rune too but to a lesser degree with snowmen and spells.

because most amulets before DE were completely unplayable. seriously pull up haven and just look at its amulets. they are almost all absolutely awful. aria exists basically to see if the problem was the amulets themselves or just that the payoff wasn't great enough.

also in a meta like this dedicating your turn two to something that doesn't do anything immediately is a pretty big deal. classes like blood and sword could have just played a storm early on and then a big health follower turn three or four. you get the benefit of them not being able to trade, but you also get no board presence to makeup for it.

I think Aria is fine. The reason it is such a big tempo swing usually has to do with using an evolve point either on the tiger or cudgel. It has to do with how broken turn 4/5 is in this game in general. Most of what determines who wins in this game has to do with the first wave of evolves from both sides.

And anyway Garuda is a much better issue in terms of Storm balancing. It really shouldn't do three damage unless it at least reduced the countdown of an amulet. It honestly shouldn't do three unless it was able to make the amulet go off, but then it might be too weak.

thanks anon. i'm pretty excited to try the deck out once i finally have the needed cards. i only just recently got what was needed for freeze mage and i enjoy playing that a lot too. the risk/reward management and thinking far ahead is more interesting than just fighting for tempo like most other decks do. it looks like "solitaire" to everyone, but the person playing. the person playing always has to carefully weigh their options.

All they have to do is make it so that he only does 3 damage if he is able to remove an amulet from the countdown reduction effect. It makes him 100% still playable and useful for aggressive Haven decks, but makes him far less powerful as a topdeck.

In regards to fighting Storm, I find the most frustrating way to lose is to lose because of a vanilla Garuda doing damage on turn six or seven without any amulet. He's basically a 6 mana 3 damage storm with the ability to bypass wards and also added utility via amulet synergy

Earth Rite just needs two things to make it good - better draw options, cause the only synergistic draw they have is that 2pp draw 1 card, and a win condition.

If I could, I'd turn Teachings of Creation to be Draw 1, Earth Rite: Draw 1 more.

It could give you an Earth rite if you're empty on board or draw you two for cheap and replace the sigil you consumed if you have an sigil already.

Allowing us to choose whether or not we want to use the earth rite effect would make it even more fun to use since you can choose to draw 1 and build up 2 sigils or draw 2 and keep your sigils the same.
