In a few day(s) if everything goes according to plan (maybe not, you know how these things are), we’ll launch a PTB (Public Test Build) adding some crazy shenanigans to the game. We are implementing some new gameplay mechanics that are either partially or fully built to get your feedback.

Here’s a brief description of what’s to come:

Number One: Infinite Hooks!

Increased the initial phase of the sacrifice to be infinite
There is a 5% chance to save yourself from the hook during this sequence
There is 25% chance to be sent directly into the struggle phase when attempting to save yourself.
If you’re good at Math, you already understood that there is 70% chance nothing good or bad will happen when you attempt to save yourself from the hook.
Luck positively affects the chance to escape positively, and decreases the chance to be sent into the struggle

Killers can now interact with uncompleted generators by pressing and holding the interaction button.
After a short charge action the generator starts regressing “X” charges over “X” time.
Survivors who start working on a regressing generator will stop the degeneration process and start working on the generator normally.
Number Three: Hook Auto-Repair

Hooks auto-repair themselves after 2 minutes (from both sabotage and sacrifices)
Sabotage meat hook time will be reduced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds.
Disarm Bear trap time is reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds.
Trapper Bear Trap Add-on - Fastening Tools –increased the Bear-Traps disable time
Iron Grasp - Changed to - Your powerful hold on the survivors causes escapes to be nearly impossible. Effects of survivor struggling are reduced by 40/50%/60%. Time to struggle out of your grasp is increased by 8%/10%/12%. (note that the text in game is NOT changed)

They do that because if they don't unhook the guy before they enter the second phase, you only have to catch them twice. Once there is no rush to save anyone, there will be no need to do so unless the killer is completely uninterested in protecting the hooked people.

Camping is the number one complaint among players and has been since launch, even though it's a minor issue at best and frankly downright essential at higher levels of play. The devs cater to where the money is, and the money is in survivor SWF groups that want to win 9/10 times and teabag at the exit.

To me it feel like it'll be a chore to play now, like putting the killer into a cart and forcing him to follow the objectives on rails. With this infinite hook time they'll likely created a scenario in which it'll be legitimate for them to ban killers who straight up facecamp. On the note of completely removing Iron Grasp and having hooks regenerate, Sabo Jakes won't just stop on the few hooks that are in the game, they have an infinite supply of hooks to sabo ( this needs its own meme ).

tl;dr the changes are horrible and they'll push them to public anyways since they've put the effort to make these changes, effort they won't discard.

Don't work on a generator at the start of the game. Hide until the killer passes by or you see someone else get hit. Then rush to the gen and start working on it.

Activate two gens so that the hatch spawns. Keep an eye out for it for the rest of the game so that you have a back up plan.

Don't depend on your team mates. They're useless. Equip bond and the lead the killer to one of them if he starts chasing one.

Don't do altruistic shit unless you're 100% sure YOU will get away.

A hooked survivor is in a static position for the remainder of his hook period. You know his exact position and the area around him at all times even during the rescue. Regardless if they're rescued or not, you're rewarded sacrifice points for the hook action.

A downed survivor can crawl away far past the proximity of where you downed them. If they're rescued sometime later, tough luck. Not only that, but they can also reposition themselves in an area that greatly increases their chance of rescue like near a pallet or an infinjuke location. Unless you had Deerstalker equipped (which would be a stupid waste of a slot with all the changes they made), you put yourself in an unwinnable position. Not only that, but you rob yourself of sacrifice points.

There's no good reason to leave someone downed unless there's another injured player right next to them that you're 100% sure you'll get.

The hook camping fix really isn't an issue in and of itself. The problem is that once you're up against sprint bursting, self-caring, decisive striking, voice chat using SWF, you need to camp.

I'm tired of playing with strangers, getting hooked first 75% of the way into the match by a terrible killer who is rank 1, and getting camped.

Right now due to the bloodweb killer mains and survivor mains have totally different views on what "fair play" is. How OP survivors get is when they are coordinated since their balance is based on 1-1 basis with the killer and not as a team.
