Because you're removing the challenge of the game by playing in co-op. There's nothing wrong with co-op in subsequent playthroughs, but generally, you should play your first time through alone just so that you get the experience of it. A person who knows the area in and out will just immediately show you how to get past certain parts and pretty much spoil all the traps.

The entire idea behind the Souls/Bloodborne games is that they are supposed to be reminiscent of the old NES days where you had to learn and adapt because the difficulty was grueling compared to modern games. Having twice the fire power in something like Megaman 5 would absolutely remove all challenge from the game.

On my build I've got it at 807 AR with 25/76 STR/ARC, and you'll probably get even more damage out of it overall with 50 STR.

But I'd still recommend 25/50 though, since the fun bits of STR/ARC weapons are the arcane portion, so it's better to maximise them.

Laurence was the first Vicar of the Healing Church, so it makes sense he should look similar to Cleric Beast and Amelia. But there's no reason he should have been indentical, every other named person who turned into a beast retained some resemblance, Gasgoine still looks like his old self except beastified, Amelia even more so. Even Ludwig has obvious features from his past self.

Laurence should have been a big hairy beast with antlers, but he should have looked unique and definetly should have been wearing tattered clothes of whatever the founder of the church wore. If he clutched the skull that wakes him up like Amelia clutches the medallion that would be cool as well. Could have had a mechanic where breaking it triggers his enraged crawl phase early.

Personally I would have also not have him set on fire until 60%ish health, to throw off people who started the fight with Fire Paper and even fire weapons equiped.

I am having this issue in pvp where despite not lagging at all my weapons seem to go through the enemy without hitting them (even when they arent iframed). From what I ve got weapons with innate elemental damage on top of normal damage scale with arc and other stats but %magic damage doesnt improve them much, weapons with no magic dmg will deal pure magic dmg and scale with arc only after being gemmed. That's basically it.

Scaling is simple. Physical, Blunt and Thrust are boosted by STR/SKL. Blood damage is boosted by BLT and Fire/Bolt/Arc are boosted by arcane. There are no exceptions to this. If a weapon has listed ARC scaling but no actual elemental damage, the scaling technically does exist, it's just multiplying it self against 0. Same with STR/SKL scaling, a weapon might have S rank Str scaling, but if you look at the weapon and see its dealing no physical damage, then that scaling is increasing 0 by a huge %, to arrive at a total of 0 damage.

For gems If a weapon already has 2 damage types then gems will affect those relevent damage types. A +27% physical gem on a Holy Moonlight Sword will only affect the physical damage. A +27% Arcane gem will only affect the arcane damage. A 21.5% Nourishing gem will affect both, because Nourishing gems do +% ATK up, and will work on any damage type. At the expense of lower % values that specified gems.

Weapons that are pure physical behave differently if an elemental gem is placed on them. It replaces the physical damage with that element (and boosts it by the % value listed).

You also out to know about flat damage. If a gem says +15 physical damage (I.e no %) then it's adding 15 damage to every attacks. This is added after scaling (so a weapon with a 24% fire gem +15 physical) won't get any benifit from STR/SKL even on that 15) and even added after modifiers, so it's 15 extra damage on a r1 and 15 extra damage on an Chsrhed R2.

Also due to how defense works small amounts of damage are useless. 15 flat damage on an element the weapon isn't already doing will usually translate into 1-2 actual damage against enemies. Because if Defense = >8*ATK then ATK gets multipled by 0.1. This is partially why the arcane damage on Burial Blade and BoM get ignored, low numbers get eaten by defense.

Actually, DeS, DaS, DaS3 and Bloodborne all use the same engine that's just been getting little upgrades each game. DaS2 was an attempt at making a different engine that failed miserably because they had to scale it way back thanks to shitty console hardware.

Considering DaS3 holds up mostly fine under 60 FPS, on PC, Bloodborne wouldn't likely have any trouble either.

Pure meme magic allowed me to survive in that corner when he was going berserk on me with that combo holy shit
