About to finish installing a9lh. Currently backing up my whole SD card after injecting my old emuNAND into patched sysNAND, does the Nintendo 3DS folder with the 32-character string folders inside have any of my save data in it? It's 21GB, and at my SD card's speed, that's going to take literally all night to transfer.

It would be a PR nightmare, it's the same reason they don't bother tracking what people are pulling from their servers or playing online and banning over that. I'm going to install a9lh, but before I do, I see that my sd card is labeled as EMUNAND9SD. I don't know if emunand9 formatted it in a way in which I should re format the card before installing a9lh or not. What do you think, /hbg/? Should I reformat the card before installing?

I asked here before how updating works for for homebrewed systems/if I already had aurei and A9LH. Someone linked an updated guide I had followed months earlier and said to follow it entirely and exactly, but when it came to the A9LH installer it would never work/open. I'd hit the installer and it'd go black. I asked if anyone knew anything about that and no one did.

I figured I'd just upgrade from aurei to Luma and when that was a success I saw I could still now online play and update the system apps through freeShop, I figured I'd stick on 10.7 in case I ever wanted to downgrade, since I saw you had to be <=10.7 to do it without a hardmod. I also didn't want to risk breaking anything (FBI/Homebrew/etc).

Are you implying that it's safe to assume if I have the latest version of Luma and A9LH I can just upgrade to 11.2 or whatever the latest version is now?

3DS would black screen after DSP Dump step, after doing some of the troubleshooting, it now flashes on and off (occurred after deleting theme data).

First of all, it's arm9loaderhax, not armloader9hax.

Second of all, you can just get another a9lh.bin. From anywhere. It'll work. The only thing you lose is your saves, which you'd lose if your emunand SD fucked up too.

I've personally installed a9lh on 5 different systems with no problems, and no one here bricks from the NAND writes. Downgrading to 9.2 is the only real risky part and you had to do that too for emunand. Emunand isn't any safer, either.

I don't think anyone's been dumb enough to send their 3DS in for repairs with a9lh installed so I can't answer the last part, but there's forks of a9lh that install to the internal nand and don't even need the SD.

So since we've debunked everything you said, I'ma say again, it's a nonargument. There's no advantage to emunand at all.

Well, I didn't get any help there but I did solve my problem.

In the event that anyone else is having the same problem, or ever does, check the size of your arm bin, mine was 45kb, compared to Luma's 66kb. Swapping it fixed the issue.
