2. search for OP heroes like Arcwarden, sandking, mirana, omni spammers playing in high ranked games, just study the games and replays to analyze their decisionmaking process etc. I watched bulldog brood back when it was OP shit and i have a 75% wr on that shit
3. play more unranked games- focus on your own play mute other players. there will come a point where both your mechanical skill and decisionmaking will allow you to feed off of the retard on the other team consistently, and your mmr will increase
4. swallow your pride- if your team has picked 4 hard carry agi, dont be a wanker and get a 5th one- you can pick heros that transition into carries late but can roam and support effectively like mirana tiny etc

But even if I was, why do men/teens playing this game feel like sexual harassment is okay because it's relatively anonymous with no consequences? Do you really need things like lawsuits and restraining orders to prevent you from talking so hatefully to women? Is it only law and the judgement of society what makes you behave at work, at the grocery store, etc.? Is it truly funny to you to hear a woman's voice in a game of mostly guys, and think it's a great and rare opportunity to humiliate and harass another human being without consequence?

Last night we only had a 3 stack. We started our game and I asked a question about the hero I selected. It was not a ranked game. I was playing a support I don't normally play.

Immediately, the new guy in our party started moaning and calling me "baby." My husband and our friend asked him to stop. He didn't, so we all muted him. This is guys in many of the games I play, and I'm tired of it. It may be novel to you to come across a girl in game, but guys who react to my voice with lewd comments and harassment are not rare for me. It happens a couple times a week if I don't play in a five stack and if I dare to use my mic.

After I left, in all chat, these guys seemed confused as to why I abandoned. They told the other team I left because "they called me out on being a girl." The enemy team replied that they wished they had a computer in the kitchen. Yep, hilarious. I've heard these jokes before. Many, many times. You aren't being new or clever, really and truly.

But I'm tired. I'm tired of being spoken to like that, embarrassed and shamed for simply playing a game that I enjoy. From now on out, I will only play if I'm in a five stack. That means, for me, to avoid being harassed, I lose some of the really fun aspects of the game, like custom modes and playing solo ranked.

A lot of girls I've met who play are really tough. They give as good as they get, and they don't let it phase them. I have days where I feel that way, too. I have days where I brush it off as dumb humor and I let it go. I pretend it doesn't phase me to be spoken to like that in front of guys I actually know in real life now. But I'm not really a super tough girl. It bothers me, and it makes me really uncomfortable. Sometimes it really scares me, because I forget that these guys don't know where I live or who I am, and it gets overwhelming to take the brunt of 2-3 minutes of really ugly, hateful speech. It sucks losing games because half your team is muted.

So I'm going to take steps to prevent having to listen to it anymore, but I write this in the hopes that maybe it will reach someone who has treated a girl in game like this in the past. Maybe it will make someone realize how hurtful they are being to total strangers. Yes, you will get away with it. No, there aren't any consequences and nobody will stop you. But be friendly anyway. Nobody picks up a video game because they want to be bullied and insulted. This game has the reputation of being one of the most toxic.

the problems with what happens to most of the old guard are that

I'm so tired

I'm a stay-at-home mother. I have an adorable year and a half old boy and a newborn foster daughter. I'm not some super sexy unicorn woman. I'm out of shape. Usually I'm playing Dota in the pajamas I bought during pregnancy, covered in spit up. I'm not wearing some slinky Crystal Maiden cosplay and creating youtube videos of my breasts while I place wards. I'm just an average, middle aged nerdy woman who enjoys playing the game with my husband in the evenings.

What I'm getting at here is that I am a human. An actual, real life person, who tries to do good with my life and, trust me, if you saw me at Target, I would not be the woman you decide to make a pass at.

But even if I was, why do men/teens playing this game feel like sexual harassment is okay because it's relatively anonymous with no consequences? Do you really need things like lawsuits and restraining orders to prevent you from talking so hatefully to women? Is it only law and the judgement of society what makes you behave at work, at the grocery store, etc.? Is it truly funny to you to hear a woman's voice in a game of mostly guys, and think it's a great and rare opportunity to humiliate and harass another human being without consequence?

Last night we only had a 3 stack. We started our game and I asked a question about the hero I selected. It was not a ranked game. I was playing a support I don't normally play.

Immediately, the new guy in our party started moaning and calling me "baby." My husband and our friend asked him to stop. He didn't, so we all muted him. This is guys in many of the games I play, and I'm tired of it. It may be novel to you to come across a girl in game, but guys who react to my voice with lewd comments and harassment are not rare for me. It happens a couple times a week if I don't play in a five stack and if I dare to use my mic.

After I left, in all chat, these guys seemed confused as to why I abandoned. They told the other team I left because "they called me out on being a girl." But I'm tired. I'm tired of being spoken to like that, embarrassed and shamed for simply playing a game that I enjoy. From now on out, I will only play if I'm in a five stack. That means, for me, to avoid being harassed, I lose some of the really fun aspects of the game, like custom modes and playing solo ranked.

A lot of girls I've met who play are really tough. They give as good as they get, and they don't let it phase them. I have days where I feel that way, too. I have days where I brush it off as dumb humor and I let it go. I pretend it doesn't phase me to be spoken to like that in front of guys I actually know in real life now. But I'm not really a super tough girl. It bothers me, and it makes me really uncomfortable. Sometimes it really scares me, because I forget that these guys don't know where I live or who I am, and it gets overwhelming to take the brunt of 2-3 minutes of really ugly, hateful speech. It sucks losing games because half your team is muted.

So I'm going to take steps to prevent having to listen to it anymore, but I write this in the hopes that maybe it will reach someone who has treated a girl in game like this in the past. Maybe it will make someone realize how hurtful they are being to total strangers. Yes, you will get away with it. No, there aren't any consequences and nobody will stop you. But be friendly anyway. Nobody picks up a video game because they want to be bullied and insulted. This game has the reputation of being one of the most toxic.

It really doesn't have to be that way.

Rubberbanding literally made Singsing quit.

He stated multiple times when trying out LoL, Hots and even Strife: "can't play this game, you can't snowball here, it's so boring".

On top of meta's farming cores he simply couldn't find his place in this game.

His favourite position was playmaking mid, he loved rhasta mid and other various int heroes. Since game went away from these picks, Sing could never adjust. He tried carries, offlanes, meta mids, but was never successful, because he didn't enjoyed that gameplay.


Hope you all rubberband defenders are happy, because you ruined that game. This "increased accessibility" killed what made doto game doto and we're left with hero farming simulator, ie. lol-clone that everyone accused us now, it's more true than ever.

Lame excuse, you can snowball you just can't snowball properly on heroes who midgame peak anymore. If your hero doesn't scale to late game and you're not taking barracks by 30 minutes then the game is over for you unless the enemy team dieback.

Remember when Ursa's Fury Swipes worked on towers? They should revert it back so it once again works on towers/buildings.
